## Grain Reviews
  ### 1. Makes life so easy!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brianna G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

integrates seemlessly with zoom and google meets, can have different privacy settings per recording, can create highlights and grain summarizes the clip for me. Transcribes the whole meeting. I love the new update where AI summarizes the video and creates it's own highlights.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I don't dislike anything about grain. The only idea I have on how it could be better is if once creating a highlight from a recording, grain integrated with a task management tool and created the action item/task for us.
Also, sometimes grain gets "buggy" when I try to edit the copy/transcript.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i use Grain as a technical recruiter. Grain helps me make sure I do not miss any critical info/skills a candidate tells me about in their interview. We also can view each other's recordings to see if a candidate would be suitable for a different role. I also use grain for training purposes.

  ### 2. I can stay focused while capturing everything in my meeting!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tiffany T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The ability to upload and transcribe Zoom calls is really useful. So even if I didn't initiate or own the call, I can still get the benefit of using Grain to summarize what happened.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Using it on a mobile device is difficult. I can't see the whole screen or navigate it easily. I tend to transfer work from my laptop to iPad to phone, and it would help if I could use Grain across those devices easily.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a solopreneur, so if I'm conducting a call with a client, I usually have to choose between writing notes by hand or using a voice note app and later doing the work of transcribing. Grain handles the note-taking for me, leaving my brain free to fully engage in the conversation with my client. And I don't have to spend time later attempting to transcribe or rewrite my notes. It's like having a really smart, capable assistant at every meeting.

  ### 3. Best software to edit and share user interview snippets

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Blaize P. | Growth Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain makes it incredibly easy to make valuable snippets of interviews to share with the wider team. I love how fast it is and that I don't have to download a video to share it. The ability to share via a link directly to my colleagues is a major time saver. It's so easy and intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

It's hard to have a downside about Grain as I think the software is great. The only thing that could make it better is if I was able to conduct entire research processes in it. I'm excited to see where Grain develops and if it becomes a tool that can handle all aspects of user research.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain is helping us to understand our users and uncover common threads and themes between their needs. It's fast, intuitive and so much easier to use than services like otter.ai or iMovie.

  ### 4. Unleashing Potential: A Journey With Grain AI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rodman S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Looking from a technical viewpoint, Grain AI's intuitive interfaces are a joy to interact with. Their robust platform takes complex data and makes it accessible, understandable, and above all, useful

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

One area that could use some scaling up is the implementation of more resources and guides. Especially for those who may not be as versed in AI, having an ample supply of educational materials allows for greater accessibility and inclusivity.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Taking notes and sharing meetings

  ### 5. Getting started with Grain - A game changer for our team's communication.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I find that the transcription of the conversation is really good. We've found Grain really helpful in reviewing each others sales process & it has been helpful to build up a library of recordings to share with new starters to view best practice.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

It does sometime feel that Grain doesn't deal with accents too well & sometimes the transcription doesn't pick up when the speaker starts. However this is something I experienced with other software.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For us, taking a lot of notes to share with our team & have to reference in further sales calls & account management calls was taking up too much time. It was easy to get overwhelmed with note writing, but Grain has allowed us to essentially remove the bulk of this from our day to day. We now have a quick check of the transcription and summary/next steps and just make a couple of edits.

  ### 6. Amazing software, bullet proof and constantly updated

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve M. | Head of Business Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Zero touch once set up, share highlights of video clips and automatically post them to our slack channels so that our development team can see relevant information from calls and help that guide new features that we build in our own

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Honestly not much to dislike transcript isn't always a hundred percent but that's the same we all video recording software. Yes they could automatically pull out the best highlights of a clip and make highlight automatically then create but honestly that's a minor request

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us to record and share calls with our prospects and customer so that we can better understand messaging and challenges that they are having and share it with colleagues so that they can increase their speed of learning

  ### 7. MAKES RECORDINGS EASIER

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** CHANDRAKANT S. | Student, E-Learning, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I am so happy to use Grain. It has helped me study online a far better. I saved all my class recordings so that I could refer to them later on. It provides us with est features we can always control what to record and what not. Other than that, it also helps us store our recordings online or import from other software like Zoom.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

There is nothing as such to dislike in Grain. It is always helping us, but it would be better if they help us organise our recordings better.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped me in making notes from my online sessions. I could always crosscheck. It had helped me a lot to improve my studies.

