"A Flexible Academic Management System That Strengthens Institutional Coordination"
What do you like best about OpenEduCat?

From an academic leadership perspective, OpenEduCat stands out primarily for its modular design and adaptability. In managing education at a faculty or deputy dean level, one of the persistent challenges is aligning multiple departments with different workflows. Built on the Odoo and Flectra frameworks, OpenEduCat provides a structure that can be tailored without forcing institutions into rigid processes.

The student information management system is particularly valuable. Having a centralized repository for academic records, attendance, and student profiles improves oversight and reduces administrative fragmentation. It also supports more informed academic decision-making, especially when tracking cohort performance across semesters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenEduCat?

While OpenEduCat is highly flexible, that flexibility comes with a degree of complexity. Institutions without strong technical support or prior experience with ERP systems may find initial configuration and customization demanding.

The interface and workflows, though functional, can feel less intuitive compared to more modern SaaS-native education platforms. This may require training time for administrative staff and faculty users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Strategic Admissions & Employability Partner, Not Just a Platform"
What do you like best about OpenEduCat?

1. Admissions with an Outcome Focus

Unlike many enrollment platforms that stop at application processing, TeamLease Edtech aligns admissions with career pathways. This makes recruitment conversations stronger and value driven.

2. Industry Integrated Programs

Their ability to connect academic programs with real employer demand adds strategic depth. As a CEO, I see this as risk mitigation institutions are not just filling seats, they’re building placement credibility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenEduCat?

1. Less of a Traditional ERP System

If an institution is looking purely for a K 12 student information system or a finance-heavy ERP, TeamLease Edtech may not function as a full internal administrative replacement system.

2. Customization Depends on Institutional Model

Because their approach is structured around employability outcomes, institutions with highly rigid legacy systems may require alignment adjustments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Affordable and Flexible Payments Make OpenEduCat Easy to Adopt"
What do you like best about OpenEduCat?

it has made a big difference in how we manage our daily operations. Everything is available in one place—admissions, attendance, fees, exams, and student records—which saves a lot of time and effort.

What I really like is how it reduces manual work. Earlier, handling records and reports used to be quite hectic, but now the process feels much more organized and smooth. The system is quite easy to use once you get familiar with it, and it helps keep everything well-structured. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenEduCat?

It’s also a great solution for institutions looking for an all-in-one platform, as it covers almost every administrative need. The only thing I felt was that new users might need a little time to understand all the features, but after that, it works really well.

Suggestions for improvement:

* Adding more customization options in dashboards would be helpful, so users can arrange data as per their preference.

* The user interface can be made a bit more modern and visually appealing.

* A guided onboarding or tutorial for new users would make the initial experience smoother.

* Faster access shortcuts for frequently used features (like attendance or fee entry) could improve efficiency.

* More flexibility in report generation (custom filters, formats) would be a great addition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Scalable Education ERP That Supports Long-Term Institutional Growth"
What do you like best about OpenEduCat?

Scalable Architecture Across Departments

OpenEduCat works well for institutions managing multiple departments or campuses. Its structure allows different units academic, administrative, and support teams to operate within a single system without losing coordination.

Integration Friendly ERP Foundation

Because it’s built on an ERP framework, the platform offers flexibility for future expansion. Institutions can integrate additional modules or customize workflows as their needs evolve, which is important for long term planning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenEduCat?

Technical Setup Can Be Demanding

Implementation may require external support, especially for institutions without ERP experience. This can slow down initial adoption.

User Interface Feels Basic

While the platform is stable and functional, the interface is more practical than visually modern, which may take some getting used to for new users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Practical Student Information System with Customization Freedom"
What do you like best about OpenEduCat?

Scalable architecture Suitable for universities, colleges, and schools, especially those managing multiple departments or campuses.

Integration-friendly framework Built on ERP foundations, making it adaptable for institutions that want to expand functionality over time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenEduCat?

Implementation can require technical expertise Institutions without in-house ERP knowledge may need external support during setup.

User interface is functional rather than modern While stable and reliable, it may not feel as polished as some fully SaaS-native education platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A flexible, cost efficient ERP for schools that need structure without the enterprise bloat"
What do you like best about OpenEduCat?

As a Principal at BCG working with education institutions on digital transformation, I appreciate ERP platforms that balance functionality, modularity, and cost discipline. OpenEduCat does this surprisingly well.

Because it is built on Odoo/Flectra, it offers a highly modular system that allows schools to activate only the features they truly need whether admissions, SIS, attendance, finance, or LMS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenEduCat?

OpenEduCat is powerful, but it is not plug and play. Schools without in-house IT support may find that:

Customization takes time because everything is modular

The interface, while functional, could be more polished and modern

Some advanced analytics especially around student performance trends require additional configuration

Institutions with complex reporting needs may need optional add ons or custom modules Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Transforming Academic Operations into an Integrated Learning Ecosystem with OpenEduCat"
What do you like best about OpenEduCat?

OpenEduCat brings everything under one roof admissions, course management, grading, and communication creating a seamless learning experience.

The open source model gives us full freedom to customize modules for Chime’s specific learning framework.

Integration with Odoo and Flectra makes it easy to connect academic and administrative data, supporting both learning analytics and performance tracking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenEduCat?

The interface, while functional, could use a more modern touch especially on mobile for students.

Some modules require technical expertise to configure, so smaller institutions might need developer support at the start.

Advanced analytics and LMS style visual dashboards could be more intuitive for non-technical users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"From paper piles to proactive literacy success: OpenEduCat transformed how we run our programs"
What do you like best about OpenEduCat?

t Ignite Reading, we manage literacy programmes across multiple schools and campuses, and OpenEduCat has brought much needed cohesion. We used to juggle separate spreadsheets for enrollment, attendance, reading assessments and parent communication; now everything lives in one system: student profiles, academic history, reading levels, results, attendance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenEduCat?

The “go live” phase required more internal coordination than I’d anticipated. Because the system is comprehensive, our literacy team needed extra training and we needed set up time to map our unique reading programme workflows into OpenEduCat’s modules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kaushal Soni of OpenEduCat

Hello Dawn Q.,

Thank you for sharing such a comprehensive and insightful review. We’re truly delighted to learn how OpenEduCat has helped Ignite Reading bring structure and cohesion to your literacy programs across multiple campuses.

"From therapy logs to campus wide clarity: OpenEduCat empowers our SLP operations"
What do you like best about OpenEduCat?

In my role as a Speech Language Pathologist at Patheous Education I often juggle student profiles, therapy session schedules, attendance tracking, progress data and cross department communication. OpenEduCat has allowed us to centralize all those workflows student enrolment, attendance, performance evaluation into one unified platform thanks to its modular student information, course planning, exam & grading, and fee modules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenEduCat?

Because our therapy department has specialised needs (e.g., multi session tracking per student, custom progress metrics, parent SLP communication logs) the initial setup and customisation required more time and effort than we originally budgeted. The flexibility is a strength, but it meant more consultancy involvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Flexible and Scalable School Management Platform That Supports Real Educational Growth"
What do you like best about OpenEduCat?

As the Chief Development & Learning Officer at Vantage Education AG, what stands out most about OpenEduCat is its true modularity and flexibility. Because it’s built on the Odoo/Flectra frameworks, we can structure our academic, administrative, and learning workflows exactly as we need them without being locked into rigid systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenEduCat?

OpenEduCat’s strength its modularity also means that institutions without technical expertise may require implementation support. A few advanced customizations need professional configuration, especially when integrating external tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
