Backblaze Computer Backup uses native Mac and Windows clients rather than a cross-platform framework. This includes support for Mac-specific data like Photos libraries and Mail, Contacts, and Calendar files stored in the user library, along with Mac file-naming conventions that some cross-platform clients handle poorly. The native client also runs with a lighter resource footprint than Java-based alternatives, and it throttles automatically so backup doesn't compete with active work on the device.
