**What do you like best about Field Nation?**

There is a lot of work on their platform. It's fairly easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Field Nation?**

Basically everything else. They have no interest in retaining providers. The providers pay for the platform while the buyers don't. They don't listen to the problems the providers have. The work orders sometimes require 15 to 30 minutes to understand the scope of work/watch videos on what your doing ( required by buyer ) and install apps or prepare, and buy equipment supplies, sometimes you don't get reimbursed. You never get reimbursed for prep time and these buyers almost always cram as much as possible into prep time. After you get done reviewing the work order you have to "request" it. Then there is a 1 in 100 chance that you get the work order. So be prepared for on average spending 4 to 6 hours reviewing and submitting requests for orders to maybe get one.

It hasn't solved any problems for me. Worst platform ever for the service providers. They have a horrible support team and you are better off getting help on reddit.

Field Nation makes it very easy to locate many on demand technicians in many areas. Many technicians have been very friendly and professional.

Sometimes technicians do not show up to appts when they are scheduled. can create issues as a business.

We are penalized if our customer reschedules/canceled. However, technicians have canceled on us several times and FieldNation doesn't give us any solution. The fee for your platform is pretty high too.

I like the ease we get from Field Nation when seeking a technician with the expertise needed, as well as the variety of options to put in when publishing an order.

I don't like certain parts of Field Nation when logging templates and adding new clients to the system, as it can sometimes be difficult when creating a new order.

Field Nation is solving our need to find a wider variety of technicians much faster. We can create orders and see all the providers the platform offers divided by distance, skills and reviews.

If we ever have a problem with the Platform or with any tech, Field Nation is always there to help. They make things quick and easy.

Sometimes their website is slow and Quirky. And we do have techs tell us that they can not pick up or close out work orders from the platform.

In the past, we had requested that techs can not just set a time on site, and Field Nation had the programmers change this for us.

Ease of use.  I can create and publish a work order in a short amount of time.  I like the fact that I can get a job up quickly and then update it as needed. the process is efficient and quick.

I don't really have any complaints.  Figuring out how the WOs get paid seems to be an issue.  When we have a dispute it's hard to know when someone actually gets paid so we end up with bad ratings which aren't our fault.

We need qualified tech all over the country.  Our company could not afford to send techs efficiently.  Getting access to techs in many different part of the country makes us more productive and profitable.

Hard to tell if provider will be reliable or not, even after reviewing their past jobs. A lot of late providers, or under prepared.

Not enough techs for how many sites we have. We have sites across North America and FN helps prevent us from sending techs across the country.

Field Nation account management team is really helpful. Once you have gone through the training the program is easy to understand. 
I like that I was walked through the first job posting I put up.

Have not been on the platform long enough have any negatives.

What I like the best about Field Nation is that it is user-friendly. It has features that are very useful for customers looking for the best techs within their criteria/preferences. Plus, I also love the idea that we can also communicate with the tech when negotiating the price and explaining further about the job. When I started using Field Nation I was amazed at how fast we can get a tech for the job.

Every time I used Field Nation, the tool is loading, but that's fine. Honestly, I can't think of any needed improvement for it as of now. So far, it's doing a great job.

The problem of having a hard time finding a tech for our project. It benefits us this time since we can easily get a technician right away, unlike before we still need to wait for how days before we can find one.

The platform is absolutely horrible. It is incredibly difficult to do anything. Twice I have providers been paid incorrectly, and the only solution costs me more money. Additionally, the fees are outrageous.
Customer/Technical Support is terrible. No one speaks english, so after being on hold for 20 minutes, there is no progress toward a solution.

Needed temp help with a wiring project and they were able to find a resource.

Ease of use and access to the lot of people; however, ease of use is relative, since we have an account rep who is there to help with things like batch setups and grouping.  if it's a simple task in just one geography, it's very intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Field Nation?**

Some hidden costs that were not communicated properly but also the talent pool is a hit and miss.  In some areas, there are great people while in other areas it wasn't easy finding someone willing to work with the allocated budget. As you can guess that would be the big metro areas where you need FN the mots.

**Recommendations to others considering Field Nation:**

Make certain you have a good account team from the FN side, especially if wanting to use the service across North America, there are tax implications like GST if using the service in Canada.  Also, set expectations, the FN app can only do so much, if you need specific pieces of data from the field work or need to provide custom training and provide confidential documents you will need a plan for this.  FN takes a cut from the payments you make, make certain to work that in your calculations in terms what you want to pay the independent contractors.

**What problems is Field Nation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're solving the problem of having access to a pool of talent to handle specific tasks associated with device installations at retail.  Relying on the gig segment for resources for one-of-a-kind temp assignments is difficult in terms of vetting people for skills, and capabilities.

The user interface is very clean and straightforward forward, and easy to use. I can quickly create a Work Order and almost immediately get techs to request the job or counteroffer.

I have heard from multiple techs that they get money taken out of after the job is completed, so many will counter for more money to offset that fee.

**Recommendations to others considering Field Nation:**

Have some standard WO types that you can template. Makes creating jobs faster.

Quickly get a local tech to preform a site survey at a location to assess the Local Area network and document the existing infrastructure so our engineers can propose a solution the customer will sign off on.

-It's access to a platform of skilled workers all over North America. Perfect for businesses that need to scale quickly and route work to drivers as soon as possible.

