Huntress Managed ITDR (4.8/5, 115+ reviews) pairs continuous monitoring with a human-staffed SOC, and reviewers consistently point to fast detection of anomalies like location or session irregularities. Some reviewers do flag it missing certain failed login patterns, worth checking against your specific threat model.

Microsoft Defender for Identity (4.3/5, 90+ reviews) watches domain controller traffic specifically for lateral movement after initial compromise, which fits this angle directly. Its support and ease-of-use scores sit noticeably below category average though, so factor in what that means for your team's day-to-day.

Semperis Directory Services Protector (4.8/5, 20+ reviews) focuses on continuous Active Directory monitoring with autonomous remediation, and reviewers highlight live indicators and auto-undo for changes that look like compromise in progress. It's a smaller review base, so weight that against the other two.

For this problem, a human-staffed SOC like the one Huntress pairs with its monitoring would get it on my shortlist fast. When an attacker is quietly acting like the real user, having people watching feels important.
