What is Mindbody, and what problem is it built to solve?

Mindbody is an AI-driven SaaS platform serving fitness, wellness, and lifestyle businesses. It supports the operators and providers delivering in-person experiences and helps consumers discover them.

What languages does Mindbody support?

Mindbody supports 6 languages, including English, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese, as well as Spanish.

What company sizes and industries is Mindbody the best fit for?

Mindbody’s positive experience is most concentrated among smaller businesses in health, wellness, and fitness, with mid-market organizations also represented.
  • Company size: Small businesses with 50 or fewer employees are the clearest cluster.
  • Industry: Health, wellness, and fitness businesses are especially prominent.

How long does it take to implement Mindbody across a team?

Getting Mindbody live is most often reported as taking less than a month, though some teams describe a longer rollout.
Time to go live Relative frequency
Less than 1 month Most common
1–3 months Also reported
3–6 months or longer Less common

What customer support options does Mindbody provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Mindbody provides support through phone, chat, and email, alongside self-serve FAQs and knowledge resources. The experience can be very helpful, with users appreciating quick, knowledgeable guidance, but it is not consistent: some find support slow or unable to resolve more complex issues.

What is the experience like for teams switching to Mindbody from another tool?

Switching to Mindbody has often been about bringing more business operations together and getting capabilities that were missing or limited in a prior system. Users describe moving from a range of scheduling, booking, salon, and studio-management tools to Mindbody for broader options in areas such as memberships, payments, marketing, payroll, and client booking; the transition can feel worthwhile, but the larger feature set may take time to learn.

What tools and platforms does Mindbody integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

Mindbody offers 36 integrations, with users connecting it to tools for fitness discovery, marketing, payments, and websites.
  • Fitness discovery and booking: ClassPass and Wellhub.
  • Marketing and customer engagement: Attentive and Constant Contact.
  • Payments: Clover and Square.
  • Websites and online stores: Shopify.
These connections can help businesses reach potential clients, automate outreach, and connect booking or payment workflows. The experience varies: some integrations are useful once running, while setup, reliability, or coordination between systems can be frustrating.

What features or capabilities could make Mindbody even more useful?

Mindbody could be more useful with a simpler day-to-day experience and more flexible tools for managing information and client journeys.
  • Make navigation and setup clearer, with fewer steps and less hunting through settings for routine tasks.
  • Offer more customizable reporting so teams can find and combine the metrics they need without workarounds.
  • Smooth out client booking and checkout, including guest and family bookings and more flexible booking filters.
  • Improve consistency and synchronization across the platform, apps, website widgets, and connected tools.

How useful do Mindbody users find its AI features in everyday use?

Mindbody’s AI tools are useful for quick guidance and handling common client questions, but they are less dependable for complex or specific issues.
  • AI help and assistance: Users describe getting help finding settings, navigating the system, and troubleshooting routine questions.
  • AI concierge and messaging: Users describe it answering common questions and helping clients with bookings or outreach, including when staff are unavailable.
These tools can save time and reduce the need to contact support, though responses may be inaccurate, circular, or incomplete, so users sometimes need to check the result or step in themselves.

"Decent Tool, Needs Improvement on Features"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Mindbody?

I like how Mindbody helps me keep track of everything in one place, especially for managing daily schedules for my 10 stylists in the salon. I also value the texting clients feature and how it keeps track of purchases in the salon. I also appreciate the ease of rebooking clients when you select the "prebook" option on the current appointment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

The chatbot needs improvement on its responses. The scheduling software does not allow us to put in notes about when someone cancels and why they cancel. The reports are also difficult to understand. In the lower tier membership, the reports are very lack luster in the amount of information that is provided, and it isn't until you upgrade to the top tier membership before the reports are meaningful enough to work from. We are a hair salon, and alot of the features in Mindbody are not tailored to our business which makes the performance of the system less than ideal. We do not use any of the integrations that are specific to gyms or spas that use memberships, and many of the support documents do not lock into salons as users. If they could have helpers that specialize in the specific field of business that is provided then that could help the users even more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Helpful Setup Support That Gets You Customer-Ready Fast"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Mindbody?

