What is Hootsuite, and what problem is it built to solve?

Hootsuite is social media management software for brands and organizations that need to build and maintain relationships with audiences across social networks and one-to-one messaging channels. Its focus includes social insights, employee advocacy, social selling, and social customer care.

What languages does Hootsuite support?

Hootsuite supports 7 languages: Arabic, English, French, German, and Italian, and others.

What company sizes and industries is Hootsuite the best fit for?

Hootsuite is used across small-business, mid-market, and enterprise organizations, with reviewer-reported use spanning several industries. The most visible clusters include:
  • Company size: Small businesses, mid-market organizations, and enterprises.
  • Industries: Marketing and advertising, information technology and software, and higher education and nonprofit organizations.

How long does it take to implement Hootsuite across a team?

Teams most often report getting Hootsuite live in under a month, though setup can take longer when workflows are more involved.
Time to go live Relative frequency
Under 1 month Most common
1–3 months Less common
3–6 months Occasional
6–12 months or longer Uncommon

What customer support options does Hootsuite provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Support spans self-service resources and direct help through email, chat, and phone, including 24/7 live-rep support. The experience is mixed: users value responsive, helpful assistance, while others find responses slow or support difficult to reach.

What is the experience like for teams switching to Hootsuite from another tool?

Switching from social management tools such as Sprout Social, Buffer, Zoho Social, and Agorapulse has been driven by the need to bring scheduling, account management, engagement, and reporting into one workflow. The move can make collaboration, approvals, and multi-account publishing easier, especially when the previous setup felt manual or lacked the needed capabilities.

What tools and platforms does Hootsuite integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

Hootsuite offers 50 integrations, connecting social publishing with creative, AI, CRM, service, and analytics tools.
  • Social networks: Facebook, Instagram for Business, TikTok, and X.
  • Creative and AI: Canva, Adobe Express, Claude, and ChatGPT.
  • CRM, customer service, and analytics: Salesforce Sales Cloud, HubSpot Marketing Hub, Zendesk for Customer Service, and Google Analytics.
These connections can bring content assets and drafting tools into publishing workflows, or link social activity with CRM, service, and reporting work, reducing the need to switch between tools.

What features or capabilities could make Hootsuite even more useful?

Hootsuite could be more useful with improvements that make reporting more flexible and publishing workflows more complete. The recurring requests center on:
  • Deeper, more customizable analytics with clearer platform-specific metrics and reporting.
  • Broader support for platform-specific formats and actions, including Stories, Reels, threads, tagging, and media options.
  • More flexible recurring scheduling, bulk editing, and changes to scheduled posts.
  • Simpler navigation and smoother approval, permissions, and account-management workflows.

How useful do Hootsuite users find its AI features in everyday use?

Hootsuite’s AI is most useful as a starting point for content and analysis, but the experience varies by team and use case. Users describe using it for:
  • Drafting and refining captions or copy.
  • Generating content ideas and hashtag suggestions.
  • Summarizing or interpreting performance data and social conversations.
These tools can save time and help overcome a blank page, but suggestions may feel generic or miss a brand’s voice, so users often review and edit the results.

"Easy Social Scheduling and Analytics in One Place, with More Integrations to Explore"
4/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

It’s very easy to schedule posts for different social media platforms, and you can connect them quickly through solid integrations. I also like how simple it is to see my social media results and performance all in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

In my personal opinion, Hootsuite is a very complete tool. Although I may not be using all of the integrations, I haven’t tried their AI products yet, so I can’t really give an analysis of that part. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Hootsuite?

I appreciate Hootsuite for its ability to streamline social media management efficiently and effectively. It acts as a centralized hub for scheduling posts, tracking engagement, and analyzing performance across multiple platforms. For me, the greatest benefit is the sense of security it offers, making the workday more organized and stress-free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

My primary concern with the platform is its user interface. At times, scheduled posts fail to publish without any clear reason, which can be quite frustrating. Moreover, when reaching out for support, the response is typically a link to an article rather than direct assistance, which can slow down the resolution process and make troubleshooting less efficient. "Hootsuite Is Our Critical Marketing Tool"
4/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

I have been using Hootsuite for more than 8 years and even after considering other software platforms always have stayed with Hootsuite. It is easy to use, flexible, customizable and reliable for our brands. We are a small marketing department but Hootsuite allows us to do sophisticated posts at any given time. The scheduling is so easy to do and it makes us appear much larger than we are. It is easy to use and open to multiple users. We use it every day for posting to multiple channels. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

We haven't found many issues with Hootsuite. The main issue is that the different social media channels change their rules and parameters and Hootsuite has to figure out how to get them connected again - but that being said, it never is for more than a day or two. "A reliable tool that meets expectations"

What do you like best about Hootsuite?

