**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

I have been using CyberArk for the past 5+ years, and this review is based on my experience. In my view, CyberArk PAM is a powerful and reliable solution for managing and securing privileged access. It provides strong password vaulting, session monitoring, and credential rotation capabilities. While the implementation can be complex, the platform itself is highly secure, scalable, and well suited for enterprise environments.

Overall, CyberArk Privileged Access Management is a comprehensive solution for securing privileged accounts in hybrid/cloud environments. The features we have found most valuable are password vaulting and compliance reporting. CyberArk PAM has significantly improved our privileged access controls and helps us meet security and compliance requirements.

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

I don’t really have any dislikes, apart from the fact that the initial setup and integration required some effort.

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CyberArk integrates smoothly with a broad range of operating systems, databases, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications, which makes it a strong fit for complex, hybrid environments.

**What do you like best about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

I greatly appreciate CyberArk Privileged Access Manager's robust integration capabilities with multiple operating systems and databases, which significantly streamlines our operational workflow. Its ease of access and user-friendly graphical user interface make navigating the platform straightforward, thereby enhancing user experience and reducing the learning curve. The secure storage of every password in the vault offers enhanced security, eliminating the need for me to manually save passwords on my system, and removing the burden of having to remember multiple passwords. Additionally, the straightforward and smooth deployment process of CyberArk Privileged Access Manager was impressive, making the initial setup less daunting.

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

I dislike CyberArk Privileged Access Manager's compatibility with web applications. Specifically, passwords stored in web browsers and login credentials used for web access are not properly rotated, which is a significant concern for maintaining security and efficiency.

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use CyberArk Privileged Access Manager for password rotation on Windows and Linux, storing passwords securely in the vault, eliminating manual password management and enhancing security.

**Reviewed by:** Aditya K. | Graduate Engineering Trainee, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2025

**What do you like best about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

What I love the most is that it provides a secure connection for end users without revealing the credentials. It also has integrated MFA, and we can define policies accordingly.

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

Everything is good but classical UI should be more effective. It's looking old fashion.

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CyberArk understands the biggest security challenge protecting against threats — and provides a secure way to manage it. It ensures that users get exactly the level of access they need, nothing more, nothing less.

  ### 6. Robust PAM for Enterprise

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2025

**What do you like best about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

It is SaaS based tool, where all other major PAM leaders and tools were working as on prem solution. And workflow automation and integration with IDP solution in cloud benefits us more.

There are few I liked,

Session recording and live monitoring
Audit logs for any activity done within the PAM session and by PAM administrator.
Integration with SIEM
UBA is also presented

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

While security features are top class with cyberark, the UI might feel intuitive for administrators and users. All the initial set up require significant time and technical expertise.

And there are more I could say as dislike points,

1. Not be able to use their administration PAM IOS or android app
2. PAM password automation often causing issue with switches
3. Integration with jumpcloud password automation has major risk and challenges
4. VPN less security open nee risk to organisation

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily, it helps secure, manage and monitor privilege account. Few of specific areas would be below,

1. Centralising all privilege credentials within untouchable vault
2. Manual credential managements
3. Session monitoring on limited visibility privileged accounts
4. Compliance and gaps

  ### 7. Privilege Access Managed Environment Vulnerabilities

Integration with tools
One of the best tools for PAM and functionality it has to integrate with multiple critical platforms gives us one of key controls

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

Complex architecture design which needs to be established
Challenges in Operations

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Restrict Privilege Access to various critical platform and helps us govern privilege user access management. Audit recording capabilities of sessions and providing just in time access with what is required and when access is required

  ### 8. Needs more maturity, too fragile!

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Semiconductors | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2024

**What do you like best about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

It can take care of automatic password rotation and comes with good security features such as one time password, password change on check out and one can do remote connection to many protocols such as http, RDP, ssh, databse etc

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

Product is too fragile, upgrades always breaks the product and never goes smoothly. Customer support needs to improve a lot. Integration was also troublesome.

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It takes care of our privileged identities and rotate their password. Also, admins do not need to see the password and they can directly connect to systems from PVWA portal. RBAC safes are desgined to seprate the roles between different levels in the team.

