I use schoolrunner every day working for a K-8 school. It is really the only student data management system I've ever used so I don't have too much to compare it to.
Schoolrunner is super user friendly for both teachers and admin.
The interface is, in general, really straight forward. You don't have to guess at what you're trying to do and what the effects will be.
Rostering and making updates via csv is very easy.
Reports are for the most part comprehensive and easy to generate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Their is next to no customer support.
When we have issues there is no one we can call. Therefore something that could be solved in 5 minutes simply because we didn't know how to do it or what our options were, can take a week or more to resolve because we have to wait to go back and forth in emails.
Recently this has only worsened. At this time I have a ticket that has been open for nearly 3 weeks. In the past week I have not had a single update on this ticket. The issue seems to be a glitch in their system that is making integration with an external system impossible.
While their support team is very friendly and generally very knowledgable and easy to work with, these time gaps are an eternity for schools. For the cost of the product, it is unrealistic to not be providing consistent support for it's users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
