LinkedIn has been pretty useful for hiring and connecting with like-minded business people. LinkedIn is made for networking so it's great to have places where people can connect based on industry or interest. I do like that you can send announcements in group (at least this used to be a feature, it has been awhile since I've used it) and it will email members of the group. It's unfortunate and I'm not fully sure why but there hasn't been much engagement in the groups. I do marketing for businesses and have tried in the past to get alumni groups or special interest groups to work for these businesses, but the content hardly gets seen and the people in the group don't interact much.
