We use it daily, and it plays an extremely important role in ensuring cybersecurity. I can recommend it to any organization. Thanks to the free tier, Admin By Request makes it easy to start small-scale testing and deployment, and to identify the areas you need to focus on to ensure a smooth rollout. A single solution that achieves nearly identical UX on Windows and macOS (we haven't tested Linux yet) is very helpful. This reduces the need for user training and awareness, reduces the workload for administrators, and decreases inquiries to the IT department, which is appreciated. For teams managing fully remote devices, the peace of mind gained from experiencing "It Just Works" is immeasurable. As long as the device can connect to the Internet, Admin By Request supports all necessary operations. The logging is amazing! Finally, a solution that understands the importance of logging has arrived!! The flexibility of deployment options makes it possible for any organization to restrict admin privileges!! Whether you take a laissez-faire approach where "users can perform operations at any time, but those operations are logged," or a strict approach where "all admin operations are reviewed and approved/denied," or something in between, Admin By Request can accommodate. We hardly ever need to contact Customer Support, the documentation is comprehensive, and the deployment process is straightforward. Integrating Admin By Request with our Microsoft 365/Entra ID tenant is easy, and it supports both SSO and group-based management. The absence of an "SSO Tax" is truly appreciated! **What do you dislike about Admin By Request?** The auto-deletion of long-inactive devices in the Inventory is both a blessing and a curse. I wish it could be changed in the admin settings. If a user takes an extended leave or uses a different device for a few months, I would like to be able to see that unused device in the Inventory even after 90 days. I wish the user-facing request UI could be more customizable. Of course, "Simple is best," but users are often required to provide more accurate and detailed descriptions when explaining the justification for their request. **What problems is Admin By Request solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problem of easy-to-manage PAM that doesn't break the bank is a difficult one. Many companies don't even try because they think it's either too difficult or too expensive. Jeff and Luke at Fast Track are accessible and willing to listen to feedback and ideas for further inproving the product. In short, a fantastic solution for adressing the contentious issue of removing local administrator priveleges. **What do you dislike about Admin By Request?** From my experiences with Admin By Request, there isn't a downside to using this product but, as a user of the product since 2020, to be implementing Admin By Request today would be so much easier as the product has evolved at pace since 2020 and become so feature rich. **What problems is Admin By Request solving and how is that benefiting you?** As lockdown hit in early 2020, we had 650 users with local admin rights. We were looking for a product that would help us remove local admin rights but still enable our user base to work effectively, most essential when everyone was suddenly working remotely. A small pilot group of 30 users soon grew to encompass all 650 existing local administrators, to give us full visibility and auditing of all activities carried out as a local admin, along with a robust approval process. The initial rollout was so successful, we continued on to roll out the product to all 4500 of our staff devices which includes both Windows and Mac and soon to be Linux devices. The product is intuitive, flexible and highly configurable and has been a great success within my organisation. ### 3. With AbR you barely have to whitelist anything, even better, most of the time installations and executions run immediately in the right user context and therefore generate a work flow, which we haven't seen before. This was the status quo, and had been since the days of Windows NT. However, we realised this needed to change as part of our campaign to increase our security posture and Privilege Management is now delivered by AdminByReuqest. The bigest surprise was just how quickly we were able to configure the system and deploy to endpoints. The simplicity of the solution meant that our staff adapted to the change quickly without any major hiccups. ### 7. Any approach to a solution involved a lot of effort and confrontation. With AdminbyRequest it was really possible to turn off global on the fly. Integration and RollOut was not noticable for the User. The approval process also gives us much more insight into the desired and undesired software. For us the best, most uncomplicated solution on the market. Real improvements and new features are constantly being added. But ABR is providing an autoupdate function as well. Since we have ABR we have the overview how often admin priveliges are requested and approved / used. If all Companies had such amazing Support Team the IT Landscape would look better with less issues. Also, we have a strong relation to our Sales Account Executive. **What do you dislike about Admin By Request?** Only concern is the way how the SCIM provisioning is done. Permissions are granted in ABR when the first match happens. If you have a large environment that can be tricky to configure backup matrix. In our case, it flowlessly integrated a feed of requests for Admin rights usage into our chat solution, helping a distributed but small team handle 24/7 request stream from across the globe with minimal lag. Second, it lets us pre-approve items nearly on the fly, building a 'library' of exemptions where human admin approval isn't necessary, which cuts down on team effort. All the while, number of users that used to have Local Admin, either on own or on dedicated accounts has gone down significantly, tightening our security. Additionally, ABR builds a use trail, creating records, increasing accountability and our Team's ability to backtrack events, find out issues/causes, and improve our practices. **What do you dislike about Admin By Request?** Admin by Request (ABR) has been around long enough to be fairly polished, but don't count on super fast deployment and plan for a learning curve that will take time, despite wealth of help, templates and documentation available. Users deprived of Local Admin will whine, there will be a deluge of requests for more or less legitimate rights grants, and adding many items that are not suspicious and can be pre-authorized will take time. You will undoubtedly discover many surprises about what your flock is running, too. Depending on how structured your Team is and what your environment is, your "mileage" may vary. In our case, with Team spread across 3 continents, it was half-year before we were roughly done, but in hindsight, the effort was more than worth it. **What problems is Admin By Request solving and how is that benefiting you?** Denying Local Admin rights to everyone, or granting them to anyone who wants them are both extremes of the spectrum, one too restrictive and the other too unsafe. Admin by Request (ABR) lets you build track record and grant Admin to your users in real time, case by case, using both pre-approvals with automation, and human-reviewed rights grants, that can be task-specific and temporary. The tightening of security this offers without gimping your users' ability to perform can't be overstated. ### 13.
