It was easy to add the additional server to my account and there was a minimal learning curve. **What do you dislike about OpenText Server Backup?** I do not see a downside to using the Carbonite server. During a disaster recovery testing period, the backup replication job does not have to be stopped while the restored data is current from the last backup (can be same day) and **What do you dislike about OpenText Server Backup?** The dislikes of the Carbonite server are the lack of reporting functions and the lack of a user-friendly view of the replication job configuration. Recovery is multistreaming; jobs can run parallel but bottleneck the network if network speed configuration is not considered. Retrieval of files is easy and fast. I get daily updates about my backs so monitoring them is as easy as quickly viewing an email. **What do you dislike about OpenText Server Backup?** I'll be picky first in that I wish the file retrieval window was able to be resized. There is a scroll bar, but if you have many nested folders with long names, it is annoying to move the scroller multiple times just to find one file. Also, we had an issue where someone at our company left, for invoicing, the other admins on the account were not contacted and once our account fell into a delinquent state (net 30), all of our data was immediately removed and deleted. This caused a huge headache and a lot of time to get everything set back up and re-seeded. This could have easily been avoided if all the other contacts were actually contacted and if our data would not have been immediately destroyed and deleted. We were only a few days outside of the renewal window when all of this we discovered. It was such a headache, we almost decided to go with another company since after we paid, we were then treated as a completely new client even though we had been using Carbonite for a few years. **What problems is OpenText Server Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** Carbonite is currently helping with data redundancy and disaster recovery by helping to keep a cloud backup of all of our important data and files. Status updates in mail are good, but sometimes cryptic and require a look in the interface for the details. Restores work great, even across platforms. You can restore ESXi VM's on HyperV and vice versa. **What do you dislike about OpenText Server Backup?** The interface does stay the way you left it. so you have to do the sorting each time you login. It is latest iteration from the original Evault product line that was acquired by OpenText. It is lower cost compared to other offerings such as CommVault, Cohesity, Rubrik or Veeam. However it doesn't have all of the same features that those products do, but it delivers well on what it does. It is solid product which delivers reliable, compressed backups. **What do you dislike about OpenText Server Backup?** Doesn't have all of the advanced features that it's competitors have in their products. As well, they are lagging behind in terms of cloud backup features. It is a good on-premise solution, but there are better options for the cloud. **Recommendations to others considering OpenText Server Backup:** Evaluate all solutions, if you are budget constrained, Carbonite Server is a good choice. **What problems is OpenText Server Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are solving the problems of reliable backups of our VMs on-premise. Be mindful that there are some limitations of Teams backups, such as chat that these types of systems just can't do.