It's fee setup of charging both the worker and the company is not fair or equitable and does not allow a truly free marketplace. It also does not allow for a scalable multi-location upload per work order.

-Make sure you have a scalable way to deploy your work to the platform.

Finding workers in places where we thought recruiting would be difficult like parts of Canada is super helpful. The sales team and product team was very transparent about what is and isn't possible.

The ability to find technicians almost anywhere across the country.  In most cases, having the ability to select from multiple Pros.  Far above and beyond other platforms I've used

**What do you dislike about Field Nation?**

Technicians that try to lie about their experience and are not held accountable for it.  If a tech requests a service call and we assign it to them, they should know what they are doing.  If we have to tell them to leave because they are not qualified, we still have to pay them.  They should be penalized somehow for it.  It wastes our time, and the customer's time.

**Recommendations to others considering Field Nation:**

Be careful of "pros" that are not qualified to do the job posted.

Recruitment.  I'm finding that the recruitment team is very helpful and understands our needs.  Yes, it helps finding techs which makes my job easier.  I believe it has.

**What do you like best about Field Nation?**

The ability to create jobs and dispatch them to qualified technicians quickly and efficiently. The ability to screen candidates for ability and experience ensures I get the right tech most of the time.

**What do you dislike about Field Nation?**

The speed at which the response to the technician is required. Sometimes I have had the job up for 10 minutes and have already started getting declines from techs due to the quick turnaround in availability. I don't know why I need to be informed of who doesn't want the job, I can just route it to someone who does want the work in my own time.

**What problems is Field Nation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nationwide tech needs with minimal notice are being handled quickly much to the joy of the client. The dispatch and WO process is easy and the FlightBoard is easy to manage.

The portal access and availability in different countries. Ability to change the time and date and republish easy , it is a very easy to use site. Not sure what benefits having a paid version would be to the portal access.

**What do you dislike about Field Nation?**

There is no phone app for the dispatch managers to be able to see the techs. 
Also some times is hard to get techs in certain regions but offering more money usually does the trick.

I would encourage everyone to use field nation and be on field nation to offer services it is a great de-centralization tool

It helps me bring professional tech support to customers where we do no have our own staff and we rely on the people in the area. Also helps local economy grow as it generates new jobs for people.

I find the data on each technician (distance from site, experience, number of jobs completed) to be very helpful when selecting a tech.

**What do you dislike about Field Nation?**

We often receive requests to increase work order amounts due to the percentages Field Nation takes out of the technician's pay. The ability to build a template with the basic subscription would be awesome.

**What problems is Field Nation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Field Nation is making it easy for me to find technicians nationally without worrying about competing for business. It saves me a lot of time making phone calls to random businesses that may or may not want my scope of work.

The number of resources available is great.  It's also very easy to track and review those with whom you contract.  I also like the weekly approval grading report so that we can stay on top of our metrics.

**What do you dislike about Field Nation?**

It can be hit or miss with some of the resources.  We've had an experience or two that could have been better.  Not the fault of Field Nation by any means, but we've decided to notify our customers that the tech we send onsite is 3rd party so they know beforehand they are not a direct representation of our company just to be on the safe side should they have a negative experience.

**What problems is Field Nation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The primary problem we are solving is finding a reliable resource in locations where we don't have our own presence.   The benefit of having someone local saves us so much on travel expenses.

The ability to get several candidates in a short period of time. Knowing a background check and drug screen have already been performed saves time when trying to get a tech quickly.

Technicians don't always have good resumes posted. Creating reports for invoices could be easier or maybe I just don't have the proper training to do them. I wish I had the time to learn more about the reporting features.

When I have a short-term project is it easy to get tech from the vast selection Field Nations has to offer. I also like the ability to be able to choose techs who have worked with us in the past. I have several repeat technicians that are asked for by name when I have a position open.

A few of the downsides of the platform include: Not a lot of support for remote locations where you need to have work done; Fees charged both ways (provider and buyer) which leads to providers wanting you to cover their costs without realizing a cost is also incurred on your end

The limitations of the work order interface / system are somewhat troubling.  Many jobs cannot be fully defined at the outset.

Field nation is very good at allowing us to find the right talent for the WO. The possibility to run reports and the quantity of information and data we have at our disposal. It works great at managing the workflow on the day of the service requested.

**What do you dislike about Field Nation?**

When removing a technician from the WO, it takes a long time. Also, technicians can change their time onsite, even after speaking to the service delivery manager. 
Also, it crashes a lot, and it's very slow when there is a lot of activity going on.
The selection pool could be better too. A lot of locations are very remote, with almost zero talent available.

**Recommendations to others considering Field Nation:**

AMAZING tools available to it's users, it doesn't matter the area they want covered. FN has a wide selection of vendors we can trust. It has made our job and our life better, and we're very happy.

Without Field Nation, our client's business would not be successful. FN is quick to help with our concerns, they have a wide variety of technicians in many different areas, which makes it easier for us to fill out a WO. And a lot of flexibility.

The various reports and info you can pull from their Work Activy function is a huge timesaver and very easy to use. Also Support is always helpful and quick to answer any inquiries.

Would prefer to have a way to find changes made on a Work Order in an easier way, for example, who wrote this particular note or changed this particular field. I feel like technicians being able to change their time after the Work Order has been completed is also a risk.

Definitely the best platform in the market for IT work. Very helpful support and tons of great tools to make your job easier.