  ### 8. Easy way to share VoC with our team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kim H. | Head of Business Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

We use Grain to share clips from customer calls with our team - the highlight feature works great to share short snippets right in Slack!

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

It had felt a bit buggy in the past, but they've recently made improvements so I'm not experiencing that much anymore.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain is simple to use to record all our customer calls - I no longer have to take notes during my meeting and can stay focused on the conversation I'm having, while feeling confident that I'll be able to review the call and share snippets with my team afterward. As a startup, it's incredibly valuable to be able to share direct feedback from these customer calls with the rest of our team.

  ### 9. Invaluable company insight and memory

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan M. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love that I dont have to worry about taking notes, and that I can rewind and find out what I agreed to. I love that I can share customer insights so easily and quickly.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The mac desktop app could do with some TLC. Same can be said for the zoom app. I'd love to be able to more confidently mark up interviews in real time, but this is as much a me issue than anything else.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is allowing us to remove participants from meetings and then they can get up to speed in their own time much quicker using summaries and speed control. Some have said its a bit like a work podcast!

  ### 10. Great zoom & video platform recording & transcribing product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian P. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

It is extremely easy to use and love the interface for transcription of our videos and simple to integrate with Zoom, other video platforms and CRMs. Simple dashboard and I like the ability to add and edit the transcripts. Very powerful tool!

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The Fremium plan is great to start with, but the business plan starting at $15 per seat is a bit expensive for some SMBs or startups, but in the end, you do get great value as you tend to depend on the service and recordings.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love the way Grain helps me keep a record of our video conversations with our clients. I use it as a way to document action plans and keep ourselves and our clients accountable. When we are on a zoom call with our clients and we agreed on an action plan or payment plan or task. The tool is very helpful as a way to go back and remember what is said (i.e. to resolve issues he/she said to resolve conflict) as the transcript keeps everyone accountable.

  ### 11. Great Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Barbara S. | Project Manager, Senior UX Researcher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

It's extremely easy to use, the AI summaries are very useful. I have all great things to say about it. My favorite thing is that it's extremely easy to highlight and share it.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Unfortunately, very often I have to upload external videos, which takes extra time. Also it takes a bit of time to get the transcript to work. Also organising files is a bit difficult, as I need to go to collections, create it and only then I can assign the file to it.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I m a UX researcher and I use grain to summarize all my interviews. It's easy to transcript and easy to share insights. It makes me much more productive and quicker

  ### 12. Seamless, Helpful, Does It All

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love that Grain has a simple user interface, automatically joins meeting, transcribes audio, records video, selects highlights, take notes with timestamps and will capture next steps if prompted.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I'd love to see grain email me a summary after the meeting and I wish it was a little bit less expensive for the monthly plan, but I use it for my YouTube and podcast show notes so I find it pretty helpful and it saves so much time!

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for my YouTube and podcast show notes so I find it pretty helpful and it saves so much time! It definitely makes me more productive because I can save time this way.

