**What do you like best about Act!?**

I consider ACT! By Swiftpage a solution partner that has helped me build my business.   I couldn't have done it without a strong CRM.  I've tried others over the years like Goldmine (in the old days), Microsoft CRM (a disaster for me) and most recently Monday.com.  I always go back to my basics in ACT and get the job done.  Updates have always been meaningful, especially incorporating its social media and marketing platform.  Most helpful is its tech support.  Reps answer questions thoroughly and are knowledge of ACT for both on-line and desktop applications.

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

Training new reps and getting them to use ACT properly has always been an issue;

Maintaining a detailed database that helps build client relationships.

**What do you like best about Act!?**

The title say it all. I can customize my layout to no end. When I do have an issue and get to customer service, they are always pleasant and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

There are some functions I cannot do from a remote database, and some I cannot do from the web verson.

**What problems is Act! solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I store a lot of information about our customer base. The sorting (look-up) functions are really helpful.

**What do you like best about Act!?**

It does a good job of documenting customer interactions, archiving emails, and most of the other basic CRM tasks which you would expect from a product like this.

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

For some advanced tasks, we have had to resort to 3rd party tools for functionality.  Remote offline users have to use a synch database which can be kind of cumbersome.  Contacts are driven by companies, so you may need to change your group hierarchy if you are moving from a different system.  Security inside of a company is non-exisitent unless you create a different DB or use a 3rd party add on.

**What problems is Act! solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use our CRM to document our sales interactions with a customer.  That includes quoting, product development, sales, and product support.  The core product works very well but there may be some areas where it can improve to become more than just a standard CRM.

**What do you like best about Act!?**

The contact management features are robust and enable me to keep track of customer information and interactions with my business.
The sales automation and marketing automation tools allow me to automate tasks and create targeted campaigns, which has saved me time and increased my efficiency.
The mobile app is a useful tool that enables me to access customer data and manage sales processes on the go.
The platform is affordable compared to other CRM solutions on the market, which has helped me to save costs.

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

I have experienced occasional issues with the platform's reliability, which can be frustrating.
While the customer support team is generally helpful, I have encountered some delays in getting my issues resolved.
Some features, such as the reporting and analytics tools, could be more advanced and provide greater insights into my business data.

**What problems is Act! solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Act! is solving the problem of keeping track of my cold calls and follow-up activities. With Act!, I can easily input and manage my customer data, including who I have contacted and when, and who I need to follow up with. This has helped me to stay organized and ensure that I don't miss any important follow-up opportunities.

In addition, Act! also enables me to identify who not to call again, which has saved me time and prevented me from wasting resources on unproductive leads. By keeping track of my interactions with customers, Act! has provided me with valuable insights into my sales pipeline and helped me to identify areas for improvement.

Overall, Act! has been a beneficial tool for my sales process by improving my cold calling efforts and helping me to stay on top of my follow-up activities.

**What do you like best about Act!?**

It is a standard sql database that makes tables and fields easy to create and change.  ACT also has add-on apps that allow for improved reporting and dashboard creation.  Because of the dashboard creation app, our organization was able to move from a paper environment to a paperless one.

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

Often, the database seems to become corrupt and the server (separate from regular server) needs to be restarted.  Both are rep and ACT support has been unable to resolve the issue.  I will add that the marketing piece was expensive and did not work for us.

**What problems is Act! solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned previously, the 3rd party apps have provided the tools needed to create dashboards across the organization and enabled us to make the transition from a paper environment to a paperless one.

**What do you like best about Act!?**

Ease of Use, Simple, Better Than Excellent Technical Support. The feeling of confidence when I use the app.
I am accustomed to appearance and responses to keyboard inputs.
Tech support is excellent, but unavailable after working hours or on weekends.
I like AMA, Act Marketing Automation.
However, the learning curve is steep.
I am still looking for a replacement app that is easier to use.
But I have not yet found one that does give me the confidence I feel with ACT!
So I am abandoning trials of two more highly rated CRM/marketing automation apps today.
I am expecting a consultation with a G2 advisor later today, and I may try more apps that may be recommended.
But I am put off by the misleading introductions to the trial apps that make me feel less trusting of them.
When they talk about customization I get the idea that the app is more of a do it yourself opportunity to have to learn way more than I care to and knowledge that they should already have to offer the product.

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

No Dislikes Presently. But would technical help 24 hours.
When I call for reasons other than tech support sometimes no one answers.
Expand the bid functionality.
As I recall, the bids could be best prepared by a template for the opportunities.
Make it possible to prepare bids from the opportunity
ACT! training videos are pretty good, but they could be excellent with more effort.
The trainer is excellent, but I want more of all.
ACT! should give him a new contract to prepare and publish more training videos.

**Recommendations to others considering Act!:**

I am accustomed to the ACT interface and I find others to be less comfortable.