What I like best is how helpful everyone is when it comes to setting up the app and getting it ready for customers to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

It would be helpful to make the platform a bit more user-friendly for providers and to notify them about appointments via text messages, not just email, since emails can be easy to miss. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Nicole Tully of Mindbody

Thank you for sharing your feedback—we’re glad our team has been helpful in setting up your app and preparing it for your customers. We appreciate your suggestions for making the provider experience more user-friendly and adding text-message appointment notifications. We’ll share your feedback with our product team as we continue improving the platform.

"All-in-One Tools I Love in Mindbody—Especially Marketing and Client Records"
5/5
What do you like best about Mindbody?

I like everything Mindbody offers, especially the marketing tools and the client record tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

I am not a fan of the booking site that mindbody uses. The app makes booking easier for clients, but not everyone wants an extra app on their phone. I feel it should be easier to book using my online link as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Disappointing Onboarding and Support - Billing, App, and Widget Issues with Mindbody"

What do you like best about Mindbody?

Integrations onyl, nothing else i guess. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

Choosing Mindbody as the reservation platform for our Pilates studio has, unfortunately, been a very disappointing experience.

Because Mindbody is one of the biggest providers in this space, we expected a smooth onboarding process and reliable support. Instead, we ran into multiple issues from the start, and several of them are still unresolved.

Before signing, we were told we could have our own branded app. After we signed the agreement, we were informed that, as a freelancer, we are not eligible due to Apple Store policy. This was a key requirement for us, and other platforms have confirmed that this is actually possible regardless of legal structure.

Onboarding itself was also problematic. We are based in Amsterdam, yet we were assigned an onboarding representative in a completely different time zone. This made communication difficult, with meeting slots as late as 9 PM. On top of that, our VAT settings were configured incorrectly, which led to incorrect invoices during our first month. The system also doesn’t allow proper invoice cancellation, creating unnecessary administrative complications.

We also had to discover on our own that there are two different versions of the Mindbody website integration widget. We weren’t informed about this and ended up implementing the wrong one, which negatively affected the checkout experience and likely caused us to lose customers.

We have repeatedly requested proper support or a dedicated account manager to help correct the setup, but most responses have been automated emails asking whether we still have the same problem, without any real resolution.

Customer support has been inconsistent overall, with different representatives giving conflicting answers and often saying that limitations are simply “how the system works.”

In the end, this experience has created unnecessary operational difficulties at a critical stage of our business. We hope Mindbody will take responsibility and improve the onboarding and support process for new studios. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Attentive Features, but Segmentation and Intuitiveness Need Work"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Mindbody?

I love the Attentive app/marketing tool. It has a lot of functionality like emails and flows and welcome offers. My rep for Attentive, Nayara, is EXCELLENT! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

There isn't an easy way to segment your list by type of client or prospect from what I've seen. And it isn't very intuitive Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Thank you Angela"

What do you like best about Mindbody?

My experience with Mindbody hasn’t always been the best, to be honest. I’ve often found it difficult to reach the right people and get the support I needed. However, Angela Sarabia completely changed that perspective for me.

From the moment she started helping me, Angela has had a huge impact on my experience with Mindbody. She has made the process feel much more balanced, professional, and positive. Her responsiveness, professionalism, and willingness to help have made a real difference, and I truly appreciate the support she has provided. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One Platform That Keeps Our Processes Under One Umbrella"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Mindbody?

Having all needed processes under one umbrella. I just need to utilize them all more effectively! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

My biggest problem comes with members who have declined payments, expired or terminated memberships. They scan their card. It beeps. But the visit will not record. I feel like this should be an easy fix but nobody knows how. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Nicole Tully of Mindbody

Thanks for your thoughtful feedback. It’s great to hear Mindbody is helping you stay organized as you explore more of the platform. We’re sorry you’ve had trouble recording visits for members with payment or membership issues. Our Support team would be glad to help troubleshoot this with you. There is a setting to alert desk staff to member issues, which will sound a chime and flash the screen when a consumer scans their card if there is no membership to record a visit on. See the link below for details on how to check that setting. You could also consider a staff-facing monitor to duplicate self sign-in so that staff at the desk can see what happens for each incoming client's scan. https://support.mindbodyonline.com/s/article/Class-and-Course-Options-screen-Booking-Sign-in-Policies?language=en_US#Member_Issues