  ### 13. Grain is not just another call recording tool --> it's a movement.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

As an early adopter of Grain, we've integrated a game-changing tool that's reshaped how we interact with our customers and manage our internal knowledge. Since day zero of building our company, Grain has been pivotal, enabling us to create a living, breathing "shared reality" for our entire team. This shared reality has kept us all on the same page regarding our customers, their needs, and the problem spaces we're navigating. This AI-based SaaS tool records, transcribes, and manages all our Zoom interactions, compiling a robust, searchable knowledge base that consistently informs our strategies and innovations. It's made note-taking more streamlined and fostered collaboration and knowledge sharing among us. By using Grain, we're creating an evolving, vibrant archive of customer intelligence, which has been instrumental in strengthening our customer relationships. As a "Grain-native" company, we have a unique advantage in deeply understanding our customers, swiftly responding to their feedback, and ensuring team-wide alignment with our objectives and goals. Furthermore, the Grain team impresses us with their amazing execution pace. They consistently introduce new features, enhancing our capacity to connect, learn, and grow with our customers.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I love grain. I can't think of anything I disklike about it. If anything, I want more of it - they can introduce analytics overview or cool collaborative gamification so that I can help some of the our more drowsy team members to hop in more often! things like nurture emails or small gratifications that are related to the analysis output of the calls could be cool. One more thing is maybe adding hebrew transcription (hipster feature request, I know!).

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain is adeptly solving a host of challenges we faced around customer interaction, knowledge management, and team collaboration. Firstly, by automatically recording and transcribing our Zoom calls, Grain eliminates the need for manual note-taking during meetings, allowing us to be more present and engaged.

Secondly, the AI-powered transcription feature has been a game-changer. It converts our call recordings into a searchable knowledge base, which we can easily access for reference. This has streamlined our review process and made our post-call analysis much more effective and accurate, minimizing misunderstandings or miscommunications.

Moreover, the ability to share these transcriptions and notes with the entire team has fostered a stronger collaboration. We're all able to understand the customer’s needs and perspectives, enabling us to align our strategies better and make more informed decisions.

Lastly, as a "Grain-native" company, we've benefited from being early adopters. We've grown and evolved alongside the tool, giving us a comprehensive understanding of its features and potential. This, combined with the constant introduction of new features from the Grain team, keeps us at the cutting edge of customer interaction and team collaboration technology, further bolstering our competitive advantage.

  ### 14. Decent recording tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa F. | Early Adopter - Member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

It's easy to set up and use for recording all of my Zoom calls. The recorder will join the meeting automatically, so I don't have to remember to add it. Grain sends an in-Zoom chat message to all attendees that it will be recording the call. It shows the Grain call recorder as a meeting guest. I like that I can customize it so it shows my name & our company logo. I really like that particular feature - it looks nicer & more professional than just having the name of the recording platform shown in giant letters.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I wish I could slice and dice meetings easier. I had two meetings back-to-back that ended up on the same recording - I would have liked to be able to separate/clip them apart.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recording and transcription of all Zoom meetings with prospects and customers. Recordings can be shared with prospects & easy to go back and review later.

  ### 15. Sunny with a chance of meatballs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I enjoy the transcript that gets generated after the call. Their team is constantly updating and making improvements to the product. They do a great job dividing my videos from my workspace but allowing me to search and find either.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Maybe its me, but I still can't figure out their zoom in app note taker. I click it and nothing happens, theres no where to write, so thats been a little frustrating. The only other thing I would ask them to improve on is I have no way of searching transcripts for key words within my own account, it limits me to just searching titles. In the workspace you have a drop down to allow you to search title/transcripts,etc but not within my own video library.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves the issue of recording our calls, we dont need to remember every detail we said because grain is always there for us to review.

  ### 16. Great experience so far, just a few glitches now and then

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Our team loves being able to collaboratively add highlights and notes during meetings, in real time. I also love being able to send Story Highlights out to the rest of the team so they only need to listen/watch the most important pieces.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The Mac app needs some work. It often quits, or the notepad doesn't open automatically. Or it just won't join a call, even though it's recurring, and I have the setting turned on for "All." I also find it frustrating that if I turn off Grain recording for a call, someone else on the call can still have it on, and I won't have visibility into that. We're a digital agency that works with multiple clients. We have a particular client that doesn't allow the use of Grain. As the Project Coordinator or sets up most meetings, I have Grain turned off for client meetings, but sometimes another employee will have it turned on, which makes it a frustrating experience and not good optics for the client. I'm thankful that I can stop the recording, even if I didn't start the call.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating highlight reels of meetings to catch team members up who may have missed. To capture important explanations to reference or share out to the full team.

