  ### 1. Great for staying in the loop and networking

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Callum B. | Marketing Executive, Hospitality, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2025

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

LinkedIn Groups helps me stay connected with people I already know while also expanding my professional network. Right now I’m part of a school alumni group, a music professionals group, a sound engineering group, and a marketing group, all of which are very relevant to my studies and my current role in Marketing.

It’s been especially useful for keeping up with industry news and staying in the loop. The music group in particular has helped me make a few connections in the industry, which has been a huge plus.

I very recently joined the Marketing group, so I'm looking forward to making new connections and staying up-to-date with the latest Marketing trends.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

At times, people can post content that doesn't feel entirely relevant to the group - though, overall the groups I'm in keep me up-to-date on all my topics of interest.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LinkedIn Groups has helped me stay connected with alumni and keep up with the latest trends and news in audio and marketing. These groups make professional networking easier by connecting me with people who share my background and interests, so it feels more natural to start conversations and stay engaged.

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

I really appreciate the community and networking aspect of LinkedIn Groups, as it allows me to connect with people who share my interests. It also facilitates direct connections with colleagues, industry peers, and mentors, which is invaluable for professional growth. I find it beneficial to centralise learning, discussion, and networking within this platform. I value the ability to share content, post, read, and comment on others' posts, making my insights visible to a wider audience. This functionality extends to sharing messages from my organisation and learning about other organisations, keeping me informed about industry activities.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

I find the group engagement and quality lacking. sometimes there's content overload and noise within the groups. Additionally, there are some limits to messaging which can be restrictive, especially when I'm working on a big piece of work. The feed filters could also be improved to enhance my experience.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use LinkedIn Groups to overcome professional isolation, find growth opportunities, and connect with professionals for centralised learning and career growth. and share messaging

**Reviewed by:** Filipe L. | Senior Content Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2025

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

LinkedIn groups still prove one of the few truly open ways to connect with peers. Historically, they have been a solid source of industry news and, more importantly, a suitable place to easily connect with professionals. At times, I used it weekly, but now I have dialed down my usage.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

I have found that, since early 2024, LinkedIn Groups have unfortunately been riddled with AI-generated content, making it hard to distinguish between real content by real people. Plus, even before the days of widespread AI, several groups were often flooded with promotional materials, rather than insightful content.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had found it particularly difficult to connect with professionals, since I'm working remotly and not often attending trade shows. LinkedIn Groups provided a fantastic channel to find and connect with these professionals across several industries.

**Reviewed by:** Lakshmi G. | Digital Marketing Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2023

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

I have been a member of several LinkedIn groups and have found them to be helpful in networking with other professionals. The groups provide a great way to connect with people in your field and gain insight into trends and topics in your industry. The discussions are often informative and provide valuable insights. Additionally, the groups often provide access to job postings and other opportunities. Overall, I have found the groups to be a useful tool for networking and staying up to date with industry trends.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

I dislike the fact that LinkedIn Groups can become cluttered with irrelevant posts and spam. It can be difficult to find discussions related to your interests or industry, and it's easy to get overwhelmed by all of the noise. Additionally, there is no way to filter out posts from certain people or companies, which can lead to an overload of unwanted content.