Tracking email campaigns. contact details, using groups effectively. Staying on top of day to day activities as well as longer range goals.

**What do you like best about Act!?**

I love using Act because it is simple and you can access all types of information from your database.  I have been using Act for over 20 years.  Act has so many features.

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

The only one is simple instructions to set up a layout.

Act helps me identify my clients interest rates and dates they closed escrow.  This helps me zero in on clients who could benefit a lower monthly mortgage payment.

**What do you like best about Act!?**

At one time, I would have said that despite its flaws, it was an affordable option. In the past, tech support was included in a subscription, but that is no more.

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

The every increasing yearly subscription model is a big change for legacy Act! users. The yearly subscription costs more than Microsoft 365, and is leading me to explore other options.

**What problems is Act! solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I originally purchased Act! as an affordable database management tool for my freelance business. It worked then, even with some flaws, including the difficulty of finding duplicates, since it was a a contact management system aligned with cost structure that made sense for a freelance business model. A disciplined approach to list management could reduce the occurrence of duplicates. Unfortunately, switching to a yearly subscription model has resulted in a significant increase in pricing and is more so than I even pay for the MS Office Suite.

- The platform/database is easy to use
- It stores all of our notes and details that are shared by all team members
- The calendar feature is easy to use and helps us stay organized

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

- We experience a few glitches where the system can be slow at times
-  The spacing of our notes section changes anytime we add to an existing note. We have to edit the notes so they aren't all clustered together. 
- If you copy/paste, the format can also look off

It helps us store all of our client information and keeps the team organized. We use the notes section to update status of a file/communication and next steps for our clients/projects.

ACT! was very easy to use, and the integration with the mass email software was seamless.

Mass updates were time consuming and sometimes confusing. Ofter times, I would need to call ACT! support for help.

Great contact manager and amazingly powerful capability.  So many powerful options to use!

Occasional "glitch" with email attachments to contact records.

Contact management and opportunity follow up is a breeze with this product.    Muttiple contact schedules can be set and modified with a click of the mouse.

**What do you like best about Act!?**

I like being able to manipulate searches by database category. Creating groups is easy.

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

The formats for printing lists from the groups is particularly frightful and hard to manipulate for the right size page and font. Card-size printouts are not helpful. It is too easy to create blank contacts, although it is easy to get rid of them. The comments area of each page should be bigger to hold more notes. Merging duplicate contacts can also lead to errors in overwrites. The system should warn you if you are creating a duplicate contact and ask if you really want to do that.

Keeps detailed information on specific project groups, provided a group is set up at the beginning of a project.

**What do you like best about Act!?**

ACT provides some of the most straightforward tools when it relates to CRM.
I have no trouble making new contacts, setting appointments, and calling my clients.
This tool is beneficial if you have an extensive network of contacts.
I currently have over 2500 contacts, and because of ACT's alarm feature, which alerts me to important meetings or phone calls, I never forget to call or email anyone.
Additionally, I can program an email to be sent on particular anniversaries or when the patient's AMC is going to renew.

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

Starting in 2020, ACT has transferred all of its products to the cloud, even for the CRM is no longer accessible offline.
This represents a worry for a business that takes data safety extremely seriously.
We are still utilizing the early draft of offline CRM since we don't want company knowledge to be kept in another nation.


An internet solution ought to be less expensive, yet the price has drastically increased in the case of ACT.
It undoubtedly provides portability, but not at the expense of information security.

**What problems is Act! solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The program well maintains your customer experience knowledge.
However, if you change computers, you must purchase their new application.
This business does everything in its power to mistreat its clients.

Good for basic contact management... tracking, updating, and recalling contacts and companies. Normal CRM-type needs are well met.

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

The cloud version that I use is sooooooo quirky and features randomly stop functioning for no apparent reason. I call your support team multiple times monthly and often multiple times weekly, mostly about quirky oddities.

Basic CRM is the real benefit to using Act! It's also relatively inexpensive, which is helpful for a small nonprofit managing under 1500 records.

It's rather easy to customize most things. I like that I can add categories on the fly.

The customer service and tech support is not easy to work with at all - to put it mildly. Running reports is not intuitive. The program needs to be more user friendly.

Keeps a list of my clients with room to include detailed notes. I would have liked to have the option to customize some of the headings. We also use it to create a to-do list.

I love the simplicity of Act, and the fact I can customize most anything.  It's easy to use, and it's a clean interface. The support team is AMAZING!!

Downside, is sometimes i need to purchase outside add-on's to get the result that make me more efficient.
Some elements I can not customize, and it adds a bit of work.
The marketing automation part has never worked on my system, and we've not uncovered a solution.

**What do you like best about Act!?**

I can add companies, groups and contacts, and the marketing software is decent. The program is not easy to use- as some of the features are not self-explanatory so expect to have to hire a consultant or have an IT guy you can refer to for situations when you have no clue how to use a certain feature.