  ### 17. Customer Success Manager

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain records, transcribes, and summarizes customer calls for easy internal reference or sharing. The transcript is nicely searchable and can easily be clipped to share specific clips. The ability to tag clips or entire recordings make it super easy to share knowledge across teams, especially using Zapier to create Slack alerts against certain topics.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The in-call highlights and tagging features can be a bit confusing. It's great that clips can be tagged on the fly, but it takes a few tries to figure out how this works and create a personal operating framework for doing so. Honestly I think this is more about getting used to doing one more thing during a call than a function of the actual feature usability.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Note taking for personal use (what did we cover in the last call?)
- Employee monitoring (how is X person progressing in how they speak with customers)
- Cross-team insight sharing (what do our customers care about)
- Trend identification (has this come up with other customers?)

  ### 18. Perfect for busy UX Researchers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain is a core part of my user research workflow. I LOVE how I can set up recording for my user interviews ahead of time, so I don't forget to record the sessions. It syncs with my calendar and joins the Zoom call when it's time. It quickly saves the video recording to my account, where I can organize it with tags and share it with coworkers. The transcript is my favorite part--it's easy to scan for key insights, find specific parts by keywords, and highlight snippets to share. Recently, Grain added AI summaries, and I was shocked by the precision in creating chapter summaries. The transcript saves me much time, as each user session is typically an hour long! I also can speed up the video to work more efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Grain has a limit to the number of transcripts it can transcribe each month, but that's just a limitation of my current plan, and I can upgrade for more.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain provides video transcription, video sharing, and a repository of user insights.

  ### 19. Grain is a game changer! I have it join all of my meetings, interviews and syncs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The ease of use is incredible of the platform. Since being a user, I have been so impressed with the features released compared to competitors in the marketplace. The search functionality to find previous recordings and transcript notes is accurate and easy to browse through. I would be lost daily without Grain capturing the notes and video recordings of important sessions. We even use Grain now at the company level for all-hands meetings, weekly team syncs, CEO check-ins, etc.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Depending on how heavy your use of Grain, it is important to be organized to find information. Ensure your recordings' titles stay accurate and that everyone has the right level of access to view the recordings. Not necessarily an actual downside, but you need to learn how to best utilize the features through trial and error.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

During interviews, as the Recruiter, it is often challenging to stay focused on the conversation and pick up on subtle cues if you are heads down, also having to take notes. Grain has been a game changer for me in interviews (with the candidate's approval beforehand) to record conversations and be able to comb back through transcriptions later to remember the most critical discussions. If something is unclear from a meeting, I can go back to my Grain recordings and quickly search/reference the relevant content, which helps ensure accuracy and that todos don't fall through the cracks.

  ### 20. Easy to implement & use, super cost effective. Has improved sales efficiency.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dylan H. | Sales, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain is very easy to use. As the founding Account Executive, I record all customer calls on Grain for training purposes, note taking, and to share highlights with marketing, product, and engineering to relay customer feedback.

I love the highlights feature - it's super easy to make a clip that's instantly shareable internally or externally. I believe it has significantly improved the product feedback loop between GTM teams and our product org.

The new summary feature saves me a ton of time as well. The auto-generated summary makes it easy to jump to key moments in the call, and gives anyone viewing the call the same ability.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The transcription can be a bit garbled at times, but it seems like it's getting better.

I would love to see stronger analytics functionality that lets you tag specific keywords and gives you analytics - similar to what Gong does.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain solves the problem of recording sales calls for training and note taking. It also helps us record internal meetings about important topics.

It solves the problem of note taking during calls and makes it easy to share these notes internally.

