Infinite Campus just keeps getting better and better! **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2023 **What do you like best about Infinite Campus?** Each year it gets better and better but you don't have to convert to the new stuff if you don't want to and can keep it "old skool" if you're not into lots of changes at the beginning of the year. I like the way you can enter assignments for multiple classes nowadays instead of having to do it all one by one (as it was in the past). I like all the different settings, like printing out rosters and blank spreadsheets. I probably do that at least once a week because I still like to fill in grades by hand on the paper and then transfer it in IC later. I like that the students can check what they're missing and as a parent, I use it to see what my son is missing and to easily record an absence. Calling on the phone is not fun compared to getting on the IC app. **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** Sometimes, as a teacher, I find it hard to distinguish where I am on the main menu. Am i in instruction or in student information ? Like, if I want a student's grade vs my gradebook...or I want to toggle back and forth it seems like I often get stuck in some type of netherworld where I can't get back to where I want to be or I can't figure out how I looked something up in the past. Sometimes it seems like my permissions suddenly disappear and I can't look student info up. When that happens, I have to close the program and then log in again. This isn't a problem when I'm in my classroom working alone, but if i have a lot of students in the room, this isn't ideal! **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps me know when a student will be absent because even if I have a class the last period of the day, I can click on that class and student and it will show me if s/he has already been marked absent for the day. This can really help with planning (I.e. if I don't have to work with the one kid who doesn't speak English, then I can make plans to do something else with that extra time, with the rest of the class. I like that teachers/ admin/ parents/ and students can all see the same info for grades. It takes the guesswork out of how students are doing and it allows parents to be able to see if there child has homework. I also use it as a parent so I can see if my son has missing assignments. This solves a problem for me but I bet my son isn't too happy that I know if he has homework! Please note that my computer is broken and it won't take screenshots. I have tried taking a picture of me using the computer but it won't upload the picture because it will say the file is too big. ### 2. It allows monitoring the behavior and performance of students, providing analysis and preventing late students from not graduating on time. Both students and parents have a portal to log in and view online grade books and final grades, so that they are aware of their performance at any time, in real time. **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** The software is very intuitive, but sometimes I find it cumbersome to enter final grades. That part should be a little more intuitive or automatic. Its interface could be a little cleaner and less chaotic, as sometimes so much information on the screen can become overwhelming. The task of searching for a student is not always easy, to tell the truth, they should put more search options, beyond the student's last name. **Recommendations to others considering Infinite Campus:** This software is ideal for companies that teach courses and want to keep order in the management of their learning, as well as for schools, to monitor the performance of students. It has served us wonderfully and we have had no major problems with the system, so we highly recommend it. This is a great software that has allowed us to achieve a better organization of all student records, saving us hours of work and unnecessary paperwork. Both administrators, students and parents have found the software very useful and easy to use. **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using this software to manage our students in an organized way. It is quite intuitive and easy to use. We can easily organize in the system, everything related to students, grades, schedules and the best thing is that they themselves and their parents can enter the system and see their performance. It allows integration with learning management programs such as Google Classroom. Portal for parents and students, which allows them to view grades, schedules and all the information of their performance and evolution. It has a student analysis, which allows you to see which students are at risk of failing. ### 3. This helps with saving time. **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** I dislike that I am unable to change my password without an administrator. Someone has hacked my Infinite Campus_ and deleted my grades. You can also have certain access levels, so only some people have access to certain things which really helps protect student privacy. **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** I dislike that sometimes you have to go a roundabout way to do a search or to view specific information. I have to have it on a specific view to see what the primary language spoken is, for example. I also dislike that you have to select a certian school 'calendar' to view the student's schedule. **Recommendations to others considering Infinite Campus:** It's a great product. It takes a little bit to get the hang of using it, but once you've used it for a while it just comes as second nature and is pretty intuitive. **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** For my department, I am mainly using IC to Search students to verify or find specific information like address, household members or to view their schedules. The main benefit of this is that it helps me complete Educational Benefit applications more accurately and efficiently. ### 5. I like the set up of the pages when you pull student summaries. I use the live side when I do student scheduling as the scheduler is not as easy for me to navigate **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** I don't like that you have to set up an ad hoc report to pull lists of kids. There were algorithms that you had to know to pull reports and set up courses. With IC you can do basically any formation of courses you want by just clicking a series of check boxes. ### 10. I would prefer that all reports have the option to print in CSV format and not just PDF. **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** This platform makes communicating with parents/guardians much more simplistic. They have easy access to attendance and grade information. Educators/administrators can directly email parents/guardians and have return emails go to a different email such as Gmail. ### 11. Unlike older systems, with everything in one hub and at your fingertips, Infinite Campus allows teachers to retrieve whatever they need, wherever they are. **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** One of the things that I dislike about Infinite Campus is that it is hard to locate missing assignments; they can get overlooked. Also, the system only takes you back a few weeks, where past assignments are concerned. We were trained on this LMS, and parents were not- sometimes they have trouble navigating the system. **Recommendations to others considering Infinite Campus:** Whether it be student health risks, student attendance referrals, or catching those students who are academically high risk, I recommend Infinite Campus as the catch all for teacher success with students and their families! **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are solving the problems that come with making grades accessible to parents and students, as well as keeping an organized grade book for the teachers' eyes only. Students are held accountable and there are no excuses for missing assignments because it is all right there before their eyes. I am able to look up a students and find various pieces of information I may need in order to address an issue or concern I may have at school. As a teacher who see all students in the school, it is nice to be able to easily look up a students and determine their schedule or possible contact information . **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** I believe this is due to the fact that I don't use Infinite Campus as much as the secretary would but