"Necessity Software!"
5/5
What do you like best about Gong?

In Gong, you can set rules and settings that notify you if x,y,z were or were not said or addressed during a call. It's a great training tool to help show where we can improve our talk tracks.

There are pipeline reports that make it easier for me to see deals coming my team's way. I appreciate the transparency, it allows me to be more prepared for deal assignments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gong?

Under a specific client, I'd like to be able to see the entire call history instead of the last recorded call and emails (this might be a lack of platform knowledge on my side) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Never Lose Track of a Conversation Again"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Gong?

Gong’s AI notetaking has been a game-changer for me. With several external calls a day, it’s easy to lose track of what was said, but having every call recorded and transcribed means I can always go back and reference the details. The search functionality makes it simple to find exactly the part of a conversation I need, and I love being able to share snippets with internal teams for product feedback. It also makes it easy to send call recordings to clients when they want to revisit a discussion. Overall, it saves me time, keeps me organized, and ensures nothing slips through the cracks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gong?

Sometimes it can be tricky to ensure the recording joins when the call is initiated by the client, especially if the meeting is on Teams versus Zoom. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Top-Notch Call Analysis with Excellent AI Transcription and Chatbot"
5/5
What do you like best about Gong?

It’s easy to invite to meetings, very easy to find calls and the tools it offers to view and analyze the calls are top-notch.

It’s one of the few good good use cases for AI. It’s transcription capabilities are very good and with the chatbot you can ask it anything and get a fairly accurate response with sources for you to manually verify.

Finally, their MCP server makes it even more capable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gong?

It’s a bit cumbersome to navigate and some features are weirdly fragmented across different menus. It’s also got a bit of a learning curve Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Useful call analysis and sales reports, but transcription accuracy can limit insights"
4/5
What do you like best about Gong?

Call Analysis, Conversation Intelligence, and Sales Reports are indispensable in my role as an Outbound Sales Agent because they help me understand customer needs, identify objections, and improve my sales performance. Call Analysis helps me evaluate my calls and identify areas for improvement. Conversation Intelligence helps me understand customer behavior, recognize buying signals, and handle objections more effectively. Sales Reports let me track key performance indicators, measure my conversion rate, and identify trends in successful and unsuccessful calls. I also found the recordings and conversation summaries mostly reliable for capturing main points like needs, objections, and follow-up actions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gong?

Speech-to-Text, Natural Language Processing, and Access Controls/Permissions can be challenging. Transcription accuracy can be affected by different accents and mixed languages, and it can miss details when customers speak quickly or switch between languages, which can lead to misleading insights and makes it harder to catch and correct mistakes. Understanding the full context and intent of customer conversations is not always easy. Managing access to sensitive customer information also requires clear and reliable permissions to ensure data privacy and security. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Helpful deal scoring and call summaries, but dashboards and segmentation can be clunky"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Gong?

I like Opportunity Scoring because it uses AI and revenue signals to assess how likely a deal is to close successfully. It analyzes customer interactions, engagement levels, sales activity, and other deal signals to highlight which opportunities deserve the most attention, which helps with prioritization and allocating resources more effectively. The AI also helped by automatically summarizing a sales call and highlighting key risks and next steps, and recordings and transcripts were mostly reliable and useful for reviewing calls. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gong?

Interactive Dashboards can sometimes feel cluttered, which makes it difficult to quickly spot the most important insights. Data Segmentation is time-consuming since creating, adjusting, and managing filters can be complex. Budgeting/Forecasting requires frequent updates and validation, especially when underlying data changes. AI recommendations also still need human review and context, and there were times it flagged a deal as risky even though recent customer interactions were positive. Transcripts had occasional errors that required manual verification. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very reliable conversation records, but limited value for deal management and API"
5/5
What do you like best about Gong?

The thing I get the most value from is having a searchable record of every customer and prospect conversation across the sales team. In product marketing, I am constantly trying to understand how customers describe their problems, what language resonates, which competitors come up, and where messaging is landing or missing. Before Gong, getting that information meant sitting in on calls individually or asking reps to summarize what they heard, which was always filtered and incomplete. Now I can search across hundreds of calls by keyword, pull exact quotes, and jump to the specific moment in a conversation where something relevant was said. That has fundamentally changed how I build positioning, write battle cards, and develop enablement content.