  ### 21. Excellent transcripts, clip cutting and AI summaries for UXR

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain is the best video transcription and highlighting service we use for user research. Cutting clips and creating montages is quick and easy, and the auto-generated summaries are very strong. If someone is looking for just these features I would recommend Grain 10 out of 10.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Minor: The transcription could be stronger. One frustration is that there are certain words we always use (e.g. CommonLit) that it always gets wrong.

More important: I wish it was possible to take notes and organize interviews by research projects. To be transparent, we replaced all of our UXR tooks with Great Question with the exception of Grain. Right now, we have kept Grain because it still saves us time. But we take our notes in Great Question. When Great Question improves their video transcripts and adds things like ai generated summaries, it will be hard to justify using Grain as well.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When conducting UXR we need to record interviews and return to them. Highlight and share clips. Grain does all of these things well. The AI generated summaries are another great bonus that saves us ample time. These summaries are good enough.

**Official Response from Rasheed Ahamed:**

> Thanks for your feedback!

We're actively working on supporting custom vocabulary, which is currently undergoing internal testing. This feature will ensure that Grain accurately captures custom lingos, technical terms, and more.

We're also excited to announce the launch of Collections. With this new feature, you have the ability to group interviews based on your research projects, making organization and management much easier.

We truly appreciate your ongoing support, and we can't wait for you to experience the upcoming amazing AI updates!

If you have any other questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

  ### 22. Superior call recording and transcripts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kate R. | Associate Director of Digital Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain is SO much easier to review post-meeting than trying to watch a Zoom recording. The automatically generated transcript isn't perfect but it's better than having none at all! I also like being able to add highlights to enable quick references to a specific part of a specific meeting. I've used this for recording internal calls, client calls, as well as client training. It's become so inGRAINed (pun intended!) to my project management habits that I can't imagine running a call without it now.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I sometimes have issues where I think I've set it to automatically record a meeting series, but I still have to add the recorder to each call as it occurs. Also if it could keep me signed in, that would be great - seems like I get bumped back to the login screen a lot, but fortunately the Google integrated login makes it easy to get back into my account.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain makes it really easy for me to skim a meeting transcript and ensure I caught everything that was discussed in my meeting minutes without having to rewatch the entire recording start to finish.

  ### 23. I use it everyday!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caleb C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love using grain. I run a small marketing agency and coaching company. I spend every single day in hours and hours of Zoom calls. I use grain to document all my meetings and assign tasks to my team based on different interactions with clients in the meeting.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I have yet to find a feature with grain that I'm not pleased with. they continue to add valuable features and AI enhancement to make the product better and better.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crane has solved the problems of making meetings no longer a waste of time but actual work sessions where I can delegate work and add clarification to my team members based on client interactions.

  ### 24. Great and easy way to record Sales Calls for Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

It makes it soo easy to record calls that I don't even have to think about it. It just becomes apart of my everyday workload. I really enjoy that I can make some notes while in a meeting with someone and it clearly shows that I am recording the call so they can tell me if they want me to remove it or not.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

All the pop ups when a call starts. I have multiple screens up so there is a popup on each screen it seems and it kicks me out of whatever other screen I am at.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reviewing Sales Calls and sharing any feedback I get from customers to our product team.
It also helps me review if I forgot anything about our recent conversations with a prospect. Also really nice internally when we have a meeting and I miss it or someone misses it.

  ### 25. Grain Makes it Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I use the notetaker for pretty much every single call. I like the customization and versatility of that feature. We can also link it directly to our devs.

Also, being able to utilize smaller snippets such as Highlights is very helpful when I need to send part of a call to a colleague.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Sometimes the connection to Zoom is a bit clunky, but for the most part, we never really have a huge issue with that.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to automatically connect and record our client zoom meetings and take notes in the same space. This makes things more streamlined and makes for more productive sessions with clients.

