**What do you like best about LogMeIn Central?**

It is easy to use and fast. The remote control features are very reliable. It has a few things lacking, and others you have to pay extra for but overall in its basic mode is very efficient and just put a little into it and you have a powerful tool for IT.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

LogMeIn Central has some tools that you have to pay extra for and while useful tools like the security, automation , and advanced reporting, I have not been able to justify the extra cost. Another unfortunate part it is that while they encourage resellers and IT consultant to use it for their clients they do not provide branding features for those of us that need them.

**Recommendations to others considering LogMeIn Central:**

If you need a tool to remote control your systems or those of clients this is one of the easiest ones to use and deploy.

**What problems is LogMeIn Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use LogMeIn to remotely manage and monitor our clients systems and our own and use it to determine when there are problems we need to look at and resolve. Additionally we are able to remote in and provide behind the scenes management and fixing issues before a client even nows. We also provide remote support with it as clients request and need it. Lastly we make it available to customers s they can remote into their own computers as needed.

**What do you like best about LogMeIn Central?**

It had a great admin panel for listing your connected devices, and remote support worked very well. Machine updates never seemed to impede access. When I first began using Log-Me-In it had reasonable pricing and a free personal account for up to three devices so you could manage a test network or a family member PC easily.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

As time carried on the cost of Log-Me-In increased dramatically. The price increases were with ZERO notice, usually the only way it was even discovered was accounting would ask why this cost suddenly doubled from the regular monthly charge. Support was always mediocre, and seemed offboarded to a call center. And the final straw for myself and many IT Pros was when Log-Me-In revoked the free personal accounts with absolutely ZERO notice, leaving people with those accounts setup locked out of the connected devices on the account until they paid a subscription fee, just to access them to add a different way to manage them and remove Log-Me-In. After this occurred it left a terrible taste in everyone's mouth, my company cancelled our subscription with them, of which we had over 80 machines connected and used other software that didn't work nearly as well. But it just felt it was warranted. Having a free account expire is totally understandable, but to lock everyone out of their machines and force them to pay to access them with no notice is bad business.

I no longer use it and never will again unless I am put into a corner and have to do so for some explicit reason.

**What do you like best about LogMeIn Central?**

It works very well for our situation. We have several computers across multiple states. LogMeIn Central allows us to troubleshoot and access the computers quickly and efficiently. Installation of the software and navigation of the portal is quite simple. It allows you to set up multiple users with access to only specific systems if needed as well. You can also group computers for ease of use.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

There's nothing specific I dislike about this software. It could be a little cheaper.

Accessing and troubleshooting remote computers.

**What do you like best about LogMeIn Central?**

Update to my previous review (8//2024):
It's pretty clear the GoTo Central (and it's related siblings is no longer a priority for GoTo.  They recently released a series of buggy updates and the support answer for pretty much everything is "take it or leave it". There was an extened outage of 12+ hours, and again the support answers was "so what?". The program used to support headless machines (no monitors attached) and this feature was dropped.  

Remote access to Macs no longer works reliabily. And pro support answer is along the lines of "have you tried rebooting the internet?".

The price has gone up, support gotten worse and features have disappeared. 

Find a better solution.

Logme is a great corporate solution for remote access to desk tops. We use it for both remote maintenance/screen sharing and to enable users to access their desktops from home. We found remote desktop access to be more efficient than giving users laptops or VPN to servers.

Use it for remotely logging into other desktops for various maintenance tasks, or for helpdesk.

