"Very good MDM Mobility service."
What do you like best about IBM MaaS360?

One of the most impressive recent developments from IBM MaaS360 is the introduction of AI-Assisted Policy Guidance and "Summarize" features (rolled out in early-to-mid 2025).

This feature is impressive because it directly addresses the overwhelming complexity of modern Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) for IT administrators.

What it does: Instead of forcing administrators to navigate hundreds of toggles and policies, the AI engine can "summarize" existing policy configurations to explain their intent and impact.

Why it's impressive: It moves beyond simple automation and into context-aware guidance. It can analyze a policy and recommend improvements based on the desired goal (e.g., strengthening security for BYOD) while also providing a high-level summary of the implications of those changes.

This, along with the rollout of the new Native Enterprise App Catalog for iOS and the Fast Start program for SMBs, shows a clear focus on simplifying the experience while tightening security, reducing setup times, and leveraging AI for practical, daily decision-making. What do you dislike about IBM MaaS360?

IBM MaaS360, particularly when paired with Watson AI, improves performance across IT operations, device management, and end-user productivity through automation and intelligent insights. It aims to reduce device configuration time by up to 85-90% and decrease help desk tickets by 50%.

Here are the key areas where MaaS360 can improve performance:

1. IT Operations and Deployment Speed

Rapid Device Enrollment: Drastically reduces setup time using over-the-air (OTA) enrollment, Zero-Touch for Android, and Apple Business Manager.

Automation of Routine Tasks: Uses Action Orchestrator to automate device actions and maintenance, such as patching and OS updates, reducing manual workload.

Centralized Management: Provides a single console (Portal Home) for managing diverse endpoints (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, IoT).

Faster Troubleshooting: Enables remote support and screen-sharing sessions to diagnose issues without in-person visits.

2. End-User Productivity

Secure Access to Resources: Provides Single Sign-On (SSO) and seamless access to enterprise apps, email, and content.

App Catalog Performance: Offers native performance on iOS/iPadOS for the MaaS360 App Catalog, featuring curated app bundles for faster, more relevant deployment.

Reduced Downtime: Quick over-the-air deployment of security patches ensures devices stay compliant without disrupting user work.

3. Security and Compliance Performance

AI-Driven Risk Insights: Uses Watson to identify vulnerabilities and rank risks, helping IT teams prioritize remediation efforts.

Proactive Threat Defense (MTD): Detects and neutralizes threats like phishing and malware in real-time to prevent security incidents, reducing the time to resolution.

Automated Compliance: Continuously monitors for policy deviations and automatically remediates issues.

4. Cost and Efficiency Optimization

Reduced Support Calls: Decreases the volume of help desk tickets by 50% through automated self-service and improved user experience.

Mobile Expense Management: Helps reduce data costs by 10-15% by tracking usage, setting limits, and identifying high-data-consumption apps.

Streamlined Asset Management: Provides clear visibility into inventory, reducing time spent on audits by 58%.

5. Specialized Capabilities

Fast Start for SMBs: Offers preconfigured policies specifically for smaller businesses to get started in minutes rather than weeks.

Frontline Worker Support: Enables secure, specialized kiosk modes and non-GMS device management for industries like manufacturing and logistics.

These improvements in performance are achieved through a cloud-native SaaS model that allows for instant updates and immediate access to new features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Exceptional Control and Compliance for MDM Needs"
What do you like best about IBM MaaS360?

The level of control it provided over our ecosystem, along with the up-to-date policies available for all operating systems, made Maas360 an excellent choice for our MDM requirements. Our main use was for managing Android Workspace and MacBook devices. Additionally, we appreciate the metrics dashboard, which offers a clear overview of our device environment and supports our compliance efforts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM MaaS360?

We primarily used MaaS360 for MacBooks, but found that its support for the latest MacBook operating systems was lacking. As a result, we decided to stop using MaaS360 and went with a different solution. On the other hand, its support for Android devices and operating systems was excellent. "Effortless Device Management with Robust Security and Seamless Integration"
What do you like best about IBM MaaS360?