  ### 26. Best Piece of Software We've Invested In For Our Business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

That you can take notes real-time; create highlights; and make snippets to share with clients and team members.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I can't think of one thing that I dislike about Grain -- it honestly is such a helpful tool.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The transcription that comes along naturally with Grain has been a huge benefit. No longer do we need to use other services to transcribe a meeting after the meeting and, therefore, spending a ton of back & forth time. We invite Grain to all our meetings -- whether internal or external -- and can easily capture the meeting notes for us to review or to share with those that could not attend. The newest features of creating notes (currently in beta) has been a wonderful addition! We simply send this to our clients as a follow-up and review internally to clearly see next steps and discussion outcomes.

  ### 27. Great for recruiting and sales

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike B. | Founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I've tried all the meeting recording softwares and grain is the best hands down. Better then fireflies, and all the others.

We use this to record all of our recruiting interviews and sales meetings.

It records video and audio and gives you a transcription of the meeting as well as a summary of the key parts. I can easily highlight key parts of the interview and send it over as a link to clients. It seriously is by far the best product on the market at what they do.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The only negative thing i have to say about grain is that there was an error in our billing and we were getting billed slightly more then we should have. Support fixed this quickly.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Makes recrutiing/sales better for us. We can revist calls, highlight parts that are important to send to clients and team members.

  ### 28. Saves so much time!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rosey L. | Communications Consultant & Writer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love the ability to identify and organize key moments

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I wish it was easier to go from the highlight clip direct to the source location

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me identify key moments and get transcripts from meetings/conferences to then write content copy

  ### 29. Easy to create highlights, transcripting is really good

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bhavya S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Auto generated transcripts are really helpful. The search function is really good. Creating clips and highlights is very easy. It's better than TLDV in the sense that you can easily embed clips and share them with clients

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The transcripts aren't always very accurate. For regional languages the feature doess not work. If the regional languagess could also be transcribed accurately, grain would become my ultimate go to.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- It helps me share clips with clients, helps crreate video stories so clients know the entire picture, also the clips can be embedded everywhere very easily. The ability to share and embed is really helpful.

  ### 30. Fantastic product for memorializing important moments in meetings

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erin M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love that Grain provides a transcript of meetings. It makes it so easy to search for specific comments that I want to be sure to capture.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Grain is sometimes a little hard for me to understand. I am not the most tech savvy person, so for me, it's not always intuitive.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain helps me work asynchronously, helps me attribute quotes to folks when I am working on research, and helps me highlight just the most important parts of a meeting rather than asking my colleagues to rewatch an entire meeting from beginning to end. It's a huge time saver!

  ### 31. A very good recorder

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sumanyu M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Highlights, notes and timestamps in the recording. Clean interface

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

It downgrades the inactive users automatically.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recording calls and helping me revisit them.

  ### 32. Kick-butt capture of new knowledge, with a few blemishes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael M. | CEO, President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Simple, fairly powerful and integrated with G Calendar and Zoom. I love the ability to highlight text passages and Grain auto-magically produces a video snippet.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I cannot use Readwise Chrome plug-in ... no way to toggle on/off the Grain highlighier tool. Not huge, but annoying. The biggest thing to fix in the collaboration "workspace" ... limited to one-off sharing. Would really like to expand collabo-commenting without having to pay for another license ... maybe a day pass?

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Self-documented meeting with search--right now of keywords, but it really needs concept search based on topic maps
Fast, efficient capture of knowledge--pearls and gems in the convo stream, but needs better integration with personal knowledge managers (Evernote, Obsidian, Roam, Notion)
Production of reusable video snippets--but needs tools for light editing and adding intro and outros

  ### 33. Grain is one of the best video transcription and highlighting service we use for user research

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mayank C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

1. Software can provide specific function and features that can streamline processes, automate task and improve efficiency in various domains such as business, education or personal use.

2. Software often allows specific customization option which makes it user friendly.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Software may come with the price tag, whether it's a one time purchase, subsription fee or ongoing maintenance and support cost. These expenses can impact budgets especially for small business and for personal use as well.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cutting clips and creating montages is quick and easy task which solves a lot of problems and applying effects is piece of cake with this app as well. Thus problems related to clip cutting and effect application has been resolved.

