One of the latest releases I used, was talking to me and had a lot of built-in animations. I did not find a way to disable either of these features.

When the main memory fills out due to memory leakage in some programs etc, the ubuntu freezes along with the mouse and keyboard. The only solution I have found is to try combination REISUB which safe reboots but all the unsaved work is lost. Is there any option to try in such a scenario?