Great features we like:
- Handles multiple monitors really well (especially if you map 2 remote to 2 locals)
- Seems pretty bandwidth efficient and smart enough to reconnect on dropped signal
- Works across nat on both ends
- Good logging capabilities
- Appears secure (2-factor authentication)
- Works well with AD
- Users can access their PC from a home PC or MAC- or even iPhone or Android

We occasionally use some of the features like file transfer or remote reboot, but I've found these too hard to explain to most users.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

- Access to remote Macs not supported
- Pricy
- Unreliable (12+ hour downtime with the answer of "my oopsy")
- Untested version updates released
- Relatively pricy (but consider it worth it)
- No Chromebook client (I'd love to have loaner Chromebooks for users to check out to access their desktop machine when traveling

- Enabling users to access their desktop machines when out of the office (we have some users who always work remotely and just use LogMeIn to get their desktop

- Occasionally use file transfer or other features

**What do you like best about LogMeIn Central?**

Central has been a reliable, secure method to connect for staff and support puposes. 
It is easy to use, so training employees to use is very straight forward.  Training is mostly just an email with steps explained briefly. The rest is very intuitive once they connect a couple  of times. 
When an office computer is replaced, switching a user over to the new one is easy.  Was practically transparent to one recent user. 
Having a separate ability to browse files is great. Sometimes all that is needed is a copy of a document and the client tool makes it easy to retreive.  Dual screen support is a big feature for us. 
Support was helpful in our intial migration. Kudos to the helpful, friendly (and patient) staff!

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

Having to manually add and configure individuals to host computer. would be great if you could add and then "centrally" control what is available (checkboxes) from the Central portal.

**What problems is LogMeIn Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Staff needs an easy to use tool to remotely access daily.  They need it to not get in the way of their ability to work efficiently.

**What do you like best about LogMeIn Central?**

Central is an extension of the tried and true LogMeIn product.  It's incredibly stable and easy to use for remote access to workstations and servers, and provides an easy method for background access to gain system info and the like without interuppting the end user.  Their mobile app is top notch, as well.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

It touts itself as an RMM of sorts, but its feature set from that perspective pales in comparison to "true" RMMs, and its per-computer cost is crazy expesnsive compared to those other "true" RMM offerings.

**What problems is LogMeIn Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Central provides me an easy method both in the office and out to see and access important systems and servers, providing the ability to give quicker service to key clients.

The pricing model could be better.  Also Tier levels for number of users should have more flexibility and not such large jumps.  Why not go up in counts of 25 or 50 PC's.

The remote aspect of Log Me In was fantastic when it first started.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

The added RMM features were not useful to my company. The patching process and such were all very tedious and unreliable for us in comparison to NinjaRMM. We felt like we were being nickle and dimed for everything needed. The final straw was the security breach.

**What problems is LogMeIn Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote access into unattended endpoints was our usage and it did that well. The rest of the features always felt lackluster.

It's UI and information that is displayed within its options, resources and other computer information are ready available on my end instead of manually checking it on the computer itself.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

Instability, sometimes the connections went off and it's not reconnecting in some occasions, however there are cases as well that the tool is not just working probably due to a bug on the update.

It's the ease of connection, Central laid several options for me to choose from. If one option didn't work for some reason Central already got my back by showing me option 2 and 3

**What do you like best about LogMeIn Central?**

When quarantine hit, we sent folks home with laptops or desktops or whatever we had. We set some people up to remote into their workstations from home, and we bought printers from the local store. If you were there, you remember we all did what we could to make it work. We expanded our LogMeIn footprint so our users could work from anywhere and our IT support could help them from anywhere.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

I've been with LogMeIn for many years, and the price has definitely gone way up. Thankfully the features have increased and improved as well.

**Recommendations to others considering LogMeIn Central:**

Good value for the money if you are looking for remote support or a full RMM.

**What problems is LogMeIn Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to get much better visibility into our widely-dispersed workstations. This month we are adding more modules to LogMeIn to realize even more gains in security, reporting, and visibility so we can see issues coming before users are affected.

Ability to use the core function without having to go through rigorous training since the tool is very easy to grasp. The downtime was very low, making it reliable.

During peak times, I faced a bit of slowness and required the tool to be restarted. Not a big deal breaker, considering the support team is highly responsive to issues.

As an IT guy, part of the tool helps me keep track of previous Sessions conducted on the machine. A ton of pre-baked actions make the device more feasible and productive.