  ### 34. Great tool for breaking down silos and supporting user research

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Megan M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Scanning through recordings has gotten so much easier with the new AI summaries. Creating highlights and stories to share with the org so they can hear directly from our customers and users is much more impactful than sharing a text summary in Slack.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The searchability across the organization's recordings can be improved. Would like a way to create a better knowledge base within Grain, especially as a user research type repository.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My use case for Grain is primarily for user research analysis and user empathy building. I use the clips from customer and user conversations to share with the team highlights of what we are hearing from them. Conversely, I use it to search across recordings from other team members to get a sense of what others are hearing from the field.

  ### 35. I Love Grain!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francoise D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Transcripts and highlights - easy to summarize meetings and get information to colleagues quickly. I also use it in my email summaries to candidates and they are impressed by the information!

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Sometimes the Grain robot doesn't enter the zoom room or drops out. Some tech hiccups that could be fixed.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can focus on the meeting at hand and not worry about missing important information. Plus I have a hard time retaining information so having the summary is super helpful.

Plus I use the highlights for creating reels for Instagram. Nice little bonus!

  ### 36. Great recording tool with useful insights

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zoey M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Reliable recording agent. The transcription feature is super accurate and makes it super easy to search for keywords to find the clips I'm looking for. The highlights section also helps me to easily find notable moments from the conversation without having to remember keywords. Great tool!

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Commenting feature is a bit confusing / doesn't work super well. It makes it hard for my manager to leave feedback on my calls.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's great to not have to take so many notes during sales calls - always have the recording to reference back to

  ### 37. Grain has been a real game changer when people miss meetings.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David J. N. | Seed Investor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I'm loving the AI enabled meeting summaries to quickly catch my colleagues up when they miss meetings. That has been a real game changer verus simply recording meetings.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Nothing really sprouts to my mind, but I'm sure the accuracy of the AI powered summaries can only be improved over time. Other than that I can't really think of anything else.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem of recording meetings and having an AI summary that is accurate. We don't even need word for word transcription just a meeting summary for those that miss the meetings.

  ### 38. Grain is essential to running my business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emilie G. | Business Systems Strategist + Intentional Productivity Coach, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain helps me be fully present during call and not worry about taking notes. I like being able to create highlights I can refer to later when I need to action something. Grain makes it super easy to share call recordings and transcript with my clients.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The fact that Grain has to join the call every time.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't have to worry about taking notes during call. The transcript and highlights also make it super easy to refer back to specific sections of the call.

  ### 39. It’s like studying game film so you can improve, which has been a dream come true.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Highlights that I can share with my team

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

No talk time %. Also, AI notes could be greatly improved and more detailed

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a startup founder and I run sales. I need my team to understand the pains that potential customers are having, so by sharing these clips we can stay on the same page

  ### 40. Essential piece of the remote toolkit

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

It's beyond obvious to leverage AI to get the most out of your time and make sure your meetings are valuable and remembered. It's super easy to use!

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Sometimes other participants will remove the recorder if I didn't join on time and that's annoying.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's fantastic for user interviews and research, but I also use it a lot for internal meetings to capture the takeaways and next steps without taking notes myself. It's also cool to see the % of time each person spent talking.

  ### 41. Great tool for user research

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Plug and play, Great tool, easy to use on the spot, super for user search, and very helpful AI for summaries (quite accurate!)

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I wish I could be invited into more than one workspaces with the same email. My team has many and I cannot access all.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recording user sessions and summarising calls

  ### 42. Best call coaching / recording product on the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cailen D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Intuitive, easy to set up and deploy, No need for end-user training, lots of innovation happening within the product (AI, Automated Call Summaries, etc.)

Better product than Gong/Chorus, for a fraction of the price. No brainer.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Grain is a young company, going up against competitors with a head start and more advanced features. They've already closed most of the gap in the last year!

