Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) is primarily a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) offering provided by Microsoft as a cloud-based identity and access management (IAM) solution.

However, Azure AD also provides some PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) capabilities, such as the ability to use the Azure AD Graph API to programmatically access and manage directory data, or to extend the functionality of Azure AD through the use of custom applications and integrations.
