**Reviewed by:** Emily F. | Content Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

This is a great way to connect with like-minded individuals in the world of business, specifically in niches that are of interest to you. You van help learn from one another and build your network through LinkedIn groups.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

I find that interaction is not as high as they are on group platforms such as Facebook groups. As well, membership on LinkedIn groups tends to be lower than what would be ideal. I find that members of the groups often send spam inboxes to each other, as well.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

People are not as interactive on LinkedIn and don't seem to realize that LinkedIn groups are necessarily a thing. This is disappointing, because I feel that these groups could be very beneficial.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

It is not a very strong connection. Once contacted, social media is the main form to connect with individuals. I learn more from others proud of their achievements to know how many opportunities are out there

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Expand what LinkedIn groups can do such as zoom connections and smaller groups based on interests. Because even in larger groups, there is capability to enhance by breaking to smaller groups

I like the fact that the LinkedIn group is free and easy to access anywhere in the world. I have got tons of information and assistance that is priceless from my online entrepreneurship group.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

This is hard to put your finger on an issue that is really significant except for one gray area- LinkedIn Group administrators need to be a little strick and take time to screen intending members. There are some people in groups that are there for different purposes.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LinkedIn group has served as a veritable resource platform where I get valuable Professional advice for my Business. I also assist others in the group by providing answers to their questions every now and then.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankur G. | Campaign Associate, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

The best part is that you can easily connect with people of same interest, and you can get to know about them and their related product in the most significant way.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

Unlike Facebook Group one has to be very active and engage on a lot of posts to remain as a highlight of the group.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem of reavhing to wider audience with similar interests as that of our own brand. One can be more productive and also learn new ways of marketing by being in these groups.

 ### 5. LInkedIn Groups are Not Practical

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manny S. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

LinkedIn Groups offer an opportunity to find like-minded contacts to do business with. It helps me build an email database and add the emails to constant contact.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

LinkedIn Groups don't make it easy to communicate with other business people because you can't seem to reach them. It seems like the members in the group aren't focused on networking at times.

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Groups:**

Don't join too many groups. You are allowed to join 50. Join a select few and post good content that is useful to the members of the group.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to find specific contacts for companies I'm interested in connecting with. It helps making new connection. It does help with productivity.

 ### 6. A place to promote your brand and services in the professional environment

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hernán B. | Partner & Executive Design Director | Structural & Graphic Packaging Design expert , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

These groups can be used both to find productive professional relationships and to receive enriching insights into the business or to promote brand awareness. These spaces allow for conversations and even debates on topics related to corporate interests, with the aim of creating a community.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

It could become very difficult to get members to engage and interact with each other. To encourage discussion, you can propose a weekly topic for reflection, based on your own interests or on some content on the Net, as well as commenting on existing conversations and even taking polls.

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Groups:**

An important part of managing LinkedIn groups is to create rules that govern members' activity and are tailored to the interests of the administrator. This way members know where they stand and what the usual topics of discussion are. An aimless group is not the best place to interact. To run a LinkedIn group successfully, a company manager or community manager, if there is one, needs to devote time to it. The administrator has to be one of the most active members and steer the conversations towards topics that are in line with the objectives.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I could promote my thought leadership through sharing valuable content and promoting my podcast.

 ### 7. LinkedIn Groups allows you to establish a community behind your product or company online

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

It's free, which is a huge bonus, it allows us to test the engagement and desire for a space that users can communicate before investing into a knowledge base, allowing us to save a great deal.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

everyone must be on linkedin, if youre not you cant be part of the group, which is unfortunate because not everyone wants to be on LinkedIn, but wants to be a member of the group.

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Groups:**

Be sure you have a group that is ready to engage, starting a group and filling it with people is the easy part, getting them to connect and engage with one another is the challenge.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are evaluating the eagerness of our customer base to have a space where they can interact with each other as well as engage directly with industry experts and employees regarding matters they're experiencing before we invest in a knowledge base platform.

 ### 8. A must-have to host industry related conversations.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael D. | Digital Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

One of my favorite parts about LinkedIn Groups is the ability to customize the group to your brand or topic not just by the name. You can create and upload your own or a new custom logo to show off in the group's profile. the helps it stand out much better.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

Some of the group settings and moderation tools can be a little daunting and confusing at first, but you eventually get used to them. Also, there are a lot of groups and a lot of established groups on LinkedIn currently. It will be hard at first to build your group up and get a lot of members into it. If you are looking for a quick build and a large audience immediately then you will be disappointed in the end.

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Groups:**

Try them out. Join a few and create one of your own. You will not regret it. In my opinion, it is one of the best ways to help establish your brand or your own thought leadership in a particular industry or space. Have patience when building your group or joining a group. When building a group it is usually a slow build and can take some time to get a lot of members in it and start meaningful conversations. When joining a larger group, keep in mind that there are usually 100s of people requesting to join daily and it might take a while for the moderator of the group to accept you into it.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can keep in touch with certain industry professionals about a specific topic on an ongoing basis. When running your own group, you can use it to host industry-related conversations. The benefit of that is for everyone in the group anytime they are talking about a particular topic your brand or you will be associated with it. This is a great way to build relationships and expand your network.

 ### 9. Literally helps to make your career

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sourav S. | Customer Service Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

LinkedIn is something that is going to make your professional life much more accessible and organized. It helps people to connect with people, or we can say do networking with the desired person to get them help or insight into their own chosen field. You will find the same people who have been on the same career journey you have been and gain a lot from their knowledge and experience.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

The most irrelevant insignificant substance is having a subscription plan to send messages to well-renowned people or key people of an organization. Yes, people are organized on LinkedIn. And the subscription price is really high you bet.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As far as now, I just have one problem with LinkedIn is their super expensive subscriptions. Other than that, it's fantastic. As I have decided to do an MBA in sports management, LinkedIn helped me to connect with the people who were in the same field of work and communicate with them with their experience. And guys, trust me, it is seamless. Also, if you didn't know, LinkedIn can provide you with a basic cv with all the details aligned together, which you have mentioned on your profile.

