Earlier, handling emails, documents, presentations, and file storage used to feel disconnected. Now everything is in one ecosystem, which makes work much smoother. It also solves version control issues. Before, we had multiple copies of the same file, and it was confusing. With OneDrive and real-time collaboration, everyone works on the same file, which saves time and avoids mistakes. For me, it mainly benefits in productivity. I have been using Microsoft products for in excess of 25 years personally within our businesses, and I still personally think Microsoft makes some of the best software applications. Five years ago, we upgraded our servers and mail services from on-premises equipment to Office365 cloud solutions. This change was very simple and one of the best decisions we have made. We still have full control over our services without the hassle of owning expensive servers and licensing, and of course, the upkeep and maintenance of the equipment and services. We login to the 365 portal a few times a week, to check on settings, or make required updates. We utilise most of the Office 365 services available to us, and we have very few service-level issues. - The software is simple to use - Very cost-effective compared to legacy solutions - Robust - Innovation - Microsoft are always looking at new tools or making existing processes better - Integration - Integrates well with other 3rd parties software - Great mobile Apps for access on the move - Cloud-based, thus reducing ownership costs. We had one technical issue with a registered Domain on the Office 365 platform, even after deleting the domain it was showing up as still being connected on the Microsoft Exchange server. I have contacted support a dozen times and still no fix to date. Apart from the above issue the support has been excellent, the products are robust and you get a lot of bang for your dollar. I couldn't imagine getting my work done without them. I have tried using low-cost/free competitors, but they aren't in the same league. I write status reports, track attendance, calculate hours worked into PTO earned, just about everything in my day-to-day is in Word or Excel. I also use Power Point for the occasional presentation, or for items that require just a quick graphical touch. Office 365 just seems to work, and it allows more flexibility than the freebie apps. I am still not a fan of the menu ribbon that was added a few years ago. Sometimes, it can be difficult to find the functionality that I'm searching for. Also, in Word, if you try to add images to documents, all sorts of crazy formatting errors can occur. I think that's something we've all learned to live with at this point.
