Revenue AI platforms use AI agents to execute key sales-related activities that accelerate productivity for revenue outcomes. The AI agents make decisions or recommend next steps based on revenue intelligence and customer interaction insights pulled from customer relationship management (CRM) software or other data sources such as communication, meeting tools, or public data.

These task-specific AI agents turn these insights into action to help sales representatives handle tedious or routine tasks, and orchestrate workflows across revenue operations, sales, marketing, and customer success teams. Revenue AI platforms enable revenue operations (RevOps) and go-to-market (GTM) teams to enhance forecasting, pipeline management, coaching, and customer engagement. They achieve this by proactively prompting the right actions within organizational workflows, resulting in greater efficiency, consistency, and speed.

Revenue AI platforms use AI agents that function as delegates to proactively handle well-defined or purpose-built tasks, typically within configured guardrails, by taking action such as sending emails, summarizing conversations, booking meetings, conducting research, and keeping CRM information updated. This differs from AI sales assistants, which are tools that primarily serve as copilots. Unlike revenue AI platforms, AI sales assistant tools are typically reactive and respond to a sales rep’s requests using AI, such as summarizing calls, drafting follow-ups, recommending messaging, and suggesting CRM updates, with these tasks usually relying on human input before anything is approved or sent.

Provide all the features of a revenue operations & intelligence (RO&I) solution Offer built-in AI agents that can be configured or embedded into revenue workflows to perform tasks or recommend next steps Allow for human-in-loop capabilities to ensure accuracy and viability of an AI agent Be able to access and analyze customer interaction data connected from various channels and integrations such as CRM, communication tools, or other data sources Leverage AI-powered insights and ML or LLMs to detect patterns or recommendations from revenue interactions to improve forecasting, predictability, pipeline management, and contextual relevance for making decisions
