## Adaxes Reviews
  ### 1. Streamlined Onboarding and Offboarding with Powerful Workflow Automation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Faaris A. | Network Security Engineer, Biotechnology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Adaxes?**

It automates many aspects of our workflows, especially user onboarding and offboarding in particular.

**What do you dislike about Adaxes?**

Some of the enhanced pieces did require me to reach out to support, since many items aren’t documented, even though there’s a very nice knowledge base, script repository, and questions/answers sections.

**What problems is Adaxes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’re standardizing our user onboarding and offboarding processes. Previously, this was handled manually, and we often found that users still belonged to various groups, their passwords remained unchanged, and their mailboxes sometimes stayed as user mailboxes, which costs $$$, unlike when they’re converted to a shared mailbox.

  ### 2. Amazing tool to manage and administer your organization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Derrick W. | IT Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Adaxes?**

I like its advanced analytics and automation features. All reports make it easy to see how things are going. I like the ease of use to perform administrative tasks, it offers several functions to manage.

**What do you dislike about Adaxes?**

I would like items to have their own menus. The interface requires some additional navigation to execute. The information to enter at each step of the workflow is not very useful.

**What problems is Adaxes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have drastically reduced the number of administrators. It offers useful tools that we can incorporate into our environments. It is an excellent tool to delegate administration.

  ### 3. Best AD Management & Automation Around

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Davidalen F. | IT System Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Adaxes?**

Over the past 6 years, I have been manually building automation via PowerShell and schedule tasks from within a windows server, built an employee management system that utilized PHP-LDAP to perform authentication and authorization. It also provided insight into our users within AD and stored information that belonged with the employee but didn't have a place in the active directory. There were many moving parts constantly changing and hard to manage for a large user base. Constantly adding new features to fit the need of our ever-changing environment proved to be difficult. In comes Adaxes. Within a short time, I was able to eliminate the need for 3rd party management systems. It started off with User Management from a simple to use customized web interface and grew to include custom web interfaces and automation behind creating new users with approval from IT Management. What I love most about Adaxes is the ability to set such finite permissions for different users without delegating control to any users within AD.

Utilizing business rules before user creation to halt the new user creation until IT reviews the request and verifies that their confidentiality agreement has been completed and an after user creation setting Security and Distribution groups, managers, Extensions, and various other properties needed to fully provision new users.

Custom commands used by our IT staff to enter information into a specific user's profile and then run logic behind that like email the user of the new accounts and/or their managers when their Key FOBs and LOB app access has been added.

We have granted the users managers to manage their specific groups and gave them the ability to unlock and reset subordinate passwords as needed.

Utilizing the custom Date fields in Adaxes we were able to implement training logs with historical data to verify when users have completed their training. This is also automated with the recent addition to the Rest API.

There are many more features I like about Adaxes however this sums up our day-to-day use of the application.

**What do you dislike about Adaxes?**

I have not found a bulk way to edit users' properties in Adaxes. For example, selecting all users of a specific department and then updating their managers. This can be done via scripts and custom commands however there isn't a clean way to do this from the web console by default. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the way to edit the user's Logon Hours clicking one at a time to toggle a specific time slot. (You can click the time or day and that will select or deselect all in the row/column).

**What problems is Adaxes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem Adaxes solved was allowing managers, human resources, and help desk personnel to manage specific zones within the active directory without giving them any delegated permissions within AD Users and Computers. The biggest benefit has been the time-saving automation of business rules, custom commands, and scheduled tasks.

The biggest one being Status Updates for employees. Our HR department can utilize a custom command to update an employee's status for things like promotion or job change, resignation, termination, and/or extended leave. By simply making selections on the form they submit the request to IT to approve on the effective date and then the logic behind the command allows for the job to be handled without any further interaction from staff.

  ### 4. Easy for Users, Powerful, Moderate Learning Curve for Admins

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Adaxes?**

Very easy for end users and non-technical staff to use. It's web based and works on mobile. Replaced all of our PowerShell scripts and allowed us to easily delegate user management tasks to other departments like HR without granting them too many permissions. Have yet to find something that it can't do. Had built in functionality for 90% of what we wanted to do and the rest we could do with PowerShell scripts inside Adaxes. Their support team even wrote us a PowerShell script when we asked about a function that wasn't built in.

**What do you dislike about Adaxes?**

There is a moderate learning curve to figure out when to use Adaxes Business Rules, Property Patterns, or Custom Commands. I was able to figure almost all of them out by doing a search for How to do X in Adaxes and their QA website would come up with the answer. For the rest I contacted support and they explained how to do it. In one case they wrote us a PowerShell script to use which impressed me.

**What problems is Adaxes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Delegation in Active Directory is confusing, and it's easy to give someone too much power. Installing Remote Server Administration Tools for users is annoying, not to mention the relationship between local AD and Office 365. Adaxes allowed us to easily delegate task with an easy user interface and easy permissions.
Automation and standardization are useful to. Having Adaxes as the easier way to do a task means IT staff use it rather than manually doing something else. From there Business rules can make sure the job gets done the same way every time.

  ### 5. Great interface for AD and for automation of AD.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles N. | EUT Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Adaxes?**

Adaxes has many options for automating repetitive tasks. It also creates a simple user interface for novice users to use for management of users and groups.

**What do you dislike about Adaxes?**

I really can't think of anything I dislike, there are a few things that are minor inconveniences but nothing crazy.

**Recommendations to others considering Adaxes:**

To get the most out of it, you need to automate other tasks with other software like Ayehu Eyeshare.

**What problems is Adaxes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Adaxes allows us to let users reset their password via the self service app on the end user machine so that they can reset their password and sync it to the computer without needing a VPN connection to the internal network.