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

We work in finance and if we do another loan with a customer they have to be entered in as a second entry instead of having them on the same file- this makes it difficult to differentiate between a duplicate entry and an actual file. Also, there is no way to remove duplicate entries so you have to go in and manually delete each one or pay for an additional program to handle this- when you add that charge to the cost of ACT, and the cost of having a consultant- the main selling point of ACT which is the cost has now gone down quite a bit- which is why I have given it 6 out of ten. The cost is still better than the top-notch CRM like salesforce and Pipedrive but sometimes cheaper just isn't better- especially with the lack of features and ability to connect it to other popular programs like zoom info which you would have with the better CRM software.

**What problems is Act! solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of our prospects, deals and customers in at least some kind of order- we have been using ACT for years which is the only reason we have stayed with it- well that and the cost differential compared to Salesforce and PipeDrive. However, if I were to compare ACT to either of those the difference is immense I would give ACT a 2 and SalesForce and PipeDrive a 10.

THE COST. Required annual renewals were unnecessary for the first 10 years we used ACT, but then greedy SAGE arrived. Our expenses rose, but not the way we use ACT.

Anytime you have a problem the answer is ALWAYS to pay for the new version.  The newer versions are emailed to you, they will NOT provide any physical form of the program.  Thus when buying a new computer you MUST buy their newest version of the program even if you don't need it!  Otherwise, all your information will be lost because they will not let you have a copy of the program you paid for.  NEVER EVER USE the products from these thieves!!

ACT has some of the very straightforward tools when it comes to CRM. I can easily create a new contact, schedule meetings, calls with my clients. This tool is especially useful when you have lots of contacts. Right now I have about 2500+ contacts and I don't miss calling or emailing any of them due to the alarm feature of ACT, I get alarms for high priority meetings or calls. I can also automate email on various occasions or when a customer's AMC is about to expire.

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

ACT is not available on-premises anymore, although the cloud service is good now but no option for installed application anymore. While working on the same contact, it becomes a little-bit laggy.

I have primarily solved the issue of contacting clients on time, and automating emails on their birthdays, sales call, service renewal. Work has become much easier since we started using ACT.

It works, straight out of the box, and requires minimal configuration and no programming experience. It's also quite fast! No additional expenses for consultants are needed.

At the time we used it, there was no cloud option and no app. We used VPN and Terminal Services to give our distributed workforce access. This presented problems for those thousands of miles away.

We used it as our CRM database, where we logged phone, email, and mailings contact with each customer. It allowed everyone, from sales to technical, to see the history of the customer before contacting them.

Our company has been using ACT CRM since 2005 and we have not shifted to any other CRM. The ease with which we can add customer updates and schedule tasks, meetings and calls is amazing. As the time passed ACT has improved a lot and many new and important features have been added. In our company we still use the offline version of ACT! CRM. All the users access it through the local network which help with the data security as well.

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

Since 2020, ACT moved all it's tools to cloud based service and even the CRM isn't available offline. For a company which takes data security very seriously, this is a concern. We don't want our data to be stored in a different country and due to this reason we are still using the older version of offline CRM.
One would think that a cloud based tool would cost less, but in ACT's case it has increased significantly. Obviously it gives a portability access but not at the cost of data security.

ACT is our primary work tool which is used daily. we use it to schedule our daily tasks, calls, meetings and set sales opportunities. It surely speeds up our customer interaction and keeps on track. It also sends automated emails to customers on various occasions or when we organise some events. It has made our CRM task extremely easy.

Sometimes gets buggy - Support is paid for, which is not a big deal, but sometimes hard to understand support rep - cultural barriers.  Have had good and poor experiences.

Handling media relations for multiple clients - doing mail merges to issue press releases - Grouping media so I can do personal campaigns.

**What do you like best about Act!?**

ACT! was easy to input and sort customers. I liked how you could customize the database.

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

The price.  There are other CRM platforms cheaper and even free (Hubspot) that are better.

**Recommendations to others considering Act!:**

I would recommend using Hubspot.  It was backed by Salesforce and is free to use as long as you don't send out more than 2,000 marketing emails a month.

**What problems is Act! solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's good for all your employees to store all their customers in one database, which saves time whenever someone else is looking for a contact they are not always interacting with.

**What do you like best about Act!?**

Act! allows you to connect to contact details and edits and track interactions and relationships, including opportunities and status, among others. It allows your sales teams to classify customers so they can deliver personalized email campaigns with targeted content and messages. You can keep track of events and schedules with a shared calendar built into the software.

**What do you dislike about Act!?**

Things would be twice as reliable if you were running your own email or word processor, instead of the passing Microsoft Outlook. Act! previously had things with more integration. It would have been nice if this had been taken into account. It seems that Microsoft has stopped playing nice.

**What problems is Act! solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Act! is a darn good software. Many of its features are simply fantastic! First of all, I can almost manage my database with the software itself. The remote database synchronization is simply great!