The cost-effective solution from Central. Suffice most of the security issues from the customer end but still, it is not compliant with many security policies. Good for SMEs

EDR is not on-par with competing products. XDR is not available. The solution is not compliant with CERT-in policies. There is a huge gap in Threat intelligence regarding features showcased by other enterprise solutions.

Cost Effective nature of the solution is the major challenge of many SMEs in India, which is getting solved by Central.

With the LogMeIn Central product, I am able to centrally, no pun intended, monitor when machines are on, remote control the machines easily and quickly to provide excellent care of the users my organization supports, run intuitive reports to provide information I find valueable and many other tools that would make this far too long.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

If there was a downside - I would say that the on-demand support is not as intuitive for the end-user as some of the other GoTo products are as some of the installers require elevated access which I would not provide to a standard employee or user.

**Recommendations to others considering LogMeIn Central:**

If you are looking for a product that covers all that a medium to enterprise needs for remote access and remote management solutions than LogMeIn Central is a great fit. On top of the mentioned uses there are endless lines of reporting, ability to adjust many settings on machines and do silent installs. Plenty of tools and a great prodcut at any price.

**What problems is LogMeIn Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Generally, I solve all issues for our fully remote staff that are happening on their machines. Often times these are less technical issues but do require a technical set of eyes and instructions that solve the users issues and get them back to working 100% which is the key factor for management teams.

Central works really well for us as we access multiple customers in numerous locations.  Great place to see all my customers at one time and see the status of their equipment.

I have an easily accessible location to see customers and the status of their equipment at a glance.  It makes it an easy location to review the number of clients and track information about them.

**What do you like best about LogMeIn Central?**

What I like best about Central is the ease of use and deployment both remotely and in person.  We only have about 125 devices with a healthy mix between laptops and desktops. Central is an excellent tool that makes it so I can manage all of the PCs remotely.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

The only thing that I dislike about Central is that it doesn't have anything for Android tablets/iPads.  We have Android tablets deployed at our locations in use as time clocks.  We have to use a competitor's product to manage them remotely.  It would be AWESOME to have this all under one roof.

**Recommendations to others considering LogMeIn Central:**

There are a lot of other remote management and remote access tools available.  Central by LogMeIn is a bit pricy; I'll admit especially if you go over 100 users/PCs.  We found that out the hard way.  If you have over 100 users, go nuts and put it on everything, as after that, it comes in bulk pricing.  It is very much worth the yearly cost.  It is extremely easy to use. You can even make a Windows account to use as a remote login called LogMeInRemoteUser, to which there's a guide on their website.

**What problems is LogMeIn Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Central has solved the issue of remote access to both our servers and PCs.  We have multiple locations throughout several states, and Central allows me to help users as if I was right there in person.  We have also switched to using Logmein on our servers.  Central allows us to disable RDP, which is a very insecure program.  We use it to log in securely to all of our end points.  Central has also increased our data security, which is a huge benefit!

There is nothing about Central I don't like. One of my favorite features is support for dual monitors.

This Software is great for organizing multiple computers in multiple locations. You can create groups, making it easier to determine the exact spot where the machine is.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

You cannot have more than one support technician logged into the client machine at the same time, and I realize at times that connection fails to established when handing over the link from one technician to the next.

**What problems is LogMeIn Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use LogMeIn Central to support multiple points of sale terminals in many different locations. I am responsible for the uptime of these machines, and this application helps perfectly with administration. I can transfer files to and from the devices or troubleshoot the various applications on the client computer.

One of the better remote access / unattended access providers.  Of the ones I tested, this one had the fewest issues reconnecting on restart compared to some of the competitors.

The cost compared to the feature sets offered by some of the competition.  The remote connection side is great however the scripting / RMM features seemed less complete given the price point.

I have been using predominately for server unattended access and some for user support access for a portion of my clients.  It shines with the remote access or technicians as well as some end-users

Having a central location for all of your IT tools. I appreciate the One2Many and Remote Execution features. I use One2Many and Remote Execution the most, but all the tools have their use cases.

