What do you like best about SimpleBackups?

The fact that it lives up to its name "Simple". I qualify myself as an excellent developer, but that doesn't make me a good system manager. This is a talent I need to outsource. My cloud provider is my day-to-day "talent", and SimpleBackups" are my backup "talent". They're the specialists, they do one thing, but do it well, very well indeed. What do you dislike about SimpleBackups?

What problems is SimpleBackups solving and how is that benefiting you?

I create and manage software for Getty Images, the nr1 stock agency of the world. My product used to be a local PC/Mac app, but 2 years ago I changed it to a web app running in the cloud. My cloud provider makes database backups on daily basis, but at some level this is still a single-point-of-failure, since only 1 party is involved. The contents of the database is everything, if I lose it or have to go back to a month old backup, it's the end of my business. I tried a few available options, with varying success, and then found out about SimpleBackups.

A few clicks later I had a recurring backup all setup, with database backups stored at a different cloud provider, located at the other side of the world. A remote backup, for sure. Fortunately, I have not had the need to actually restore a backup, but have carefully studied the procedure at SimpleBackups, and know I can do this quite easily if/when the need arises.

Very happy with this service. It's one of those things, like insurances ... not fun paying for them and if all goes well, it almost seems like unnecessary, but if you ever need them ... you'll need them badly.

To me, SimpleBackups equals peace of mind. So yes, very happy with my choice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