What I like best about IBM MaaS360 is how easy it is to onboard devices, the clean and straightforward dashboard, and the strong security features—especially the Secure Container that keeps corporate data separate from personal data. I also appreciate how well it integrates with other services and how it lets me manage different device types in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM MaaS360?

What I dislike about IBM MaaS360 is that the interface can feel a bit outdated in some areas, and certain settings are buried, so it takes extra clicks to find what I need. Some features also feel slower or less polished compared to other MDMs, and the customization options can be limited. Plus, the reporting tools aren’t always as flexible as I’d like. "MaaS360 Review – Solid Device Management with Room for Improvement"
What do you like best about IBM MaaS360?

It’s reliable for managing multiple devices remotely without needing to physically touch them, the dashboard is fairly straightforward once you get used to it, making it easy to track devices, push updates, and enforce security policies.

The remote wipe and lock feature gives peace of mind for data security in case a device is lost or stolen, works well across different operating systems like Android, iOS, and Windows, so you don’t need different tools for each platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM MaaS360?

The interface feels a bit outdated and clunky compared to modern tools.

Some configurations take more steps than necessary, which slows down quick changes, the reporting section could be more customizable and visually appealing.

It can be a little resource-heavy on older device. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable and Comprehensive Mobile Device Management Solution"
What do you like best about IBM MaaS360?

IBM MaaS360 provides a smooth and centralized way to manage and secure mobile devices, laptops, and apps in one place. Its cloud-based deployment makes it easy to scale across multiple locations, and the interface is intuitive even for large-scale operations. The integration with AI-powered threat management is a big plus for proactive security monitoring. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM MaaS360?

While MaaS360 is powerful, the reporting dashboard could be more customizable to suit specific organizational needs. Some advanced configurations require additional training, and occasional sync delays with certain device types can slow down policy enforcement Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure and Versatile UEM Solution with Minor UI Drawbacks"
What do you like best about IBM MaaS360?

The best thing about IBM MaaS360 is how easy it makes managing different devices in one place It works well with Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS, which is great for a mixed environment Device enrollment is simple, and the security features like compliance checks and threat alerts give peace of mind Having everything in a single dashboard saves a lot of time for the IT team Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM MaaS360?

The interface can feel a bit outdated and takes time to get used to especially for new users. Reporting is detailed but not very flexible if you want custom dashboards. "My Experience and Review about IBM MaaS360"
What do you like best about IBM MaaS360?

What I most appreciate about IBM MaaS360 is that it has a centralized dashboard that allows me to manage all devices in one location, OS independent. The Watson AI-powered alerts are extremely useful, providing context and solutions rather than warnings, and the secure container segregates corporate data from personal data on BYOD devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM MaaS360?

I dislike about IBM MaaS360 is that the interface, especially on the mobile app, can feel a bit dated, and loading detailed reports can be slow at times. For new users, the wide range of settings and options might also feel overwhelming in the beginning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Compared to other MDM's this is cheap, but very slow."
What do you like best about IBM MaaS360?

I think that IBM takes security very seriously when it comes to their portal.

Their customer service.

Thats about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM MaaS360?

Everything with MaaS is a compromise. It is impossible to the portal with two windows open at the same time. You are limited to one window.

Their granular approach is not granular and it is necessary to pull multiple reports to find the information that you need.

Not a lot of their features work when you need them to. If you need to change policies, you need to wipe the device. It takes up to 3-hours for an app distribution to take place.

DEP enrollment from a fresh device can take up to 3-hours, its almost like they're rate limited from Apple.

Be prepared to make friends with their CSR's, at this point I have their 800 number memorized.

If you want to make an action on a device, be prepared for it to take 2-hours to 2-days.

Everything is very slow to happen.

The map to find a lost device is terrible and is not user friendly.

Its almost like their developers don't use their own software.

You can tell IBM doesn't compare their product with the competition.

Compared to Jamf, Hexnode, or Meraki- MaaS provides an unacceptable experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
