"Effortless Integration and Flexibility with Mirth Connect"
What do you like best about Mirth Connect?

What I like best about Mirth Connect is how simple and flexible it is. It makes it easy to connect different healthcare systems, even when they use different data formats. You can quickly build, test, and monitor interfaces without much complexity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mirth Connect?

One thing I dislike about Mirth Connect is that the user interface feels outdated and not very intuitive. Also, debugging complex channels can be time-consuming, especially when handling large message volumes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable, Scalable, and Essential: Over 15 Years of Success with Mirth Connect"
What do you like best about Mirth Connect?

What I like best about Mirth Connect is its flexibility, reliability, and comprehensive support for healthcare interoperability standards. We have been working with Mirth Connect on a daily basis for over 15 years, and it continues to be a key pillar of our integration and interoperability projects.

One of the most helpful aspects is the ease and speed of implementation and integration, which significantly reduces time-to-production. Thanks to its intuitive channel-based architecture and powerful built-in tools, we can develop, test, and deploy new interfaces in a very agile and efficient way — a critical factor in healthcare environments where timelines are often tight.

Other key upsides include:

Strong support for healthcare-specific protocols and standards such as HL7 v2, FHIR, CDA, and more.

A versatile scripting engine that allows for customization at any stage of the message workflow.

Scalability – Mirth performs equally well in small-scale and large-scale deployments.

Excellent documentation and community, complemented by strong commercial support from NextGen.

The GUI-based development environment accelerates onboarding and simplifies maintenance.

In summary, Mirth Connect is not just a tool for us – it is an integral part of our daily operations and a cornerstone of our healthcare interoperability strategy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mirth Connect?

While our overall experience with Mirth Connect has been overwhelmingly positive, there are a few areas where we see room for improvement:

Version upgrades can require careful planning, especially in complex environments. While stability is generally excellent, some changes between versions may introduce breaking changes or require revalidation of existing channels.

The user interface, although functional and familiar, could benefit from some modernization in terms of usability and visual design, especially for teams used to more contemporary development tools.

That said, these are relatively minor concerns in the context of the platform’s overall strengths. Mirth Connect remains one of the most solid, versatile, and trusted tools in our interoperability toolkit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All you can do Healthcare API solution"
What do you like best about Mirth Connect?

Built in capability of parsing Healthcare standards like HL7 , HL7 v3.0 (CCDA) , X12(EDI), JSON etc. without worrying about configuring any add-ons. Also the low code capabilities to configure continuous data transformation and mapping rules is really optimal in getting Healthcare API onboarded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mirth Connect?

Bad data scalability and reporting capabilities. Mirth does not have explicit reporting module to generate custom reporting on real time data being integrated. This pain point is true for all competitive tools in the market as well. Although Mirth does have capabilities of creating custom metadata that can be used to scale real time data being integrated, it is not optimal in terms of requirement and also it has some performance impact Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
