It is very easy to use. I have used Iguana for years and have rarely had to contact support. The times I have, they have been very helpful and resolved my issues quickly. Each new upgrade has only improved the usability and function of Iguana. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the downsides of Iguana is the way it stores logs. At least in my scenario, it will fill a log drive quickly and I have to maintain a smaller number of days in my history. I have had to create a secondary database to store the log files for future reference. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Iguana is easy to use and has great tools for analysis, evaluation, troubleshooting, etc.
It is hosted by the company using it, which enables both on-premise and cloud-based implementations. This is very powerful, especially for outside US implementations and minimizing regulatory and data privacy/protection requirement challenges. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Would like to have more FHIR support and tools. Would also like the ability for Interfaceware to provide more Services. For example, to help offset company resources and enhance expertise, especially regarding EHR integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Iguana interface engine is powerful in its simplicity to provide data integration between our EMR and pharmacies, labs, clearinghouses, etc. One of the most appealing features is the ease of starting and stopping channels and the ability to review errors in a human-readable format. I am not a Developer nor a "subject matter expert" on Iguana, so it is difficult to answer this question. If anything, I would like to know if there is a way to identify which other channels or instances uses a particular shared lua. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Reusable integration code with endpoints for https / llp / sftp and file manipulation.
Many pre-existing modules for a wide range of existing interface specifications. JSON/XML/HL7 V2/HL7 V3 (CCS) / FHIR Client APIs / http post and get libraries for any restful web services.
Integrations that can be coded once and deployed to a number of agencies with only configuration changes that drive each customer's customizations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Alerts on errors and no standard scheduler controller to cause integrations to run at specific times. However, we coded one ourselves in an iguana channel. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Iguana is stable, reliable, powerful, logical, linear, and easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside I can think of is that Iguana isn't as "well known" as some other products and to the extent that it can become a barrier for people who are skeptical of integrating with Iguana (favoring more "well known" products like Mulesoft) and despite whatever folks like me can offer in terms of experience with and evidence of its value. What I like most is the flexibility for creating and updating custom interface channels. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing to dislike. Great support, very reliable, easy to troubleshoot issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like most about Iguana is its simplistic build which makes support and maintenance less of a headache, and the use of Lua for translation/filter code, being an easy language to learn for anyone familiar with any other programming or scripting languages, allows us to customize interface channels quickly with the necessary complexity needed. Dealing with Interfaceware staff is always a pleasant experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Iguana currently has scaling, and "high-availability" shortcomings; its current message logging system has reliability and efficiency issues when dealing with large messages (HL7 containing encoded PDFs, etc.) and large volumes of data. While I like Lua, the language lacks the functionality and performance needed at times. There is also the issue of needing multiple Iguana servers to spread out channel loads; this makes support and configuration changes much more cumbersome. Ideally, Interfaceware would improve these issues by allowing the Iguana software to better utilize multi-core CPU server architecture that can be load balanced between 2 servers. Iguana is a very easy product to use, the training options and extensive knowledge base articles explain how to get started on the product. The ongoing support by the Interfaceware team is reliable and quick to reply to any needs. This is a product that works for both small companies (we started with only 3 interfaces) or huge companies. The reporting options are very limited and must be built by your own team, unless you have the enterprise package. There are few functionality updates with the product over a number of years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The speed, primarily due to lua's efficiency is great, but from my perspective the dashboard is the best feature Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This is a tricky question to answer because I'm not sure I dislike anything. For our purposes, it does everything we need and efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The business model is built on service! This is refreshing and puts me in the mindset to look for opportunities to engage.
We are not a number – Your team is viewed as an extension of our local resources. In today’s Customer/Vendor relationships, this is all but unheard of.
Iguana is a solid solution – With 25+ years of message processing experience in-house, Iguana is extremely stable and has handled everything we have asked of it with ease! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have no negative feedback. Keep doing what you are doing today, and do not lose who you are as the business grows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
