What do you like best about Resource Management by Smartsheet?

ease of use to change scheduling

some sorting functions are nice

What do you dislike about Resource Management by Smartsheet?

API connection for integration is not straingt forward

Need to extract data to create a dashboard, because big projects (100+ resources ) are not very tranparent or can bee shown on a single screen.

No usable security levels, every user sees every project and every user.

Cannot create filtered views to share only that specific view for a user group

Subcontractor view cannot edit, so not suitable for managing their projects

licenced user will see all data, even if confidential (eg: employee price card) so project managers can see each others costs and every employee cost, even if they are not in their project, and that is nonsense

I have contacted support for solution, and 7 months and several meetings were not enough to provide any solution or even a demo of a possible solution

The support didn't had access to their admin site on their own sandbox. When I asked for a technical support they connected me with a sale representative without proper technical knowledge. (several times) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Resource Management by Smartsheet?

10kft as we call it, it’s the de facto tool to help us maintain up to date visibility on where people is needed across our organization. Not only does it help us build and maintain a project portfolio, including the teams that are allocated to work on them, but it also plays very well with integrations.

Integrating with 10kft is key as it allows for better data analysis and continuous improvement processes to flow smoothly throughout the business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Resource Management by Smartsheet?

10kft relies on a very disciplined team managing the system and processes. It doesn’t provide a workflow or framework, so setting it up correctly and successfully requires investing time and effort into building a process around it and making sure that it’s followed to the letter.

What problems is Resource Management by Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?

10kft helps communicate resource allocation decisions visually and through it’s built-in analytics. It also helps forecasting work and keeping an organized and dynamic project portfolio, that includes resource usage and provides tools and data to make early hiring decisions. It also helps maintain a skill set directory and use the team most efficiently.

10kft also allows for data querying through it’s API, which allows for data analytics across multiple systems: for example, you can cross reference your sales pipeline data with your current team and then figure out exactly who needs to be hired and when they need to be hired to maximize utilization rate and efficiency. I still have not had enough time to learn the ins and outs of this product... The potential is huge, but my abilities are lacking!

Easy for team members to enter hours in. Projects are able to have designated phase-specific timelines and budgets which is great for tracking efficiency and progress. Reports can easily be created and adjusted with filters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Resource forecasting is either easy or challenging depending on how you run your teams. If you have team members working on multiple projects a day it can be cumbersome to set up. The system assumes people will be working 100% of the time on a project from start to finish and that needs to be consistently adjusted as project assignments do. We're tracking our team's utilization and project budgets. 10k allows us to mark internal and client projects separately so we can see how much of the team's time is being spent on billable work. What do you like best about Resource Management by Smartsheet?

One of the best features of this program is the ability to create different projects with phases and categories of tasks. It is easy to add logs and create line items under a project. I also find the analytics feature helpful to pull reports related to the time spent either at the project/phase/task type level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Resource Management by Smartsheet?

I dislike using this tool as an allocation planner, it is difficult and time-consuming to chunk out times by specific day and often it is easier (yet less accurate) to spread the budget for a project over a long period of time, without a day by day breakdown.
