What I dislike about Paylocity is that some features can be a bit slow or complicated to navigate, especially when switching between different sections like reports and approvals. I like the ease of use and the report writing features in Paylocity. It's great that I can create almost any report that's not standard, and if the information is in the system, I can get it out without having to call or pay for custom reporting. I love the clean look and interface of the system. The Paylocity app is the best HR/Payroll app to date that my employees and I have experienced. Account managers change frequently, and reports aren’t always easy to locate or access. It’s usually easy to get ahold of an agent, but their knowledge and ability to help isn’t consistent. There are quite a few add-on options that make the system so much better; however, if you want consistently knowledgeable assistance or a consistent account manager, you have to upgrade. The company sold themselves as a technology company, but the tech has been slow to catch up. I really miss the chat feature, when I ended up with a CSR who wasn’t very knowledgeable, it was helpful to use chat for non-critical issues so I could keep working while waiting for answers. I like the look of Paylocity. However, a lot of other features I do not like. I thought the integration was clunky. I work with onboarding and I like that, but there are complications internally and externally. I do not believe that there is an AI / Intelligence feature. I am also not sure about the pricing but our COO went with Paylocity because it was cheaper than Paycom. Overall, the performance of the platform is fine, but, it does sign you out randomly. I think that there are a lot more manual steps, which seems outdated. There is no AI feature for help. Customer service is hard to get a hold of. The implementation team and process did not go great. I think that Paylocity isn't necessarily user-friendly and it is hard for us to coach and lead others in our organization as our office is stationed in one place and many of our employees are in different cities/counties. Really, I find customer service is the thing that I struggle the most with Paylocity. When I call the line for a question, I'm on hold for about ten minutes before I can even speak with somebody or if I email or reply to an email sometimes I don't receive a response back or it's not timely. It also takes a while to get to the group past the initial customer service person that you actually need to speak with, like the tax service team or the implementation team. Many times I feel like things fall through the cracks between the different teams within Paylocity and it getting assigned. I also don't love the complexity to the review process. Despite the abundance of functionality with the system, there is a lack of support and information on how to utilize all areas of the product. The Knowledgebase is confusing to use and does not update as the system updates. The system functionality updates and communication on these changes are minimal. For example, most recently the User Access area has moved to the Person Record, Admins are now no longer able to manually update user communication preferences or reset passwords with as much each. We had to reach out to our account manager to support understanding this change as communication on this change was not clear or readily available. We also identified an issue with this change as it relates to terminated user communication preferences. This is just one example, but the trend continues with many other functions of the product that we find increasingly frustrated. There have also been a few instances where changes have happened to the platform and when we reached out to our account manager they indicated that there was no change, however, what we were experiencing was a change, there was no explanation or solution.
