I love how the polls engage my audience, especially when presenting virtually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Activating the poll for your audience is not intuitive. It's confusing that there is an app, website, and poll location: the overall interface and interaction with the product needs to be simpler. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My favorite thing about Poll Everywhere is the ease with which anyone can respond to your poll from anywhere as long as they have an Internet connection and the poll code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Poll Creation in Poll Everywhere is clunky compared to other programs. There are limitations to the types of polls you can create and the ability to download the data from your polls is severely lacking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This software is a really interesting and creative one. With the ability to integrate with your presentation applications such as power point, keynote or google slides, you may interact your audience to vote for different things with their laptops or even with phone. Live results are shown which make it much more interesting for audience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are not much flexibility in design. When you want to add a poll everywhere slide in your power point, it doesn't have much affect to look like your current style. There is a solid color template for this app to add to your slides. In addition, the multiple choice is good that can be interacted with cell phone. However, for more detailed options like having your audience to select an image, they need to do with laptop or browse web not anymore with text. In addition, if there was an option that even without installing poll everywhere, you could see the results in your slides it was much better. Since, it is difficult when you are presenting somewhere and you are going to use their PC, to install it. At least, if they could make it portable, it was much better. We like poll everywhere because we can engage our students in surveying that empowers them in the decision-making process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Limitations in audience unless you pay for premium plans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Poll Everywhere has many different features and benefits. You can set a time limit on questions, get results immediately, and join recent presentations for quick access. Possibly my favorite feature is the fact that you can choose whether results are live or fixed. In other words, results will change as answers are giver or this can be turned off. Truly, I am unable to recall any time where I have experienced issues or downfalls of Poll Everywhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Poll Everywhere is a useful tool to engage audiences in any setting. Incorporating questions into any talk is highly beneficial to the audience improving their understanding of the material as they are forced to process what they just learned. There is no dozing off in these classes! Students tend to like using it too! Even if participants don't have the app, they can just text their answer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be somewhat difficult to figure out how to incorporate the questions into a talk and to use both on the presenter and audience sides on first use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
From the first time I participated in a group using Poll Everywhere, I was hooked. There's something about being in a group and watching the data change that make an impact. It's easy to deploy and perfect for a group setting. You'll see more honest feedback. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Haven't found anything outside of if a participant doesn't have a phone. Still new to the platform though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Poll everywhere is amazing simply because you can use it, everywhere. As long as participants have the code, they can vote in a poll. This makes it easy to collect information without a hassle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Poll Everywhere would be more efficient if it had a feature that shows exactly who is apart of the sample group. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love the Google Forms plug-in that allows me to do in-the-moment polls! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The freemium product has a very limited functionality. It would be awesome to have a bit more functionality to see how much more of a value add there is. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Poll Everywhere offers many different question types to allow for different ways of collecting information. Polls are browser based and mobile friendly, so we've never encountered a situation where someone couldn't participate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The controls for managing and activating a poll can be confusing. I'd also like to see some enhancements to conditional questions. These complaints can be addressed with future updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Integrates seamlessly with Google slides presentations Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A little cumbersome to set up, you have to enter the poll questions and answers in their website versus in google slides directly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Polling functionality works quite well and seems reliable for all browsers (mobile or desktop) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Organization engages in super aggressive marketing/upsell that includes phone calls and emails (opt out seemingly ignored) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think Poll Everywhere is so easy to use and fun when presenting statistics to teachers and classmates within a fitness industry. It is free and easy to work with. My laptop can handle a lot of questions at once and because it is free, I can change the type of questions for classmates to answer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes I make really long polls and it lags my laptop. Before presentations I have to come early and set up. I think this is because I have a small laptop. When I simply take it out of my laptop and put it on the building's computer's desktop, it is easier to use. There is no more lag and it is fast to go through. It is easy to use. Students do not need to download an app. I can easily creat polls or word clouds. Provides a way for students to participate without taking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not easy to sort out creates activities . Once created difficult to locate the task Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really like how easy it is to create a variety of questions with Poll Everywhere. I've used other polling platforms in the past, and Poll Everywhere just offers the best variety of question types that I've seen, and is also extremely user friendly! I was able to figure out how to use it within a few minutes of teaching my first class - it's so easy! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My only complaint about Poll Everywhere is that the setting for automatic unlock/lock of poll questions can only unlock and lock questions for 5 minute intervals - For example, I can't set a question to automatically unlock at 1:57 pm, only at 1:55 pm or 2 pm. Overall Poll Everywhere is easy to use and has a decent number of features. I appreciate being able to use a variety of different question formats (e.g., multiple choice, short answer, word cloud). Moreover, their plug-in to use with powerpoint is very helpful. I love that polls can be completed both via text and online. I use this product mostly as an educational tool. I teach in higher education and I have found this to be useful and mostly easy to use to poll students quickly to determine their understanding of class concepts. Students have given me the feedback that they think it is fun to do polls in class and find it easy to do them on their phone via text message rather than needing to purchase clickers. The basic free version of Poll Everywhere is limited, especially in regard to the number people that can respond to the poll in real-time. Additionally, the plug-in for power-point can be buggy and result in your poll information displayed being cut off or not updating in real-time. I suggest pay for the full version if you want to use it with larger groups or access to more features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really love Polleverywhere to use in presentations and get feedback from students! It really helps to make the session interactive and gain input from those in the crowd! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing that is kind of difficult to use with the system is having to download the plugin. Sometimes when using shared computers you aren't always the administrator and may not be able to install the plug in before your presentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to use, allows me to quickly find out where my class's understanding is at Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish you could set it so that only registered participants could ever answer your polls, instead of having to set this with each poll. Also, generating reports is confusing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Poll Everywhere makes it extremely easy to create and display polls. The interface is clean, navigation intuitive, and instructions easy to understand. I have used it both as an adjunct professor and as a marketer. Despite having different demographics in both instances, both groups of people were able to easily submit their answers via text message or internet browser.
I love that there is a free subscription for educators (and students). As of writing this in May 2018, users can collect up to 40 answers with the free version, which works perfectly for me since my class sizes are ~20 students. My students have also commented that it's a nice feature to have during lecture as it helps keep them focused in an engaging way.
There are various polls you can choose from -- multiple choice, Q&A, Word Cloud, Rank Order, Survey, Clickable Image, etc. In the two years I have been using Poll Everywhere, they have doubled the types of polls you can choose from and create, demonstrating PollEv's attention to growth and innovation. You can also group and categorize poll questions, which has worked perfectly for me as it's allowed me to group poll questions according to the day and lecture.
Another great feature? PollEv's integration with PowerPoint. The integration is easy to download and use, and it allows me to seamlessly embed polls into my PowerPoint. This way, I don't have to leave the PowerPoint and pull up my internet browser. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are many enticing features that come with the paid subscription -- features I wish I had. However, the paid subscription is out of my budget, currently priced at $349 per semester. While I love PollEv, I'm not sure I would get $700 use out of it for the year. Otherwise, there's not much else I dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Customization of questions and resetting of the polls. Every semester I have the same topics with slightly different wording. I try to not let previous students tell other students the answer to the polls that I post. Resetting and making subtle changes without starting from scratch makes this easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The long URL or text message to sign in for the first time. Perhaps this can be shortened. There is a lag time between answering the poll and signing in. When I've strolled around and observed what was taking so long, it was due to students trying to sign on the first time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are many different types of polls to pick from and use. I have used this in my classroom, and the word cloud was really fun for my students because they could see which words and phrases were used the most. Students could submit complete sentence responses, and I could go through and check for student understanding, but everything was anonymous for the students (I could check who wrote each sentence though). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Since I teach math, some of the features are hard to use, and math symbols do not show up well. For example, student's could not type in the degree symbol (or if they tried to, random letters and numbers popped up on the screen). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