There could always be more tools, but nothing specific. So far there is no issue with Central, but LogMeIn Pro could use a tune-up. Improvements are always good, but Central is okay as is.

I am solving a large variety of IT-related issues, the main one being remote management, with Central, I have that covered. Yes, by providing me with the tools to maintain my users' PCs, they are able to perform their jobs more efficiently because there is less downtime involved.

**What do you like best about LogMeIn Central?**

It's organized. there is an option for creating groups and placing machines as per locations. Use local admin credentials or domain credentials to login to remote machine.
It had a great way of telling the user that machine is now remotely managed by turning the background black. 
User won't be notified of logmein running in the background because it doesn't have to be minimized.
Transfer the files in background, run cmd or reboot the machine without actually going on the machine.
It provides a great portal to manage machines in organization and see their important features.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

Sometimes sessions couldn't be established because last session was gone under 2 minutes or so. Two helpdesk agents can't login on to a machine at same time. 
You can't remotely login unless someone is signed in, if someone signs out remote session will be disabled.
It should show all monitors in window rather than 2 ,3 windows.

I have used many remote desktop solutions, it's better than teamviewer or anydesk.
More reliable less time consuming. You can install it when in admin mode.

We are providing remote support to a company of around 500 employees. It's installed while doing the windows. It runs in the background while user works.
It is better than other remote support solutions available like screenconnect. You can run cmd commands in background without disturbing the actual user.
It's easy to manage license by a central portal provided by logmein.

The chat system on the tech side is clunky.  Most of the time we end up using notepad to communicate if we are not on the phone or end up typing under the user name.

LogMeIn has been essential in keeping our business running especially during the pandemic.  We needed to add more seats to our current subscription in March 2020 which was seamless and  the customer support was so helpful.  Additionally, any time we have any issues the technical support is very helpful as well.  The program is very easy to use and a great product to work remotely.

I would like if there was a setting that kept you logged in if you walk away for a few minutes.

Logmein Central is a reliable remote support and management platform, it has always worked when I needed it.

The cost of this product is extremely high for what you are getting and there are other products out there that are just as good or better for a fraction of the cost.

The remote access and management tools are reliable and effective and the installation and deployment is fairly easy and straightforward.  They have been slow with adding new features and not keeping up with peers.  This product is way overpriced for what you get.

Logmein has been very helpful with managing a large inventory of devices and servers and providing support to my customers.

**What do you like best about LogMeIn Central?**

We tested a few different products before landing on the Logmein solution. The Logmein solution was a lot easier to install, implement and deploy. Even when having to deploy remotely.  

Training users to use the product was also easier and the availability of mobile device support sealed the deal. Being able to give users access to multiple systems and using the remote viewing capability, helped us help our users through multiple training and process changes.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

Would like to see the beta remote viewer become production, as well as remote control from the viewer.

**Recommendations to others considering LogMeIn Central:**

If you're looking for an easy to use, easy to administer and deploy remote product for your end users, this is the one for you. 

License cost is affordable, especially when compared to some of the other products out there. It integrates well with other Logmein/Remotepc products and has been ultra reliable since fielding. 

In the past we'd have had to deploy laptops with remote vpn software, now we can literally serve up the exact desktop that the user has been using forever and is most familiar to them in minutes. 

This has been a lifesaver and definitely a money saver here at the District.

**What problems is LogMeIn Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote work for users that have never used a remote tool before. We'd not had much experience with teleworkers before Logmein. 

The Logmein solution literally saved our skins when this whole COVID-19 thing happened. We went from 0-10% telework to nearly 100% in a matter of days. Logmein was a key factor in this. Because it was so easy to deploy, we were able to get folks up and running at home in hours vs. days.

