What is NetSuite, and what problem is it built to solve?

NetSuite is used as an ERP system that brings financial and operational information into one place. Teams use it to manage accounting and business processes, connect functions across departments, and maintain a shared source of business data.

What languages does NetSuite support?

NetSuite supports 21 languages, including Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Czech, Danish, English, and others.

What company sizes and industries is NetSuite the best fit for?

NetSuite appears to suit a range of organization sizes, with the strongest fit among mid-market teams. Positive user feedback also clusters in several industries:
  • Company size — Mid-market: Teams with 51–1,000 employees are the most prominent group.
  • Company size — Small business: Organizations with 50 or fewer employees are also well represented.
  • Company size — Enterprise: Organizations with more than 1,000 employees use it as well.
  • Industry — Manufacturing: Users describe applying it to finance, inventory, and operational processes.
  • Industry — Nonprofit organization management: Teams use it for financial management, reporting, and related operations.
  • Industry — Retail, wholesale, and software/IT: These sectors also appear among the recurring industry groups.

How long does it take to implement NetSuite across a team?

Implementation timelines vary with the scope of the rollout, but six to twelve months is the most commonly reported range. Other teams describe both shorter and longer deployments.
Time to go live Relative frequency
6–12 months Most common
3–6 months Also common
More than 12 months Also reported
1–3 months Reported less often
Under 1 month Occasionally reported

What customer support options does NetSuite provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Support is available through self-service resources and direct channels, including email, phone, and chat, with 24/7 live-rep support. The experience is mixed: users value knowledgeable, responsive help when they get it, while others describe slow responses, difficulty reaching the right expertise, or issues that remain unresolved.

What is the experience like for teams switching to NetSuite from another tool?

Switching to NetSuite has helped teams bring work together on a more connected platform, particularly when older accounting tools or fragmented systems no longer supported their reporting, growth, or operational needs. Users describe clearer access to shared data, broader functionality, and more integrated financial and business processes, though the transition can involve a substantial learning curve and careful setup. Prior systems mentioned include QuickBooks and Sage products, as well as legacy ERP and accounting tools.

What features or capabilities could make NetSuite even more useful?

Users would find NetSuite more useful with easier reporting and a smoother day-to-day experience, especially when building saved searches or handling complex workflows. Recurring improvement requests include:
  • Reporting and searches: Make reports and saved searches simpler to build, with more flexible drill-downs, clearer field selection, and fewer limitations.
  • Navigation and usability: Modernize the interface and reduce the number of steps needed for common tasks.
  • Performance: Improve response and loading times, particularly with large data volumes, reports, scripts, and custom workflows.
  • Built-in functionality and connectivity: Expand native capabilities and prebuilt connectors so teams rely less on add-ons or custom workarounds.

"A complete package for your small business solution."
4/5
What do you like best about NetSuite?

The UI is easy to use, and the process flow is straightforward. Audit trails are simple to follow, and the overall experience isn’t too technical. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetSuite?

There are some loopholes, the process can be even more smooth with adding some missing features. the setups for terms are vague. reports don’t work the way they should and they are not very easy to customize so we need to relay on saved searches. More options for approval workflows need needs to be there and they should be user friendly which can customize according to best practices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Better Sales Visibility, but Some Workflows Could Be Simpler"
4.5/5
What do you like best about NetSuite?

What I like best about NetSuite is having customer information, opportunities, and quotes connected in one place. As a Sales Operations Manager, that visibility helps me track where deals stand, identify follow-up needs, and keep our team aligned.

For example, linking quotes directly to opportunities makes it easier to follow a deal from the initial discussion through the final outcome. I also appreciate the customization options. We use custom fields, sales statuses, and saved searches to organize information around our processes and highlight records that need attention. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetSuite?

The biggest downside for me is the complexity of some sales workflows. In our configuration, certain status changes cannot be reversed, and revisiting a lead marked for future follow-up can require copying the record. That adds extra steps and makes maintaining a clear customer history more difficult.

I would like simpler navigation and more flexibility when handling everyday sales scenarios. The customization options are valuable, but they also require careful setup to keep the process straightforward for the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"NetSuite Makes Reporting Fast, Organized, and Beginner-Friendly"
5/5
What do you like best about NetSuite?

The day to day use of NetSuite allows me to build reports under a specific time frame of expenses I am looking for. The way it categorizes all of the activities is helpful to keep it organized and maintained. The integration of AI will help my organization with extra checks in terms of amounts and ensuring the data is compliant and ties to our manual work or vice versa. Whenever looking up for any sort of data or even pulling reports, it is quick. I believe the pricing is worth it since this system is implemented through different teams, not just our finance team but also our accounting which allows us to view the data throughout our different departments. To set up NetSuite was easy and efficient, as well as figuring out how to use the system, there's always someone who helps assist us with any questions. We've connected NetSuite with ADP which helps us with payroll assistance rather than doing it manually. It's a smooth system that is very beginner friendly and easy to use once consistently used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetSuite?