I feel like there are many aspects of Infinite Campus that I am not aware of or particular exceptions I need to click on in order to get to another page or to see the information I am wanting to see. Additionally, I think it would be beneficial for the secretaries to be able to see students at other schools with in the district. Another concern I have with Infinite Campus is the wait time for students to show up in other platforms that it is connected to. Many students will come in and register and begin class that day or have me for a class that day. Often I am not able to get the student to have access to the computer, as I have to wait for the students to roll over in Infinite Campus. **Recommendations to others considering Infinite Campus:** I would highly recommend Infinite Campus to anyone that is is not currently using the platform. I know that many districts around my school district also implement this platform. As someone who has worked at a district that has not had Infinite Campus, I can see how beneficial and necessary it is for a school to run efficiently. When I needed to contact a parent or look up information about a student, I would have to go to the office and look up information in a binder (hoping someone else wasn't using the binder as well.) Additionally we were not able to see other vital information regarding a student including IEP, 504, and Speech information. **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Problems that I am solving by using Infinite Campus are being able to easily see my students in all of my classes as well as contact information for students including siblings and what grade and school they attend as well as all contacts and emergency contacts. Additionally we are able to easily input grades into Infinite Campus with ease. One aspect that I am able to see daily is the ability Infinite Campus has to sync with other programs we use in the district. As the computer lab teacher, I will register students to particular programs. With the fluctuation of students in out district, it s great that I don't have to go through and manually move students around. ### 21. If I am trying to transfer grades manually from one system to IC and they are not in the same order it makes it difficult to look back and forth. **Recommendations to others considering Infinite Campus:** I recommend this product to other schools that may be interested in keeping track of student grade, attendance and academic data. **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ability to communicate grades to parents and students with live updates is the best feature. Parents and students get notifications when a new grade is entered. It also communicates the attendace to parents and students as well. So parents are notified when a student is absent or tardy from class. ### 22. You really have to search how to accomplish something. The best products I use enable you to discover new features. It is easy to navigate so I can find information about students quickly. The summary page is especially helpful for contacting parents. **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** The search feature often does not yield the correct student's name, even if you type in the first and last name very accurately. It is almost too sensitive. **Recommendations to others considering Infinite Campus:** I often have to reference another student database when searching a student's name in Infinite Campus because the student search feature is so sensitive to spelling the name correctly. I would recommend having another reference for students' names when using Infinite Campus. It also took me a while to understand the absence feature - no entry for the day means that the student is present, an entry for the day may indicate an excused or unexcused absence or a tardy. **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Infinite Campus provides access to student information for many different people in the school who need to know it. It eliminates time that could be spent searching for information by housing it all in one place. ### 24. Schools and parents can collect all student information in one location. This information is exceptionally reported. I like that they have a forum to connect with them and see what they've missed. Students can track their grades easily, too, to find out the value of each job. It saves a great deal of time to have all this knowledge. **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** Each time I press the details of the student to see his schedule or IEP, I do not want to go and do the class to do something specific with another student. I don't like that. I don't like that. The endless campus can seem spacious and confusing, especially from the main graphical user interface. The most fascinating feature of the Infinite Campus is technical growth. It is difficult to use the keys. The names of the students on the system will also not be reviewed. Teachers can't quickly allocate assignments and grade scores to their students. **Recommendations to others considering Infinite Campus:** I propose it strongly. Is a good asset for a major or mall school district. It provides a variety of services, including a fully integrated LMS after going through the learning curve. The software has been creative and easy to use. Make sure that your questions are answered and before introducing this product all your needs will be fulfilled. **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Teachers can quickly enter the student chart's wellness section, so as to be aware of all the needs of the student (e.g., they can see asthma if they have problems breathing). The software maintains student records and shows student contact and allergy information in one location. It allows us to have outstanding instructional knowledge that also appeals to students. Infinite Campus solved the problem of having many complex administrative applications. Now all knowledge and activities are simplified by this service. ### 25. Easy to use. I have been using Infinite Campus for many of those years. The program has evolved with time and now contains more features than ever before. With transitioning from traditional paper assignments to more one-on-one device-based assignments, IC has made major adjustments to allow for grade import. This year, Google Classroom can now be directly linked to Infinite Campus which is great! There was also a way to do attendance for virtual learners vs. in-person learners which is also wonderful. I have always had success using the program and being able to post assignments, categories, post weights, etc. There really are a lot of nice features that work well for educators from different content areas. **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** Some of the features are bit hidden and can be difficult to find. **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am balancing distance learning and in-person learning grading and attendance using IC. During the COVID-19 pandemic, my school relied widely on the Campus to monitor students ' participation when studying remotely. The platform helped us to maximize all the details we wanted to document during the test. Both student knowledge will be maintained as a school archive on a limitless campus. For each student with a few clicks, I can find an email, hours, transcripts or attendance record. Students can now check their credentials quickly and figure out how much each job is worth. It spares a lot of time with all this information. **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** The most daunting part of the Infinite Campus is technical growth. Any traits aren't that easy. Despite many years of using the app, I don't regularly understand or use tabs and features. The keys are difficult to use, not numbered intuitively. The identities of the students on the curriculum will also not be reviewed. There is no convenient way for teachers to allocate assignments to students and report countless campus results, such as their academic year. **Recommendations to others considering Infinite Campus:** The system is creative and quick to launch. In the help section, there is no intuitive search feature. An additional chat is easier. There are also several links that need multiple clicks and take longer than you prefer to enter the screens, which makes it a harder task. This piece of software has a very steep learning curve. They require a lot of specific fields, and without them you cannot add the health condition.
