**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

LinkedIn Groups are a great way to connect with others in your industry or who share your interests. They are a good forum for information sharing.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

LinkedIn Groups are hit or miss as to whether they actually provide any value or not based upon who's running them. If the owner of the group doesn't moderate, you get hit with a lot of people just selling services which is not a value-add for me. Also, I will often join groups and not see any posts or participation in them at all so I'm not sure if they aren't coming up on people's feeds (because who knows how LinkedIn algorithms work) or if people just don't use them because they don't feel they are useful.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's nice to have a place where my peers and industry professionals can talk, share info, and collaborate.

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

Latest updates related to a particular industry. The knowledge of the crowd collectively and sometimes the insights are amazing. You get ideas which only a peer group can produce.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

Groups are not maintained properly sometimes, you have to be selective about knowledge that is shared in the group all the time.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For a small firm that is trying to grow in the industry, wonderful insights can be gained through the people in the industry. Can provide networking brilliant networking opportunities and information which is not eveident for an outsider.

  ### 34. Amazing Group Feature on LinkedIn!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristie K. | Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

I like being part of groups for work and LinkedIn Groups is an organized feature on LinkedIn where it helps me keep in touch with my contacts, peers, and coworkers. The feature is easy to use and I need permission to join a specific group. From the group, I can see the different updates on jobs and careers for my peers. I cannot talk to my coworkers and peers all the time, so I use LinkedIn Groups to communicate with them. There are other features on there where I can see updates from my peer and I can congratulate them or send short messages on their achievements.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

A lot of people join the LinkedIn Groups but they do not always keep in touch. It is a feature that can be forgotten easily, so unless there is someone in the group who is very active and keeps posts active, the feature isn't a top priority when using LinkedIn. I used to just use LinkedIn for connecting with classmates but over the years, people forget about me or they don't want to keep in touch professionally anymore. LinkedIn Groups is great for school and work but I wouldn't use it as a feature to keep in touch with close connections.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LinkedIn Groups doesn't have many issues or problems that I have noticed. It's just a feature that can be forgotten easily because there isn't much to do other than create quick posts. People who I connect to more in depth are added on my other social media accounts like Instagram or Facebook. I use LinkedIn Groups to connect with coworkers and classmates. I have seen that it is a way to organize my contacts and see where I met the specific person.

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

"I like the ability to find like-minded professionals in my field easily, and be able to share relevant content with them quickly. I also enjoy being able to ask questions to larger groups or even specific people that have experience in certain areas.

It seems as though the majority of Groups consist of some kind people, some grey-area marketers and spammers, and a few good folks. Joining several groups doesn't unclog the spammy notifications I get from those with large member bases.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The possibility of discussing and sharing knowledge and experience with professionals in your field. The possibility of searching for people who have a certain kind of expertise or work for a particular organization, instead of having to search through one's contacts.

Ease of setup - it is super easy to get your group up and running in LI. Simple features to customize and invite network, as well as share to feed or via inbox messaging.

It tends to get lost in all of the random LinkedIn notifications, so group members don't always see updates, and member participation can dry up.
