What do you like best about Powell Intranet?

What we appreciate most about Powell is its ability to centralize information and tools in a single, simple, and ergonomic platform. As part of the PEPS project, born from the merger of several associations, Powell allowed us to create a common collaborative space to bring together collaborators around a shared work environment. Thanks to ready-to-use web parts, page templates, and the automation of certain components, we were able to quickly structure a clear and easy-to-maintain intranet, with more than 50 dedicated pages to organize information and simplify team contributions. What do you like best about Powell Intranet?

With Powell Intranet, we were able to launch the new intranet intended for more than 6,000 employees spread across various work environments (offices, airport terminals, and field teams). One of the major strengths of the solution is its ability to offer a simple and accessible experience, notably thanks to a fully responsive portal that can be accessed directly from professional phones.

We also greatly appreciated the solution's ability to support a true adoption strategy. For the launch, we combined several formats: teaser videos, explanatory motion design, emailing, on-site displays, tutorials, and an exchange community. The gamification feature integrated into Powell also encouraged employees to explore the intranet and complete their profiles.

What do you like best about Powell Intranet?

With Powell Intranet, we were able to transform our ESG strategy directly into an interactive, employee-friendly experience within our digital workplace. We particularly like the integrated ESG hub, where colleagues can explore our sustainability work through an SDG-based visual landscape. The combination of clear structure and intuitive design makes the topic easy to understand. I appreciate how easy it is to update content and keep our progress transparent without having to rebuild the entire structure. The visualization of the ESG strategy makes the complex topic of sustainability understandable, transparent, and interactive. Powell adds basic upgrades to SharePoint native features. Your investment is better spent on a SharePoint expert than Powell widgets that need a lot of paid hours to get customized in the slightest. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Powell Intranet?

I'm not sure what team others in this review section received, but we had a ton of customer support issues with the implementation team we worked with from Synergy. They gave us a basic product that required a lot of paid hours for any customization. We ended up paying a lot more than initially quoted on working hours that led to no real solutions. The Powell widgets look dated and wouldn't work as expected half of the time. Our internal team is much happier using our SharePoint intranet without the use of any Powell features. I can't think of anything positive. Our account rep with synergy was rude at best and always placed blame on the client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Powell Intranet?

Powell doesn't care about you as a customer - they only care about your money. They promised an amazing intranet... we were given a basic sharepoint intranet and told we had to pay extra for anything else (that we had originally been promised). The developers are unable to do basic things such as an events calendar (which you can do in basic sharepoint), employee recognition, folders for policies, etc. The "training" they provide can only be described as laughable. What do you like best about Powell Intranet?

Powell Manager is super easy to use, but also has an enormous number of features if you really want to dig into it. Their customer support is incredible and they are always willing to help me with some weird project or request that I might have. Our company relies on our intranet daily for many of their task and we have never had an outage. What do you like best about Powell Intranet?

Purpose-built solution that provides the best in class experience for content owners, contributors and consumers, with integrations that leverage AI for streamlined content creation. Powell Manager enables changes to be distributed quickly and easily across the entire experience.

Organizations can drive employee engagement using the pre-built tools that Powell Software has built into their platform — extending beyond the standard web-parts that come with SharePoint.

Search has been greatly improved as well, making it easier for employees to quickly search and find documents, news, people and other content across a variety of sites within and outside the experience. With the enhancement of Powell Buddy — an AI chatbot — users can further streamline search. Training the bot on specific documents or content enables organizations to build chat bots that target specific users or use cases, such as sales and product support.

Implementation is fairly simple, as it incorporates a lot of pre-built templates and solutions. A partner can help extend functionality, and create a more robust experience, particularly where some change management and best practices can be applied.

Because it's built on SharePoint, all your information remains secured inside your environment. Users are authenticated in using their Microsoft accounts, and can access the intranet from within Microsoft Teams, making frequency of use easy to ramp up.