  ### 9. Best tool for remote access management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Narasimha M. | I'm an Cloud Infra Architect, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2024

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

Sometimes I felt could not connect to any servers after logging into MFA with SSO. It says username or password is incorrect

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connecting to servers securely and without worrying about sharing credentials to anyone

  ### 10. CyberArk is a one Stop solution for all Privilege access management related services

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

CyberArk is a SAAS based application which is used to manage all privilege application, Vaulting of secrets and other services

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

The password rotation is bit need improvement compared to other privilege access management tools such as Delinea/Thycotic secret servers

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is benifits.e to password voluting and secret creation

  ### 11. Identity Management Excellence

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan H. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2023

**What do you like best about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

Utilizing the Accounts Discovery function within CyberArk, along with its REST API, we have automated the detection, sorting and onboarding of new privilaged accounts freeing up man hours that used to be spent tracking down and manually adding accounts.

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

I believe the single thing that I have disliked about CyberArk was the product documentation. As an administrator, trying to use the past documentation methods, finding specific procedures was difficult. This issue has been much inproved with the web-based documentaiton.

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initially, the CyberArk PAS suite was implemented to reduce the risk of privileged passwords being stored in multiple spreadsheets around the enterprise. These spreadsheets were impossible to keep track of, as employees were forewver making local copies which created both a security issue, but also a support issue. When the Security Operations team would initiate a password change project for a specific segment, all of the "stored" passwords on the employee-copied spreadsheets would be wrong, resulting in an increase in SOCC calls for assistance with account lockouts.

  ### 12. CyberArk PAM is the strongest PAM I've ever tried.

CyberArk redundancy is hard to manage. Sometimes you need to manually bring it up after a failure.

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It can manage authentication, helping us to implement 2FA to secure the authentication - the most common attack surface.

  ### 13. CyberArk is a Identity and access management tool which used managed user and & account.

**What do you like best about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

CyberArk is one the best Privilege Access Management tools which used for enable or disable access of admin credentials as per our requirement. We can easily integrate with third party application access management.

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

CyberArk tools logout again and again and sometimes password not updated account organizational policy which setup for reset password.

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using CyberArk for managed Admin credentials access privileged and servers password management to access the organization server.

  ### 14. It is sometimes hard but overally good solutions to work with.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Korneliusz L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2023

**What do you like best about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

CyberArk PAM is actually great for scaling. If you are a little experienced user even impementing additional components may seem a little hard but when you follow all steps you could be sure everyting will work well.

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

Actually PTA component is something what really irritates me sometimes. First reason it is an Unix component and I am not an Unix specialist. Therefore it sometimes behave in not understandable ways.

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It surely solves the problem of: remembering many many passwords for systems such as Windows or Unix servers or network devices. It eliminates need to writing passwords down on sticky notes and having the same password for number of targets.

  ### 15. The definitive solution for Privileged Access Manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Felipe R. | Cybersecurity Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2023

**What do you like best about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

Session monitoring and isolating, Password management (automated rotation, reconciliation). Remedation capabilities are one of the strongest points in CyberArk PAM

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

Administration could be quite difficult and requires a lot of experience.

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitoring and Recording of privileged sessions across the organization

  ### 16. Highly capable product

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2023

**What do you like best about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

When implemented correctly, it can reduce risk of credential compromise, but people should be ready to put the effort into making this work as intended and not having it become a "storage" facility.

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

It's really more about the organization where support has not been as good as I would've hoped. A "large" org should have the capability to go directly to a higher level support tier when issues arise. Also, account personel could be more responsive to customer requests and needs. We tried a TAM in the past, and that didn't work out. A contnual check in with customers on a technical and non-technical basis is needed to help drive customer product ROI and vendor product development.

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With credential compromise a primary attack vector, we are reducing our risk when and where this technology is applied to our privilege accounts. They exist not only in interactive admin accounts, but in service and application accounts as well.

  ### 17. Scalable, reliable, fully fledged and highly customisable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2023

**What do you like best about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

There is no limit to the integrations as you can implement all sort of bespoke plugins and integrations.
Can be deployed in hybrid self-hosted on-prem and private cloud environments.
Supports the cross-border restrictions by allowing the deployment of as many satellites as required.

