When it comes to choosing an API platform, as with an other product, there are lot of options with all major vendors offering something unique. For me the most important feature that distinguishes Anypoint Platform from the crowd is that it covers the full life cycle from the desing to the deployment and ultimately the management of APIs. Rich support for the standards like RAML helps designer start prototyping the APIs without worrying about the implementation. Eclipse based studio is a powerful tool for the developers to write integration flows, the rich library of connectors help them complete the API implementation much faster than a traditional development model. Finally with cloudhub the deployment and management of APIs are simpler and easier than ever. **What do you dislike about MuleSoft Anypoint Platform?** The license is very expensive (for a big organization, it is very recommended to have an Enterprise License), in a data flow, only one object contains all activities data (input/output), sometimes we have to write xml because the graphical designer of flows is not responsive. **Recommendations to others considering MuleSoft Anypoint Platform:** Mulesoft Anypoint Platform is well suited if we want to have a complete solution which contains both an ESB and API Management and API led connectivity. **What problems is MuleSoft Anypoint Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** MuleSoft Anypoint Platform is being used as an ESB (integration bus). I have reviewed several others and all of them are very code oriented requiring a rather steep learning curve just to deploying your first project. With Mule and the drag-n-drop Anypoint Studio deploying your first project is very simple. Performing transformations also is very simply with the DataWeave component. This component is very flexible. Its use can be as simple as dragging one field from the input to the desired location in the output. Or it can be complex allowing you to develop functions to retrieve other data, manipulate the provided data or create new data. **What do you dislike about MuleSoft Anypoint Platform?** designer had some issues with IE, Mozilla. Runtime manager hangs. Reporting of flow analytics should be more in depth. API designer doesn't provide all the features of comparitive tools like swagger. Public portal design should have been more options oriented. **Recommendations to others considering MuleSoft Anypoint Platform:** It's a great platform but new so MuleSoft may not fit all of your needs. However, they are rapidly adding new features and open to working with you to make the platform fit your needs so be open to it as a platform since it is constantly changing and improving for the better. **What problems is MuleSoft Anypoint Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** While the Anypoint Platform is a newcomer to API management tools, it still manages to be feature rich and offers a great deal of resources for both API development and deployment needs. As an ESB, it offers a plethora of connectors for making our various enteprise systems work with each other while exerting minimal effort to do so.
