"Powerful automation and sandbox, but an outdated interface and steep learning curve"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I enjoy the fact we can automate ads to get to people who stopped by to get information on our company. It allows us to target those people and deliver ads to hopefully bring them to the site. The sandbox is also indispensable because the app has a very big learning curve, and it gives us a place to test and play with things without fear of accidentally pushing out stuff to people we don't need to. The AI is most used as a resource within the app for us, and most of the time it will lead us in the right direction when I need guidance around the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

My biggest complaint is the application’s layout. The interface still looks fairly outdated, think something like Windows Active Directory. Even with some updates and changes, it’s still hard to learn how to properly use this software, and if you have a difficult time remembering where certain tabs are located, it can get very confusing. The AI doesn’t help with troubleshooting that well, so I still prefer using the forms as a main troubleshooting resource. Also, it still needed a lot of manual work, and we have a small team so a lot of time isn't devoted. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy signup-to-email automation for my YouTube channel"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I use Marketo to promote my YouTube channel. People sign up through a landing page form and automatically get a welcome email, then updates about new videos, all personalized with their name. Everything runs in one place and I don't have to send anything by hand. The AI subject line suggestions were useful too, and the AI drafts gave me a starting point, though I rewrote most of the text. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

Some of my emails ended up in spam or the promotions tab, and Marketo doesn't give you much help figuring out why. Dynamic content took a lot of setup before it worked properly since the segments have to be defined first, and that part isn't very intuitive. Forms are hard to style, and getting them to match my landing page meant working with CSS, which is more than I expected for a basic signup form. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Marketing Automation, But Complex to Navigate"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I really like how flexible and customizable Adobe Marketo Engage is, especially when it comes to automation. It saves me a lot of time managing multiple campaigns and different audiences. I appreciate that once everything is set up, it simplifies the management process. I also use it alongside Creative Cloud, which helps in integrating my campaign management with our creative and marketing workflows. This integration works well and supports our needs effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

It can be complicated to use at times, especially when setting up more advanced campaigns. The interface could also be a little more intuitive and user-friendly. The interface could be cleaner and easier to navigate. Some features take a while to find, and the setup process can feel a bit complicated. Better guidance and simpler workflows would make it easier to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong access management and integrations, but limited APIs and clunky workflows"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I work with many apps that feed data into Marketo, and I also have a lot of lists to import into people records. Access Management is paramount for me because it lets me compartmentalise users based on the activities they’ll be performing, so the right people have the right level of access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

The amount of API exposure that Marketo provides is limited, and it can sometimes be difficult to extract data from Marketo. I also feel the workflows aren’t the best tools for getting things done efficiently. While it does integrate with different social media platforms, I’d like more control over what data I can filter and pull out. We tried setting up Sandbox for Marketo in our UAT environment, but the whole process was a nightmare. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong for cross-channel campaigns and lead nurturing, but integrations and reporting can lag"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I like that it helps us connect with customers across different channels, improve the website journey, and turn social traffic into actual conversions. It reduced the manual work involved in email, segmentation, follow ups and reengagement campaigns, and made it easier to run these campaigns at scale. It’s also helped us better identify and prioritize high-intent leads through targeted email campaigns, personalized content, and behaviour based journeys, and it makes communication feel less generic by using behaviour and engagement data for personalization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

Integrations can sometimes require technical support, customization takes time, and real time reporting may not always be as flexible or quick as we need for day to day marketing decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong automation and integrations, but limited social and complex workflows"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I like the Data Import & Export Tools, Integration APIs, and partner applications because they make it easier to connect Marketo with other systems and move data between platforms. It helps keep lead and campaign data organized without too much manual work. The automation also helped us manage campaigns across email and other channels more efficiently, reducing repetitive manual work. The AI was helpful for drafting a quick campaign message and suggesting variations as a starting point. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

The social media integrations can be a little limited, and some customization options take time to set up. Workflows can also become complicated when there are many conditions or steps, so a simpler workflow builder would be helpful. With AI-generated content, I still have to review and adjust the wording before using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong for lead nurturing and personalized deliverability, but some features aren’t used"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I like that it supports a lead-nurturing workflow that moves prospects through the awareness, consideration, and decision stages, and can automatically adapt campaigns based on customer actions and changes in data. Its biggest strength, in my view, isn’t just sending emails, but delivering highly personalized deliverability. I also found the AI summarisation useful: it quickly generated a structured summary of project updates, risks, and achievements from multiple documents and suggested key themes to highlight. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

Dynamic content, A/B testing, and CRM aren’t really part of how I use it. The AI outputs aren’t always perfect, so I still need to review and correct when needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Rock-Solid Automated Workflows You Can Trust"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

The compounding efficiency of using global Program Tokens alongside hyper-specific Smart Lists. It allows our operations team to build an intricate, multi-layered campaign architecture just once, tokenize the variables, and clone it across different regions or product lines in minutes without breaking the underlying behavioral triggers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

The native landing page and form builders require too much custom HTML coding to look modern, which completely kills our agility. Because the folder structure and logic are so unforgiving, even a simple campaign tweak requires a certified specialist, making it impossible for casual users on our team to move fast. "Strong for personalization, outbound follow-up, and automated responses"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I value how personalizing emails builds trust. Generic messages get ignored, especially with enterprise buyers who notice when something feels templated versus tailored to their actual situation. Sending outbound emails helps keep deals moving in long, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles, where proactive follow-up and nudges maintain momentum. Automated responses add scale and consistency by handling routine acknowledgments and status updates so attention can go toward higher-stakes communications that require judgment and nuance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

A/B testing takes time and volume to get statistically meaningful results, so with smaller lists or lower-frequency sends tests often do not reach significance and decisions end up based on gut feeling. It also takes discipline to test one variable at a time, and results can be misleading if external factors skew the data during the test window. Mobile optimization multiplies the design and testing burden because emails, landing pages, and forms need to work across many screen sizes and email clients that render HTML/CSS inconsistently, and catching issues often requires manual checking. Lead database management is tedious and never-ending because data decays fast, and duplicates, inconsistent formatting, and incomplete fields make targeting and personalization harder than it should be. "Strong for data management and campaign customization, but APIs and sandbox take work"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I like that it helps us manage customer data efficiently, connect with other marketing tools, and customize campaigns based on our business needs. It saves time and makes campaign management much easier. It also made campaign setup and customer segmentation easier, and the AI helped us analyze campaign performance and identify useful patterns in customer engagement (we still reviewed the results before making decision). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

The API integration can take time to set up, and the sandbox environment is not always easy to use. Internationalization also requires some manual work when managing campaigns across different markets. Some reporting and coordination still required manual work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