The transcription accuracy is strong enough that I trust it for pulling direct quotes and doing keyword analysis at scale. Speaker identification is usually correct, and the search works well for finding specific topics across large volumes of calls. The conversation intelligence layer on top, things like competitor detection, topic tracking, and engagement signals, helps surface patterns I would never find manually. When I need to know how often a specific competitor is coming up this quarter versus last, or what objections are trending across a segment, Gong gives me that in minutes.

The coaching workflows have also created an indirect benefit for my work. When managers flag calls as strong examples of handling an objection or running a good discovery, those become source material for enablement content. The library of real call examples organized by topic is something I reference constantly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gong?

The deal management features feel like they were built to surface insights from conversations and then bolted onto the pipeline management problem. The deal boards and risk indicators are useful at a glance, but our team still runs pipeline reviews out of Salesforce, and Gong's deal view ends up being a parallel system to check rather than something that replaces what we already have. The risk signals are genuinely helpful for catching deals that are quietly stalling, but the suggested next steps tend to be generic enough that they do not tell a rep anything they would not already know.

The API has been a source of frustration. We have tried to pull conversation data into internal reporting tools, and the rate limits are tight, the data model is not always intuitive, and getting transcripts and analytics into a usable format required more engineering work than expected. For straightforward pulls it is fine, but anything more involved takes real development time.

The interface has gotten busier as Gong has added features. For someone who primarily uses it for transcript search and call review, there is a lot of surface area dedicated to features I do not touch. The automated scoring and analysis can also feel overconfident on calls where context matters more than pattern matching, like flagging an objection as poorly handled when the rep actually navigated it well given the situation.

The pricing is also significant. Gong is not a cheap tool, and for teams where only a subset of users actively engage with it beyond basic call recording, the per-seat cost can be hard to justify across the full organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable call recordings and actionable coaching insights, with AI that still needs review"
5/5
What do you like best about Gong?

I really like how reliable Gong is at capturing customer conversations. The call recordings and transcripts are dependable, and the summaries make it easy to pull out key discussion points, customer concerns, action items, and follow-ups without rewatching or scrubbing through an entire recording. I also appreciate being able to quickly revisit past conversations and get the context I need.

The coaching insights felt genuinely actionable because they pointed to specific areas I could improve, like my talk-to-listen ratio, key moments I missed, and opportunities to ask stronger follow-up questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gong?

Some of the AI-generated insights are not as accurate or consistent as I’d like. At times, the recommendations or analysis still require manual review, and I’d like more streamlined ways to turn those insights into actionable follow-ups and workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable conversation records with helpful follow-up and scheduling"
5/5
What do you like best about Gong?

I like that Gong gives a very reliable record of conversations. Lead follow-up is indispensable because it ensures that no interested lead is lost, and timely, consistent follow-ups keep prospects engaged and increase the likelihood of converting interest into a qualified opportunity. Meeting scheduling is also key because it turns interest into concrete action by making it easy to book the next conversation, reducing friction, accelerating the sales cycle, and ensuring clear next steps. Together, follow-up maintains momentum while meeting scheduling converts that momentum into a meaningful sales interaction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gong?

The chatbot is frustrating because it has limited understanding for complex or nuanced questions, can feel generic and lack personalization, and the handover to humans can be slow or frustrating. It can also lead to repetitive interactions where customers have to repeat information, and it can give wrong or incomplete answers that damage trust. Overall it can feel impersonal, especially when customers prefer speaking to a knowledgeable person for important or complex topics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable call recordings and summaries, but I still double-check the AI analysis"
5/5
What do you like best about Gong?

I mainly use Gong’s AI to generate call summaries after major demos or introductory calls. It means I don’t have to worry about taking notes during the conversation, and I can rely on the recording afterward to review what was discussed, create a clear summary, and follow up with a recap email. It’s also very reliable for keeping a record of conversations, and I like being able to pull the call transcript and get a quick summary. For coaching, it’s helpful to see how much time a seller spends talking, whether they missed an important topic based on what the prospect shared, and the overall areas where the call could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gong?

I still need to double-check the analysis, just in case there are hiccups with specific terms or with what was actually said. For deal visibility and identifying risks, I often paste the transcript/summary into other AI tools like Claude or Chatgpt to help identify the actual risks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
