  ### 1. Shocking Experience

**What do you like best about eKomi?**

The software was ok until they changed it and then it went downhill really badly and then they blamed their customers instead of taking responsibilty.

**What do you dislike about eKomi?**

We were a customer of theirs. They changed their internal system and removed our credit card details. We received a request to enter our credit card details in their new system but it would not accept it. We attempted to contacted them but go not reply. The service was cut off and we thought fine end of the matter.

Then a few months later we get a contact through our website (eKomi had the directors contact details and email address from the set up process but we never received any emails from them about an issue) threatening with legal action and demanding we pay all the bills including after they cut off the service. 

We replied to ask what the issue was and they advise that no one had replied that had sent us numerous emails - we checked every address and no one had received any emails from them. We provided proof of this to eKomi and they simply didn't care. They sent internal screenshot of some messaging system they used but they didn't come to us. That is a major red flag.....

I want to remind any readers of this that eKomi software is designed to send emails to your customer for feedback. if they can even contact their own customers about an issue - what good is their software to you?? Seriously utterly incompetent. 

We had a signed a year contract which was already finished when the issue with credit card happened - just for clarity the issue was on their side with their new system - nothing to do with our credit card. We had screenshots from the issue when we attempted to contact them.

Again eKomi didn't care - they claim the contract renews for 12 month each time automatically without any notification or consent from the user.... seriously talk about draconian.... Is that even legal?

They threatened us with legal action to pay the full 2nd year including the months after the service had been stopped. The finance person couldn't care less - she only cared about getting money out of us. The fact their software failed miserably and the issue was entirely on their side and they didn't respond to our request for help meant nothing to her. 

There are many alternatives out there - All I know for sure is eKomi should be avoid at all cost.

It didnt - it failed and then made us pay under the threat of legal action for their utter incompetence.

User-friendly. We can now conduct pulse surveys with our employees and quickly analyze the results using real-time analytics

The platform UI and UX is a bit outdated and not the best compared to other reviews platforms

Like many others, they gather reviews that appear on Google, but others offer a more visually appealing UI, a wider range of features, and often at a lower cost

**What do you like best about eKomi?**

The standard eKomi account allows for SMS reviews. The review request asks whether they have enjoyed your services. If no, they're filtered out to a feedback page that allows them to give advise that would improve your services. If yes, they are forwarded to a section where they can leave a Facebook or Google review.

**What do you dislike about eKomi?**

The problem with managing you own reviews (that is, not using any review software) is inevitably people are confused as to whether they have a Google account or not. The eKomi system does not circumvent this issue. It placed the responsibility onto the reviewer to know and decide what platform they will review on. This causes many to drop out of the review process.

The widgets provided for websites are so far below par it's not funny. It's hard to believe they're so clunky and inflexible. It's like going back to HTML1. As a WordPress developer I was expecting to have some fun with these widgets. I was also expecting eKomi to make my life easier by giving me flexible and effective widgets. I was so very disappointed. 

My biggest gripe is now the process of canceling my account.  Unlike pretty much every other account in the world, you can't cancel from inside your account. You have to email eKomi with a cancellation request. I did this some months back and didn't get a reply. A fee of several hundred dollars was then transacted. I emailed them again, this time advising them that I would have to contact my bank to reverse the fee if I didn't get an instant response. The response from Mathew said that he would forward my request "off to accounts to be actioned." It hasn't been actioned. Three payments have now been transacted since I first requested cancellation.  It's very disturbing and either sloppy or unethical. I'll find out which when/if they process my refund.

**What problems is eKomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The eKomi system did help increase the number of reviews I received. This was of course a major objective. The benefit to me have been new clients who told me that the good reviews were the reason they came to me.

The other reason I used eKomi was for an SEO boost. I think the review system at eKomi was somewhat over-sold to me. I do SEO for clients but am somewhat naive about local SEO and the role reviews play in this. I've used Reviews.io for clients and seen really great gains in local SEO when combined with other SEO practices. I was keen to keen to test and hopefully confirm the information my eKomi representative gave me concerning the power of reviews. I was told repeatedly that keywords in reviews and review replies were like some kind of dynamite for SEO.  I saw little if any result from using eKomi in this way but think perhaps many other factors played into this and won't condemn them for something that was probably my fault.

Look at other companies. There are a dozen or more competitors out there.

Like so many others out there, they collect reviews that show up on Google. Others do it with better UI, more features and often cheaper.

If you don't expect a reply for months, it may be a good solution for you.

**What do you dislike about eKomi?**

We used their services for two years, and then decided to change to a better more responsive service.  The lack of support we attributed to the company being based overseas, however not only days would go by, but months, without a response.  We emailed to cancel, and received the same stock auto reply from customer service. When I finally got though to billing and asked why they kept charging our card, they pretended like they had not received my emails to cancel.  They asked me to prove the cancellation; stating that the contract auto renews every year, even though we had cancelled prior to the renewal date, and removed their software months beforehand.  To this day they continue to charge our credit card, and have even gone so far as to write threatening emails to us.  I am disgusted that a reviews company would treat it's long term clients like this.  

**Recommendations to others considering eKomi:**

Do your homework and select a trusted reviews company. 

**What problems is eKomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had used them for two years for customer reviews.  While we did not need support of any kind, the software worked.  Worse than any gym membership horror story you may have heard- trying to cancel is almost impossible. Be VERY careful about working with this company.

First I love the idea of getting employees to be more engaged.  They have some cool abilities (glassdoor scores) and I can see the value.

**What do you dislike about eKomi?**

It fell short when it came to surveys and other forms of internal communication.

**Recommendations to others considering eKomi:**

I would check out a few other platforms to see which is the best fit for you and your initiatives.  eKomi is not the best, but also not the worst.  It may work for you, it may not.

**What do you like best about eKomi?**

I help run a small, all-volunteer nonprofit and eKomi has been super helpful getting us to leverage their platform within our budget. Part of our nonprofit mission is digital marketing education, and the staff at eKomi helped us put together a great seminar presentation about review collection/management. The was very educational, full of great data, and not salesy keeping with our mission. They've also offered to write a blog post about our nonprofit to help promote our programs. The benefit we see in sticking with eKomi is the integration with Google search results and AdWords. Having a star rating in those results is a powerful tool! If things go south with eKomi, I'll be sure to update this review, but so far we have been very pleased with the last 12 months.

**What do you dislike about eKomi?**

If you go off-platform you lose your reviews, so it's important to understand that risk up front and to continue to solicit reviews cross-platform (G+, Facebook, Yelp, etc.).

Be sure to understand that the reviews you collect in eKomi belong to eKomi. If you go off-platform you will lose them.

Review solicitation is easy/quick, our reviews can now be displayed in both paid and organic search results!

The most helpful benefit is being able to see more concrete data from our employees from pulse surveys (Really important in my industry) allowing more transperancy within our team and allowing us to be more effective.

**What do you dislike about eKomi?**

Figuring out how to use the service, but I signed up for a call with the consultants to help me out with it.

eKomi helped me understand my team and who to look after, so we have no unhappy customer support agents, it has helped us quickly understand any holes we have on our, part and serve customers better with a happier team.

I typically prefer monthly billing but it was not a huge problem with eKomi because of their low price point.

We now have our fingers on the pulse of our employee’s mood, behavior and the impact it has on their performance. We are engaging the dissatisfied employees in a timely manner and creating brand ambassadors out of the happy employees by driving them to leave positive feedback on social networks.