The basis of this program is of course the possibility to plan publications on several platforms. But the statistics tool and the click linktracker are very appreciable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

From time to time, company tags disappear on Linkedin during planning and publishing. In addition, the layout of the arrangement of photos on Linkedin when preparing the publication is not the same as once published. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlines Social Media Scheduling with Ease"
5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

I use Hootsuite for posting to multiple social platforms and for analytics. I appreciate being able to schedule content across different platforms from the same page, which simplifies my workflow. I find the ability to link posts valuable. I also really like the top performing posts feature and the feedback it provides. The time of day to post suggestions is helpful, and I enjoy the reporting and being able to search by different metrics. Setting up Hootsuite was very easy for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

I get my manager to approve my posts by scheduling them herself. Sometimes if I choose a time of day in the draft, she can't get into the draft after that time to edit/approve. She ends up duplicating the post to get around that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Top-Notch Analytics and an Intuitive Calendar That Simplifies Scheduling"
4/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

The analytical tools are top notch and really helpful for reporting. I also really like the design and layout of the software. It is colorful and intuitive. The price is also not terrible given all the updates they do and the new AI integrations. My favorite part is the core of the software which is the calendar aspect. I use that to help me organize my posting schedule. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

I still feel like scheduling videos/reels is clunky and awkward, mostly because there is no in-app editing feature. I edit all my videos on my phone so it is cumbersome to have to email the video to myself, download it on my computer, and then upload it to Hootsuite's interface that (in video regard) feels outdated for uploading a quality reel. I wish your phone app was designed differently and you could use all the desktop features on it. I end up manually posting my videos or scheduling them in the Facebook or Instagram app because it is just more straightforward, I can use trending audios directly and I know my video will post exactly how it should. I also would love a more robust search function in the software so I can search for posts I've done using a keyword instead of scrolling through everything. Kind of like a searchable archive. "Essential Tool for Timely Social Media Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

I love being able to schedule my posts ahead of time with Hootsuite. It has greatly helped in ensuring that all of our posts go out on time, and it gives me the flexibility to add things at the last minute. I also like being able to look at performance reports since those numbers are great to show our executive leadership team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

Sometimes my photos that I try to schedule for X don't actually upload on the first try after I schedule them. For example, I'll schedule a post for all four of our social platforms at the same time, but the photo for X won't save. I will have to go back in and individually input that image again. Not a huge deal, but it has happened a lot recently, so might be a bug? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Perfect Tool for Streamlined Social Media Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

I use Hootsuite for all of my social media needs and I love it! It allows me to post to multiple platforms at the same time, and I absolutely love that I can program my posts ahead of time, taking the stress out of worrying about timelines and meeting deadlines. Hootsuite is super user-friendly, and I've never had any issues with it. My favorite tool is the planner, which lets me plan my social media posts weeks in advance and I love that it recommends the best times for me to post. The initial setup was super easy too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

I think the AI feature could be improved. I usually create my content in Canva and then use ChatGPT to create my language. It would be great if I could do this all in Hootsuite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Convenient and Time-Saving Social Media Management"
5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

I appreciate how Hootsuite makes it easy to do daily posts by allowing me to schedule them with the planner, which saves me more time than I can even imagine. I love the convenience it offers and the ongoing upgrades that assist me in generating ideas. The ease of responding to messages, likes, or clicks is incredibly helpful. Additionally, when my marketing brain is fried due to other responsibilities at the company, Hootsuite helps me with this part of my job. The initial setup was easy, and I've been using it for 2-3 years now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

I could use more training on some of the newer features I haven't even explored yet due to allowing the time. Overall training when you sign up would be nice. Even videos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
