Limited Granularity – It works very well at the project/role level, but it’s not as strong when you need detailed task-level resourcing or highly complex dependency management. Reporting Constraints – Built-in reporting is good for utilization and capacity, but more advanced/custom reporting sometimes requires workarounds or exporting data. Time Tracking Adoption – The time entry feature is simple, but adoption can be hit-or-miss; if people don’t log time consistently, utilization data can become unreliable. I use Resource Management by Smartsheet to plan, allocate, and track people and work more efficiently across projects. It provides me a line of everyone's workload, helping me know who is free or overloaded. I like that it reduces chaos instead of causing one. The Schedule view is a great feature; it's my day-to-day operating screen. It shows me who is working on what and why, which I use to avoid trainer clashes and plan training batches correctly.