The dashboard for each system is invaluable and used by our IT folks as well as supervisors and managers with their respective teams.

it works well and smoothly.  with some remote work solutions, we would get mouse stutter or mouse jitter whenever latency wasn't ideal.  we don't get that here.  there is a bit of mouse lag, maybe half a second, but that is part of any remote connection.  the connectivity is very good.  haven't had outages or a lot of disconnects.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

this is kind of nit-picky, but their solution to working with two monitors can be confusing to end users.  connecting to two monitors at once gives two separate windows on top of one another that must be moved to the respective windows of the client and maximized to get the two monitor remote experience.  it is possible to move the wrong monitor to the wrong window or close one monitor and not the other. I got a few calls about this in the beginning. This is why i gave it a 9 and not a 10.

We got this so people working at a remote office could get access to an application server that runs on site, now we use it as a work-from-home solution during the pandemic.

**What do you like best about LogMeIn Central?**

I love the fact that the client works across OS platforms and is much simpler to use than RDP or other solutions. We use this on mobile devices as well as to manage Mac and PC's in our building. I love that the same client works for both server and workstations. Our primary use of this product is to allow our IT admins to work on machines across our different locations quickly and easily.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

The lag at times is very noticeable. I would love it if you could setup reporting or alerts based on machine metrics. It would be great is the copy and paste integrations were better between the host and the clients.
It would be awesome if Logmein could find a way to integrate with Hyper-V hosts and allow us to remotely directly to machines that are running on a host running the client.

It would be great is there was a way for 2 technicians to share the same remote connection. I could see this being super helpful when training newer staff.

**Recommendations to others considering LogMeIn Central:**

Pricing is great and the product is rock solid! If you need an easy to use and deploy remote connection software I would look at Logmein.

We are solving user and admin access to machines from remote locations. We have employees that need to access machines while working remotely as well as Admins that use this tool to access serves from anywhere.

We found using a vpn every time to manage virtual machines especially in the off times to be tough and the logmein product has allowed us a better and faster way to do remote and after hours work.

Logmein Central has allowed me to have quick and easy access through the desktop client to connect to other machines and check on the status of them without having to remember difficult machine names or IP addresses.

Keeps everything I need in only place and let's me move between systems easily. I can deploy AV, software, manage the systems, and get reporting as needed. Being able to manage windows updates is something any small business with any real IT assets needs to be able to manage and track and I can do it from within the LogMeIn Central console.  This system allowed us to quickly and easily push our users to be able to work from home during the recent Covid-19 pandemic.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

pricing and structure seems to change all the time. Gets really frustrating. They need to pick a model and stick with it. I would really prefer that we pay by the device instead of groups.  Pay only for what you use.

Evaluate all option. LogMeIn Central can be pretty expensive, but it can also be very worth it.  You can get a lot out of it if you are buying the addons as well. The addons can really add up though... they add a ton of features, but you really have to evaluate whether you will use them or not.

Being able to access all the systems easily along with pushing out software and changes.  We use it for training, remote access, tech support and more.  It made like much easier during the stay at home orders as it allowed us to rapidly set our uses to work from home.

As the name implies, it's centralized dashboard provides easy and clear access to all of the features and functions of the system.  Fairly high value as pricing is relatively affordable for what you receive in the end, but only if you can fully utilize the systems features.

**What do you dislike about LogMeIn Central?**

There are a few, very critical pain points of the entire system that have persisted for years.  Primarily, the security and permission settings on the clients require physical access to devices to setup initially.  This is unlike LMI's rivals and competitors for remote access in that this additional setup and configuration is not necessary or able to be completed remotely.  The inability to have multiple users view a single system simultaneously presents issues for collaboration.  As well, patch management as of this writing is still based on Kaspersky, and thus might present security and regulatory issues for organizations.

Make sure your expectations of LMI are met before investing the time and resources to deploy it.

How easy it is to deploy and use. I am able to replace an MSP in days. I can install logmein remotely to all my machines and manage scans remotely as well. I can also group machines by type, department, etc...

That it hasnt fully developed the Mac side of it and cant deploy AV on macs. It also doesnt have easy to use One2Many tasks to deploy updates.

Bring Management of our systems in house instead of to an MSP. We are able to easily manage our environment through one site and have admin controls over all of our machines and the touch of a button. Finally we are able to run live reports of our inventory and different aspects of our environment for review.
