"Good software to transform data in information in real time"
What do you like best about Amper?

1. Simple and Intuitive Interface

Amper’s user interface is clean, easy to use, and well-structured. Both operators and supervisors quickly get familiar with the system without needing complex training.

2. Real-Time Machine Monitoring

The ability to track machine status in real time (running, stopped, setup, etc.) gives us better visibility and faster decision-making on the production floor.

3. Reliable Data Collection

Because Amper pulls data directly from the machines, we avoid manual input errors. This has improved the accuracy of our reports and KPIs.

4. Ticket System for Production Issues

The ticket feature helps us keep track of production or maintenance issues in an organized way. It's easy to follow up on problems, assign them, and close them when resolved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amper?

1. Limitation with Palletized Machines

We currently face some challenges using Amper with palletized machines. Since programs can switch frequently (work with 2 different parts at the same time - Pallet 1 and Palle2), this sometimes causes incorrect part counts. Amper team is already working on solutions for this.

2. Scheduling Assumes Full Machine Availability

The scheduling tool works well, but it assumes that all machines are available all the time. In our reality, this is not true—many machines are idle waiting for work orders. The system does not yet account for this, and as a result, the schedule it generates often does not match our real constraints.

3. No Way to Assign Operators to Work Orders

Right now, there is no option to link a specific operator to a specific work order. This would be very helpful for traceability and to manage workloads more clearly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Insightful Monitoring with Essential Data Visibility"
What do you like best about Amper?

I truly appreciate Amper's ability to provide detailed insights into our machine operations, particularly in understanding downtime and analyzing trends. It empowers me to communicate effectively with both the shop floor team and upper management by providing clear and accurate data on our performance. Moreover, I find it extremely helpful in assessing 'lights out' performance, as it offers me visibility into what occurs during unmanned machine operations. This visibility is crucial for making informed decisions and ensuring that our processes run smoothly even without direct supervision. Having this level of insight is invaluable for optimizing our operations and improving overall efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amper?

The initial setup of Amper was a bit confusing, which made it challenging to get started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Powerful & Customizable Tool"
What do you like best about Amper?

Amper's customization capabilities are beneficial for our operations. For a sawmill operation like ours, managing 30 different machine centers presents a challenge for data tracking. Amper allows me to create specific downtime reason lists for each machine center. This granular control is important for accurate data collection. Furthermore, the custom report option empowers me to generate tailored reports for different stakeholders, from production managers to our CEO who demands high-level strategic overviews. This flexibility improves our ability to communicate performance data effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amper?

The most significant drawback we've encountered with Amper is its limited multilingual support. In our sawmill, over 75% of our workforce speaks Spanish. The absence of an English/Spanish interface for downtime reason selection creates a big obstacle for us. This has lead to some inaccurate data input, and frustration with our employees. The ability to switch between languages is critical for ensuring accurate data collection. This lack of multilingual support is a limitation that Amper will hopefully address in one of their future updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Machine Utilization and Much More"
What do you like best about Amper?

I enjoy using Amper because it can be made as simplistic or as complex as you want. The various tools (utilization tracking, downtime labeling and alerts, call teams, job/work order tracking) can all be setup to meet the unique needs of the business. We utilize the Amper tool for two main purposes: tracking utilization on our constrained assets and using this utilization to justify future capital expenditures. Setup and integration was a relatively smooth process with coordination between our maintenance and IT teams. Amper's customer support is always quick and responsive, and the team is genuinely invested in using the tool to fit our business's needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amper?

There are a lot of tools/features in Amper that we don't utilize. This is mostly due to redundancy within our ERP system. While there is value in these tools, we are not in a position to fully convert our job tracking, part performance, etc. into the Amper system. Because of this, there is a lot of extra features that can make it confusing to users that aren't as familiar with the system. There a lot of tools, and it could lead someone into analysis paralysis rather than using the data and making the required changes on the shop floor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The easiest way to real time machine monitoring"
What do you like best about Amper?

There are many benefits to having Amper installed in your facility.

The real key to what makes Amper a great tool is the outputs.....auto reporting, real-time uptime monitoring, PM tracking, and a lot more are all built into this system that can be hooked up to a machine in minutes. From our experience almost anything we would want from a data perspective can be found in this system......but I would say that the best part of the product is the company themselves. I have yet to come across a problem I couldn't solve or data I wanted in a different format that the Amper team has not been able to help with, or even develop for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amper?

There are not a lot of downsides to this system, but there can be some issues with connectivity here and there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amper provides valuable real time production data"
What do you like best about Amper?

Amper provides better visibility over the shop floor about machines that are running well, and machines that are not. It allows us to be able to react to problems faster and let us get ahead of production issues with the call teams function. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amper?

Collecting cycle times can be hit or miss depending on how you go about gathering them. Automated machines with an output tied directly to Amper is pretty reliable, but on manual machines the cycle time counting is inconsistent and puts extra responsibility on the machine operators. "Low cost of entry - simple to uinstall and use"
What do you like best about Amper?

From the time I contacted them to when I had a free trial unit running was about a week. The system was easy to install and is easy to use for the most part. Service is excellent. Anytime I have an issue I get fast response from my contact. I have a single point of contact I am able to utilize and work with, which is huge. The cost is very competitive and the fact that you do not need to get capital for a large up front expense was a major reason we decided to go with Amper. It has a lot of great reporting features. I can also access it from any computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amper?

We only use the system to monitor uptime and downtime. With the new updates to use it as a scheduling tool, it has become a little more complex than I would like. I do wish they would develop an app to be able to better monitor the shop on a phone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"An Investment in Productivity"
What do you like best about Amper?

Amper has the ability to be as simple or complex as needed depending on the needs of your production facility by providing simple high-level overviews as well as the ability to really focus in on a given work center, department, or process. Whether your shop is struggling with low productivity levels or unable to tangibly measure the positive impact of process changes, Amper is able to help. Service and support are top-notch, and the ability to help shape Amper by working with them to develop new features is of great benefit. Implementation is simple and straightforward, and our team has been able to meld Amper's benefits into their daily habits quit easily. At the end of the day, the raw data provided is invaluable in answering one critical question: Is our production equipment running or not? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amper?

At times there can be a lot of things for supervisors to keep up on, such as ensuring operators are clocked into a job, that it's the right job, target cycle times are accurate, production is recorded accurately and timely, etc. Poor data input can result in inaccurate reports from the system. Sometimes connectivity of the in-machine devices can be problematic, which can also result in negative reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amper is an AWESOME tool"
What do you like best about Amper?

Amper is easy to navigate and learn, as a beginner to Amper, coming from a different manufacturing background, it was a easy transition to catch on and learn the Amper system. I use Amper on a daily basis for over 8 hours at a time and there's plenty of sub screens to get you the exact answer you're looking for. Also Amper's customer service is A+. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amper?

There's really nothing that i dislike about Amper. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
