Egnyte platform is super friendly and easy to use and implement. We saved all our admin and project stuffs in Egnyte every day. And Egnyte is very easy to integrate with Microsoft, Adobe, and AudoDesk products. Plus, Egnyte has a very strong customer services team who would be willing to solve our problems. **What do you dislike about Egnyte?** I cannot find any dislike about Egnyte. We have been using Egnyte since 2008 and they only have less than 10 issues that we need to make phone calls. **Recommendations to others considering Egnyte:** We have been with Egnyte since 2008. They have stored, maintained, and secured our data very well. With Egnyte's virtual hard drive technology, my partners and I can work from home a lot in the night. We even carry our laptops to oversea and keep our business running no matter where we are . When this COVID-19 hit, we have no problem to send our admin employees working from home. Even now, we begin to implement to story the soil lab testing results in Egnyte, and our technician can access the data via their smart phones and get the results right away. Within 12 years of experience with Egnyte, they only have few episodes that requires us to shut down our office for few hours, but thanks to their great customer services and technical team, they responded very quick and get us back to work in no time. Egnyte is a reliable business and partner to work with. I strongly recommend Egnyte to any small or big businesses or even personal freelancer. **What problems is Egnyte solving and how is that benefiting you?** The best benefit is we can work any place in the world where WiFi is available. I personally work from Taiwan and can access company data through Egnyte in Taiwan. Their virtual hard drive works very well with Window platform and it literally open files very fast. We have been with Engyte since 2008 the year we started the business. Within 12 years, we only have few episodes and Egnyte's great technical teams responded very fast. When we started with Egnyte 1st few years, there was few connecting issue and file got locked problem and their great customer services solved our problem right away. I appreciated being able to speak with someone fluent in English who understood technical issues without requiring multiple handoffs. That part was a plus. Ease of use was decent, but not anything special. I can get the same with Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox. **What do you dislike about Egnyte?** Where do I begin? The biggest issue came when I needed short-term access to a single account for one of my customers. Egnyte refused, unless we paid for an entire year of service—$1,285.92—just to get two hours of access. That’s not flexibility, that’s extortion. We offered to pay a reasonable fee for limited access, but Egnyte wouldn’t budge. Another major frustration: there is no free or included admin account. You must burn a paid license for even the most basic administrative access. As an MSP managing accounts for clients, this is a serious limitation. Ease of Implementation and Inegration: Not terrific. I had to touch each user's computer to get the Egnyte client installed. Also, the client is unstable, but to be fair, the OneDrive client isn't very stable either. Recommendations to others considering Egnyte: If you're a managed service provider or you value fair business practices, think carefully. There are other platforms out there with more flexible policies and pricing that don't hold your data hostage. Dropbox is excellent and you can get a BAA. Same goes for OneDrive. **What problems is Egnyte solving and how is that benefiting you?** Egnyte solves the problem of centralized, secure file storage and access control, especially for businesses that need to meet strict compliance requirements (HIPAA, FINRA, etc.). It provides a hybrid option that works well for companies transitioning away from on-prem file servers but still needing local sync and offline access. There was a time, just a few years ago this was something special. Not so today, there are plenty of other choices out there that can meet and exceed your compliance requirements. For my clients, especially in healthcare and construction, Egnyte helps by: Enabling remote work without sacrificing security Giving fine-grained access control to folders and files Offering audit trails and DLP tools to meet compliance needs Integrating with tools like Microsoft 365 while offering more control than OneDrive or Google Drive, but just barely. That said, the benefits are undercut by rigid pricing and licensing models. The lack of a true admin license and the refusal to offer limited access options significantly reduce its value—especially for MSPs managing accounts across multiple clients. ### 16. Egnyte is a safe and easy way to send confidential files to exterior contacts or colleagues. As a marketing agency we also have very heavy files with high definition pictures that can't be sent my email and it take ages to upload them in Teams or Sharepoint. Egnyte is quite fast and does the job **What do you dislike about Egnyte?** Not fully integrated with other apps. I wish I could just do a right click on the file or the folder I want to send, click on "add it to Engyte" or "send to Egnyte", get a link, copy paste it in my email and send it, that easy, without having to connect to Egnyte and upload the file on the platform **What problems is Egnyte solving and how is that benefiting you?** We can't send heavy files by emails or Teams and using Wetransfer is forbidden by our company for security reasons. Some employees use it but we are not supposed to. The sites with cellular modems use the caching option, so that they can edit CAD drawings and documents quickly, allowing Egnyte to sync the files in the background. This has ensured that users aren't resorting to working with files on their desktop risking loss or version issues. Having the drawings on an iPad with the Egnyte iOS app also saves on paper, as users move around the construction site. Once a user is set up, I have rarely needed to provide support. **What do you dislike about Egnyte?** It would be nice if there was another grouping between Power User and Admin, where a project manager could be assigned rights to certain users/tasks, such as recovering from trash something another user mistakenly deleted. Currently, only the user or admin can perform this task. **What problems is Egnyte solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ability to access files related to a construction project both onsite and in the office.
