The end-user interface is nice and simple which is what we really needed for our users. Since we use the product for emergency notifications, we need it to be simple to use without too much knowledge. This is for sure what Informacast excels at because we can set everything up and make it simple for the end user to just fill out a couple fields or check a few boxes and get the proper notifications out to the proper groups. The setup for InformaCast is a bit complicated and I can see why self-deployed folks may have trouble getting utilization of the product. We thankfully had a VAR install and deploy for us and their knowledge in getting everything setup was excellent in handling what we would not have been able to. When we changed phone systems to Cisco's platform, we lost the ability to know what extension dialed 911. With InformaCast Fusion we are now able to follow in real-time a 911 call. This was the first use case we had for InformaCast. Now we are tying Fusion into our fire alarm and door security systems. We have also integrated Fusion into our overhead paging allow us to have paging in areas our old analog system did not cover. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The lack of ability to copy and paste repetitive tasks. An example was needing to create many message templates with small variations. Would be nice to copy and paste a finished template and make the minor changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to set up granular security to limit who can send to different distribution lists. Support is very quick to respond and knowledgeable about the product. The interface is easy enough to navigate and send broadcasts, even for people who are not overly technical. Easy to manage distribution lists, with several options for uploading data (both manually and automatically) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Online documentation has not caught up with all the product features and a few times I needed to get in touch with support for clarification of different settings, especially around the security settings. Also, it would be nice if the primary ID of the distribution list members were not email as it adds an extra data-gathering requirement that people aren't always willing to give. I love that it is easy to use and navigate. I do not work on InformaCast that often, but when I do I find that it is super simple to get in and accomplish what I needed to without spending time familiarizing myself with the application again. I can get in, do what I need to do, then get out and on with the list of other tasks on my plate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing I dislike about InformaCast Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
How easy it is to manage. It's super fast to setup in vmware, very easy to backup the configuration, easy and intuitive to restore from backup (yes, I actually had to do that once before I setup a failover server) and easy to understand most of the modules. It's also got an easy to configure failover / hot spare option. This is a Linux image that you load from and OVA and once you setup a few things you can be off and running. It can do all kinds of messaging and integrates with CUCM systems, as well as others (although I've only had experience with CUCM integration). It can do your PA announcements, timed bells, tornado warnings, text messages, and all kinds of automated messaging and announcement functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The GUI is a little klunky but not all that different from other similar Linux servers and once you are accustomed to the organization of the modules, it's very simple, if not very intuitive at first. I also don't really like how every module is licensed separately, although that's sort of a mixed blessing. It's nice that you don't have to pay for features that you never plan to use, but some of the setup instructions don't make it clear that you have not purchased licensing until you are done configuring a given feature and go to try it ... and get an error message that you have to purchase a separate license for that feature. That doesn't happen for all the modules - the majority of them state right on the module overview page that a separate license is required - but it did happen to me for one of them and byt the time I realized that I lacked a license, I had wasted 2-3 hours setting it up. Aside from that I really love this product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It sends alerts, that's very helpful and useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I used to not like the webpage appearance so much, but since we upgraded to latest version, that's not a problem with me anymore. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interoperability of the solution with Cisco platforms and a very capable technical support service Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although it is compatible with multi-brands, some of them do not have good service in solving problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Most helpful is the ability to add groups of various devices and tie to groups of users so that on the right people and trigger the right messages. When various users log in, they can only send the messages they are approved to send and they can only send them to the destinations that they are approved to send to. There is little to dislike about Informacast. It's easy to deploy and manage, it's browser and os neutral, it just works... One frustration is that after sending an RSS alert, someone must log into the system a second time to send an "all clear." Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We just migrated from InformaCast advanced to InformaCast Fusion. Fusion is their in-cloud and on-premise solution that combines InformaCast Advanced and InformaCast Mobile. The migration was not very easy as you can't just transfer the data from one system to the other. However, once I mirrored what I did in Advanced, I was ready to go with Fusion. The actual setup for Fusion was pretty easy. The web UI is intuitive and easy to navigate; it is a much better interface than InformaCast Advanced has. Fusion is super easy to upgrade; you literally click one button and it downloads the file, validates it, and installs. The InformaCast mobile app is also very easy to use and train folks on. You can send an emergency notification straight from the mobile app in seconds. Licensing seems to have also improved in Fusion; it is more affordable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We set our emergency broadcasts to repeat infinitely, until we're ready to send an updated notification. You cannot stop a broadcast from the mobile app; absolutely essential feature missing!!! You also cannot send a new broadcast to cancel the old one either from the web UI or from the mobile app. Another essential feature missing. What good is the mobile app if you can send a broadcast but not cancel it? Might as well just train security to use the web UI since the app is worthless to us. Simple to use. Set it up, never touch it again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface, although functional, could use some modernization. Setup on the Cisco side can be a little complicated, but no fault of Singlewire. I wish their licensing model was a little more flexible in terms if quantity of devices. I have some unused phones because I need 10 licenses not 50. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We like the ease of the UI, the way the speakers quickly register with the server and the flexibility of creating zones and groups to send notifications to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some people that seem like they have not been in support very long and are not as helpful, with that said, the vast majority of those that I have worked with have been excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The instant alerts and notifications of 911 calls to desk phones cell phones and email. Being in a rural area emergency services can be a little on the slow side. With these alerts we can have nursing staff and security personnel onsite with in minutes of incident. The recorded 911 call also gives us insight into what is going on Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Was bit challenging to integrate with Cisco call manager Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the big selling features was price. We had not budgeted for a Mass Notification System when our old system stopped working unexpectedly. Not only was Informacast reasonably priced but we were able to get up and running again with enhanced features in a short period of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the downsides is the inability to select what method you receive messages. Some messages I just need a heads up on the next time I check my texts. Sometimes there are emergencies that I need to be notified right away. Having the ability to set those preferences for how the notifications come in would be helpful. The ability to schedule a variety of different broadcasts easily. We have several different announcements that need made over the paging system throughout the day. InformaCast does this easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I haven't found much to dislike. Maybe better notice about new versions and when support is ending for versions. I discovered by accident when I went to the support that the version we were using was no longer supported. It wasn't too big of a deal, the upgrade was fairly straight forward and I no longer needed support after the upgrade. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This product is very flexible in what it can do, the feature per dollar ratio is in the sweet spot.
I really like the instructional video that have been posted on how things are setup also they are very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not knowing everything about the product yet. :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our Hospital was looking for a paging system for emergency paging for one of our remote branch. The system was deployed to integrate with Cisco PBX. The setup is pretty straight forward. And the system works well so far. Also, the technical support is pretty good, they response quick and provide professional support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't have anything to specifically point out as dislike. So far so good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Panic button function works best to alert security personnel of any incident. Also great for phone notifications with pre-recorded or live audio. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The implementation is a bit clunky with the integration with CUCM. Also the web GUI could organize the flow of the features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