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sales meetings, product development, sales <> engineering customer management, engineering calls, support calls, customer success call recording, compliance management

  ### 43. Game changer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Market Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

We use Grain for all of our market research work. The interface is intuitive and so easy to use. It has sped up our analysis and video editing workflow significantly. We recommend it to our clients, as well, so we can better collaborate as a team.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I would like to be able to organize video files into project folders. That has been the biggest challenge for us, not being able to sort and track the dozens of video files we upload every month.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's saving us time and helping us better collaborate with our clients. The accuracy of the transcription is the closest to human transcription that we have seen, and we love the user interface.

  ### 44. Great summaries

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The summaries are super accurate. The action items save a lot of time. The UX is great and makes it super easy to create highlights and share clips which is invaluable for a sales org.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Wish it wouldn't start recording until after the actual call starts. Also had some trouble trying to share our videos with another workspace.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No longer have to take notes or meeting summaries. Easy to pass along key points and action items with the broader team.

  ### 45. Great experience overall very easy and convenient.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love that grain is added directly into my meeting automatically. Once the calls are set, it's not something you have to think about to set up with every call. It's already done!

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

One thing that would be helpful with grain videos is to be able to either cut parts of the video or hide it somehow from links you have to send to clients. I know that's dabbling in video editing but it would be helpful.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a place off my computer memory to save all client calls is a giant lifesaver, or I should say, a computer saver. My computer can sometimes run slow, and using all its memory to store videos does not help.

  ### 46. Grain is a must for customer-facing teams.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I use grain every single day to make life easier sharing call recordings, pulling out key moments to share with internal teams, and ensuring I have a record for interactions with clients.

Excited to try this new HubSpot automation > note feature!

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The one minor gripe I have about Grain is the default sharing permissions & having to toggle to share externally rather than being set to allow external sharing by default is minorly annoying. I send my call recording to clients all the time.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automatic call recording, call transcription, hosting a sharable URL to send clients to review what was previously dicussed - saves a ton of time explaining the same thing over and over.

  ### 47. Lets me be completely focused on my meetings vs. taking notes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meera K. | Head of Growth, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain hops into my meetings without me having to remember to add it. I love being able to create highlights that I can share internally and externally without having to share the entire meeting.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Nothing to dislike, it does what I need it to!

Sometimes I run into some difficulties creating a highlight when the dragging mechanism hits another element on the page but never a blocker.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Removes the need for note-taking ensuring I have higher quality meetings.

  ### 48. Grain has transformed how I think about and process meetings.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The ability to count on our discussions being captured and easily searchable/shareable has been a game changer! I really appreciate being able to send a highlight from a meeting immediately.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I wish Grain would take some queues from Fathom video notetaker. Grain should note in the timeline when people started screen sharing, it should record Zoom chats in the timeline, and it should keep track of action items and questions asked.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain helps me keep track of major themes in conversations and refer back to things that were decided or action items that need to be followed up on. I also value being able to share summaries of meetings with people who did not attend.

  ### 49. Grain is the transcription service every researcher needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The most helpful aspect of Grain, for me as a UX Researcher, is the ability to take live notes (highlights), review them later on, and get a massive head start on analysis/synthesis based on those notes.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The interaction of having Grain join Zoom as a participant is a little weird. Sometimes Grain automatically joins, and sometimes research participants are confused about this mysterious attendee entering the Zoom room. It would be nice if it were a seamless plug-in and not a robot attendee.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain is solving the problem of having to review video files of interviews each time I want to refer to something someone said or see trends across a group of interviews.

  ### 50. Powerful tool for a great price

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dana R. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The summaries of meetings is awesome. I can read through it quickly and it makes me remember the whole meeting.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The transcript is not 100% accurate, and the summary feature can be improved a lot, but it's very helpful as is.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can be more present and just focus on the meeting and not worry about taking notes. It gives me a great resource to go back and refer to later.