Some of the downsides on NetSuite would be how outdated it seems in terms of viewing and navigation. I do feel like it could be updated. We are also currently implementing NSPB (Planning & Budgeting) for a while now and believe it's a bit more different than NetSuite. We wish it were as beginner friendly as NetSuite. "Netsuite - cloud based ERP with much potential"
4.5/5
What do you like best about NetSuite?

Cloud based ERP system with much potential. Many connectors and APIs are out there to connect Netsuite to other systems and data flows. Widely used and vast customer base help make it easier to connect with user groups and various consultants. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetSuite?

Some of the functions are less than stellar, not always created with industry standards, they are created for some customer with needs but those needs do not fit the needs of all potential users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Processes and Easier Reconciliation with NetSuite"
5/5
What do you like best about NetSuite?

It has streamlined several of our processes. Easy access to data and finding information about specific vendors, specific payments, and specific GL entries. The reconciliation process has become easier. It is much more efficient than our previous software that we had for 20+ years. The implementation process was a lot of work but the NetSuite consultants were fabulous to work with and very responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetSuite?

The report constraints. You can customize reports to an extent, but there are limitations. We have to manipulate the reports slightly after export. Because we require certain things in our printed reports, this has been the only real drawback. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Search, Helpful Imports, and Easy Drag-and-Drop Attachments"
4.5/5
What do you like best about NetSuite?

The robust search function saves me time when I need to refer back to related transactions or review transaction history. I also like having the option to use much shorter internal IDs instead of long account/coding names. The import functionality is helpful, and I appreciate how easy it is to add multiple attachments with drag-and-drop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetSuite?

I dislike how complicated and non-intuitive it is to create a simple report when I need to drill down to information below the general journal entry level. I once spent hours trying to pull detail for all journal entries that hit a given GL account, but it only returned the lines that hit the GL account—not all the lines from the entire journal entry, which is what I was looking for. I’d like to be able to use AI within NetSuite to create a report with the content and formatting I want, instead of going through the lengthy, cumbersome process of selecting parameters one by one from an unbelievably long dropdown lists & trying to decipher without in-window helps what different versions of the same field name actually represent. "Powerful Integrations and Custom Reports, but Occasional Downtime and Slowdowns"
3.5/5
What do you like best about NetSuite?

The upside of using NetSuite is that it’s already well established. Because of that, there are a lot of applications and software we can sync or link with NetSuite, such as JP Morgan, BlackLine Reconciliation, Zuora, Coupa, and others I may not even know about yet. It’s also easy to navigate.

I’m not entirely sure whether the pricing is expensive or not, but the fact that the company was using NetSuite even before I joined says a lot about its affordability and overall quality. Setup was easy and smooth as well; since it’s online, there’s really no downloading needed.

Another thing I like is how quickly it runs processes like depreciation and amortization—it’s very fast and smooth most of the time. What I like most is that I can customize my reports based on how I need to present them, and I can schedule them to be emailed automatically without having to be online when they need to be sent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetSuite?

Well sometimes it's the integration issues and downtime issues. One minute it's fast, then the next you find out that the process run is stuck. The integration issue has long been an issue of ours ever since they had a downtime for updating the system. These issues are causing us delays and a lot of manual intervention. Sadly, when you ask a NetSuite IT, they don't really give you an answer right away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful ERP with Flexibility but a Learning Curve"
5/5
What do you like best about NetSuite?

What I like best about NetSuite is having accounting and financial information centralized in one system. I regularly use it for journal entries, AP, bank activity, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ability to drill down from a financial report directly to the underlying transactions is particularly helpful when researching variances or supporting balances.

I also find the CSV import functionality and saved searches very useful. They allow us to streamline repetitive processes and automate transaction uploads that would otherwise require significant manual entry. NetSuite is flexible enough to support multiple entities, departments, and classes, which is especially valuable in a more complex accounting environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetSuite?

One of the biggest challenges with NetSuite is that some processes are not very intuitive, particularly when working with financial reporting and CSV imports. Import errors can sometimes be difficult to troubleshoot because the error messages do not always clearly identify the underlying problem.

Financial reporting can also require significant customization to obtain the information in the exact format needed. I would like to see stronger and more user-friendly reporting tools, especially for cash flow analysis and financial statement preparation.

NetSuite is very powerful, but the learning curve can be steep, and relatively simple tasks can sometimes require multiple steps or customized solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"NetSuite: Easy-to-Use Platform That Scales Our Business with Built-In AI"
5/5
What do you like best about NetSuite?

NetSuite provides us with a platform for growth for our company. It's easy to use and we run our entire business on it. With NetSuite Next, the AI features are built right into the system, which will enable us to scale by automating tasks within our ERP without adding FTEs.

Our Advanced Customer Support Team is amazing too! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetSuite?

If I had to point to one problem, it would boil down to the fact that this is a 100% cloud-based system. If you're coming from a system that lived in your datacenter or data closet, you will see a difference in speed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