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

It's based on a vaulting passwords approach, which is a perfect use case for last resort accounts.
However for business as usual tasks it's better to implement fine grained just in time solutions.
To cover all the security use cases, it has to be combined with additional solutions like CyberArk Identity or CyberArk Conjur.

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vaulting of last resort accounts.
Agentless temporary access with password based accounts (Quite useful in those scenarios where agents cannot be implemented, or when temporary access elevation is not an easy to implement option).

  ### 18. Excellent PAM Management tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2023

**What do you like best about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

Its one of the secure PAM application where vault has not directly access has been given, all the access to vault is through its internal tool like CPAM, PVWA, PrivateArk etc.
Cloud solution also provided which is now a days good option for many orgnization.

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

I feel reporting is still not matured in CyberArk and as nobody can connect to its own DB so custom reports cannot be produced as per customer requirement which need to check by CyberArk.

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Orgnization can get rid of their shared credentials which are more targetted now a days for cyber attacks. As per standard complaince requirement can be achieved thorugh CyberArk.
It regulates and controls the access of various teams to different servers, password rotation is also nice feature. So to remember, mostly people use the simple password for shared accounts which has previleged access, this can be avoided.

  ### 19. A company moving forward to innovate IT security and its application.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2023

**What do you like best about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

The product allows audit compliance and managed access controls with the flexibility to allow privileged access to multiple applications with customisation to enhance the end user experience.

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

The product introduced a new user interface "v10"some versions back and although the interface is the primary access point for users, many of the administrative functions still require the admin to revert to the "classic" interface.

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The product helps with the issue of managing passwords in line with password polices and making the passwords available only when required and only to those approved to use them.

  ### 20. CyberArk - the standard of PAM

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2023

**What do you like best about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

The user interface is perhaps one of the best when it comes to the PAM space. Making things easy for the end user makes and admins life so much easier. Other providers do lack this ease of use.

Robust reporting. CyberArk lacks indepth reports that other PAM provider have. Its very unfortunate and CyberArk seems to fall behind the 8 ball on this catagory.

Its easy to manage PAM accounts using safe structure. PrivateArk also helpful for managing the end users. Bulk load account feature is very good.

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

Account on-boarding should be made more easy, platforms creation should provide process with inbuild contructs from PVWA it self.
There should be provision to create the custom reports.
If we can access the endusers from PVWA which we do using privateark, that also aread CyberArk should check.

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We integrated the CyberArk with our user management applications, so onboarding was really smooth. We were able to track Privilage accounts usage instead of shared credentials which helped us.

  ### 22. easy to access multiple servers.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2023

One of the most or best things about cyber ark is easy to access multiple servers just by login to a particular IP. and also connecting to jump host through it.

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can access multiple remote servers at the same time and do multiple tasks parallelly without any delay or error. it saves my time to by excuting mutliple tasks on multiple servers in a given time.

  ### 50. The Leader in PAS solutions but needs improvement in granular customizations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel L. | Senior Information Security Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2020

**What do you like best about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

It's a full-featured solution with numerous third-party integrations. Tools such as the DNA scans help provide visibility to organizations on how badly a PAS solution is needed but also helps to provide the information needed to prioritize which accounts need to be protected first.

**What do you dislike about CyberArk Privileged Access Manager?**

The solution is complex and requires professional services to just deploy the solution. Although documentation is provided to deploy in-house, it is sometimes spotty and requires knowledge of the product to properly deploy based on your environment. Any upgrades to new versions and any changes to the architecture requires professional services as well. And there isn't much resources to help identify your use cases other than the obvious ones. As you implement the solution, new use cases will probably pop up and may require changes that you won't be able to do in-house.

**Recommendations to others considering CyberArk Privileged Access Manager:**

Make sure to take into account all the use cases you can think of BEFORE evaluating a solution. Talk to your stakeholders and the different teams that would be affected by this. Make sure you have full organizational buy-in from the top down so everyone knows what changes to expect.

**What problems is CyberArk Privileged Access Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CyberArk PAS helps us secure our most privileged accounts. It also helps to automatically rotate passwords and securely store them in the vault. It can also store other passwords and may eliminate the need for a separate password management solution but that is based on your company's use case.
