It increases the speed, reach, and success rate of emergency notification communications to get critical information to the people that need it. ## InformaCast Pros & Cons **What users like:** - Users commend InformaCast for its **superior audio broadcasting** capabilities to IP Phones, making communication seamless. A Piece of Mind for these violent times **Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Omar C. | Systems Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2014 **What do you like best about InformaCast?** We just migrated from InformaCast advanced to InformaCast Fusion. Fusion is their in-cloud and on-premise solution that combines InformaCast Advanced and InformaCast Mobile. The migration was not very easy as you can't just transfer the data from one system to the other. However, once I mirrored what I did in Advanced, I was ready to go with Fusion. The actual setup for Fusion was pretty easy. The web UI is intuitive and easy to navigate; it is a much better interface than InformaCast Advanced has. Fusion is super easy to upgrade; you literally click one button and it downloads the file, validates it, and installs.The InformaCast mobile app is also very easy to use and train folks on. You can send an emergency notification straight from the mobile app in seconds. Licensing seems to have also improved in Fusion; it is more affordable. **What do you dislike about InformaCast?** We set our emergency broadcasts to repeat infinitely, until we're ready to send an updated notification. You cannot stop a broadcast from the mobile app; absolutely essential feature missing!!! You also cannot send a new broadcast to cancel the old one either from the web UI or from the mobile app. Another essential feature missing. What good is the mobile app if you can send a broadcast but not cancel it? Might as well just train security to use the web UI since the app is worthless to us. **Recommendations to others considering InformaCast:** Review other competing products such as Alertus so you can compare features and make sure you get the best solution for your organization. **What problems is InformaCast solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our goal is to have one pain of glass to manage all of our emergency notifications. We currently also use RAVE, which we're hoping to integrate with Fusion, but it's not looking promising so far. We have IP clocks in all of our classrooms and large areas, and outdoor blue light towers so we have pretty great coverage on campus, in addition to 250 desktop notifiers and 250 IP phones doing broadcasts. So to sum up, we broadcast to IP clocks, IP speakers, desktop PC's,Cisco IP phones, plus email and text through RAVE. The more ways you have to notify your users in the case of emergency the better. ### 2.
