Heritage Christian School uses FACTS SIS (Student Information System) as its primary platform for managing student records, attendance, grades, communication, and tuition management. The system provides an integrated and secure way to organize essential school data and connect administration, teachers, students, and families within one digital hub.
It has several strengths:
FACTS links student records, academic progress, financial accounts, and family information in one database, reducing duplication and simplifying data management across departments.
The parent and student portals offer clear visibility into assignments, grades, and attendance. Families appreciate being able to check progress and communicate easily with teachers. It is easy to email or text parents.
The gradebook, lesson plan templates, and attendance tools streamline daily classroom tasks. Teachers can quickly enter grades, track missing work, and generate reports.
Reporting functions allow for efficient transcript generation, scheduling, and demographic data analysis. The integration with FACTS Tuition Management provides seamless financial oversight.
FACTS provides consistent data security, frequent system updates, and responsive customer service through help tickets and live chat. The Hubhelp is also helpful for learning new processes and for training new staff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are several areas where I believe improvements could be made. Although the interface is functional, it often feels outdated and requires several clicks to accomplish basic tasks. Introducing a more modern dashboard with customizable shortcuts would greatly enhance usability.
Building custom reports is currently complex and can take a significant amount of time. Implementing more intuitive drag-and-drop reporting tools or providing ready-made templates would make data analysis much easier for both teachers and administrators.
The mobile app is useful for quick updates, but it does not offer the full range of features available on the desktop version. Expanding the app’s capabilities for grading, messaging, and attendance would be especially helpful for staff who need to work while on the move.
Improved compatibility with platforms like Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, and various curriculum software would streamline workflows and help avoid duplicate data entry.
Finally, while there are tutorials available, having school-specific training videos and detailed step-by-step guides would make it easier for new staff members to learn how to use the system efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
