**What do you like best about Innovations?**

When we first started with Innovations, our lab was in my basement. It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come since then, but the beauty of Innovations is that it grows with you—scaling seamlessly from a single workstation to a full production floor.

One of the absolute highlights each year is the annual User Group Meeting, usually in Clearwater, Florida. It’s not just a conference—it’s like a family reunion for optical professionals. The Innovations staff aren’t just great at what they do; they genuinely care about our success. They’ve solved countless work tickets for us with precision and speed, and every time I see them in person, it feels like catching up with old friends who “get” the optical world on a deep level.

For example, we are scheduled for an MEI machine installation, and Innovations went above and beyond. They assigned us a dedicated technician to be remotely available the same day as the MEI team—proactively ensuring perfect integration and zero downtime. That’s the kind of forward-thinking, customer-first approach you just don’t see everywhere.

What I love most is that Innovations connects all of our machines, regardless of brand, breaking down the walls of proprietary systems and letting everything work together seamlessly.

In short, Innovations isn’t just software—it’s the backbone of our operation. The people behind it are like family, and I couldn’t imagine running our lab without them.

**What do you dislike about Innovations?**

I would like to see the lens SKU database updated more quickly, ideally in alignment with new product launches, so we can begin surfacing and offering the latest lenses to customers as soon as they become available.

**What problems is Innovations solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Innovations has solved some of our biggest operational challenges by networking all of our machines—regardless of brand—into one seamless system. It tracks production by employee and work area, giving us clear insight into performance and helping us identify where we can improve. Job management is streamlined, so we always know exactly where every order is in the process. Inventory management is accurate and easy to maintain, preventing costly shortages or overstocking. And with wholesale pricing built directly into the system, serving our optical partners is fast, consistent, and effortless. These features have made our lab more efficient, more organized, and better equipped to grow without sacrificing quality or turnaround time.

**What do you like best about Innovations?**

The software is modular, so we only use what we need. As a small but growing company, it is imperative that our systems scale with the business. Innovations has done that at every milestone!

**What do you dislike about Innovations?**

Honestly, not much. Software is solid, team is great. The only constructive criticism I can offer is from the scripting side of things in regards to WorkTickets. We have a local capacity here to script our own, and have done so on a very basic level, but we would LOVE to see much more offered in terms of online training and classes in the scripting department!

**What problems is Innovations solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accuracy and speed of job data transfer. Our old LMS (shall remain nameless for good reason) was extremely slow in data transmission and would create congestion in the overall job flow. Since the implementation of Innovations, that has been resolved.

**What do you like best about Innovations?**

Innovations is designed to be extremely flexible and modular, which is essential as labs can all be run very differently. I'd like to think we're on the extreme side of this, as we're an e-commerce focused lab, and Innovations works flawlessly. Over the years we've scaled up how much we used the various modules and applications, and it handles everything perfectly. The rules engine allows us to automate so much of the production. The workticket builder is extremely robust, allowing us to make unique worktickets based on job type, and only have the relevant information shown. The tracking system is wonderful and allows us to further optimize production. 

Implementation was quick and easy. We were given amazing support the entire time - and no matter what challenge we faced, there were always multiple solutions provided. 

Their customer service is exceptional - I believe everything is responded to in an hour or less. I can count on one hand the amount of issues we've had over the years, and those were all responded to and addressed in almost no time at all. Coming from a competitor who offered limited support during limited hours, I can't begin to express how important this is, and what a difference this can make. When production is down, you want a company who can respond quickly and efficiently.

Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about Innovations, and I wouldn't even think about using something else for our lab.

**What do you dislike about Innovations?**

There's very little I dislike about Innovations. If I really had to pick something, I would say some of the documentation is not available online. For whatever you cannot find, their support has it and can provide it no problem.

**What problems is Innovations solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For a lab of our size, where we can do hundreds of jobs a day, optimization is absolutely critical. All of our stock frames are now in a database, they print on specialized unique work tickets, and don't require a new trace - something impossible with our last LMS. Our ruleset allows us to handle exactly how I want my jobs cut, everything from bevel to polish. If I decide later I don't like something or I want to get more granular, I have the flexibility to do so. This reduces the unnecessary work our technicians in the lab have to do, and allows them to better prioritize. The tracking system allows me to keep production running smoothly, hold our staff accountable, and identify any problem areas or delays. The job queue system allows me to prioritize what work tickets are printed and when, so we can get the most important work out first. The rule engine and workticket designer allow me do things like specify what machines I want certain jobs going to, and bring attention to potential problems such as brittle frames. As we grow  I can make changes with ease. It doesn't take months of back and forth - I can push a new workticket update live whenever I want, and I can publish rule changes whenever I want. 

Every challenge that our lab experiences, Innovations is more than qualified and capable of handling. I couldn't imagine getting to where we are today with a different lab management system.

Overall very user friendly, and customizable.  If I do have any issues, they are fixed quickly!

It is quite different from the previous program, it was hard to break my old habits.

It has allowed us to take more control of our own system, and run better reporting.