 ### 10. Not a comfortable experience, but not 100% the platform's fault

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rodrigo L. | Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

I like the idea of connecting with like-minded peers and how to discuss niche subjects. LinkedIn is too open, and connecting with people from my industry doesn't not guarantee they will tackle their niche subjects, so groups make it easier.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

It feels too much like a native LinkedIn interface; it lacks group-specific tools and resources. Plus, managing and accessing groups takes too many clicks and navigation. However, many groups serve only as spam hubs, with webinar invites and such. LinkedIn should support group managers with resources to better manage, moderate and stimulate other types of content.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using LinkedIn groups to understand the industry better and connect with my audience, building my network with the people I want to either do business in the future with or learn from.

 ### 11. Another way to connect on LinkedIn

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

LinkedIn Groups is an excellent resource to connect with like-minded individuals interested in specific topics or activities. I found it to be a great resource for learning, networking, and notifying the group about interesting events.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

Certain groups are more active than others. I found some to be more valuable than others and unless the group is actively managed, they can lack engagement if not actively managed. I recently posted to one group and got no engagement. Keep an eye out for this.

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Groups:**

Keep an eye out to make sure the group is active. Many groups may be active one year and the next may have zero activity.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a great resource for targeted messages to a specific audience. When you post on your main page, you are typically only reaching your audience, and impressions are limited to your network. With LinkedIn Groups, you expand your reach to people interested in a given topic. This can help with content reach.

 ### 12. LinkedIn Groups help you build strong professional communities.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Humsi S. | Canva Pro Affiliate Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

LinkedIn groups are truly amazing places to get along with like-minded people and share similar thoughts. I enjoy posting in groups to the best ability. The best part is the reaction that I receive is amazing.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

Sometimes I find these groups to be boring. When people share irrelevant posts and the notifications continuously pop up is a very irritating thing. Sometimes people keep on mentioning you. That is also a bad experience.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since LinkedIn groups are best for communities, it helps in creating a great bond between the people. You may reach a greater audience with the help of such groups. You can also promote your own brand and solve the community issues altogether.

 ### 13. Effective One to Many Channel that needs active management to succeed

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

The potential to reach and engage an incredible business audience. LinkedIn is, by far, the largest general business community in the world - this is a huge positive, but also a negative as it is too general an audience. LinkedIn groups allow you to segment and narrow the audience to better fit your ideal customer profile

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

I dislike how hard it is to grow the group organically. LinkedIn seems to have taken a short-term, monetization-first strategy, relying on paid posts and other paid features to spur growth. In my opinion, this hurts the product and causes others to try o build community through other platforms

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Groups:**

Before starting your group, search for others in your industry. You will undoubtedly pick up some tips on how to engage the audience, but it might be smarter for you to join an existing group vs starting your own

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have solved the problem of narrowing LinkedIn's massive audience into a professional group that has common interests. This has enabled me to gain insights about my customers, my competitors and reach new prospects.

 ### 14. LinkedIn Group have made networking so easy!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liz H. | Community Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

LinkedIn groups have really helped to make a networking you're an introvert. In addition of they have helped me to learn new things about the subjects I am passionate about from people with more experience in the field.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

Unfortunately because anyone can join a group there are some who end up posting only sales messages, no helpful tips or advice, And at times even message you directly offering their services unsolicited. Some members even offer Services are against LinkedIn and Google policies and guidelines. The feeds in the groups become spare me when this happens.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an introvert normal networking is very difficult but through groups or people with the same interests join starting a conversation about a subject you're passionate about it's not difficult.

LinkedIn has been pretty useful for hiring and connecting with like-minded business people. LinkedIn groups has been trying to evolve into a better offering inside LinkedIn, but I don't know when it will grow into something meaningful.

LinkedIn is the best proficient organization media stage in the present time, likewise LinkedIn bunch include assists you with associating with the most pertinent gathering according to our industry/additionally there are numerous applicable posts that are distributed on LinkedIn and LinkedIn bunch, We can without much of a stretch get associated with the senior individual through the gathering and can send however many Inmails as we can in the gatherings with LinkedIn Group you can look for Relevant Jobs, Industry information, industry experiences and some more.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

The most noticeably awful part that I don't care for is that superior substance is paid, and they charge a ton assuming we need to go with premium too If we drop our greeting, then, at that point we can't send a solicitation to a similar individual for something like seven days.

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Groups:**

The Linkedin bunch is an expert stage where we can impart our insights and conversation about the subject that we are keen on.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LinkedIn Groups doesn't have many issues or issues that I have taken note. Simply a component can be forgotten effectively in light of the fact that there isn't a lot to do other than make fast posts. Individuals who I interface with additional inside and out are added on my other web-based media accounts like Instagram or Facebook. I use LinkedIn Groups to associate with collaborators and colleagues. I have seen that it is an approach to put together my contacts and see where I met the particular individual.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

I have not found anything that I don't love about this app.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

 ### 30. Nice for social; but groups are going to get to your target

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

Groups allows easy access to prospects and their profiles; if you have navigator, or a fuller access to LI, than you can even direct message and send rich text, attachments etc.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

It's overflooded with vendors that are all using the inbox messaging to send their blanket pitches. Specifically now in groups, vendors are vetted and posts are too so that they do not become advertising post sites and rather, offer thoughts and knowledge on a specific subject to an informed prospect base. To succeed in this platform, you must not pitch!

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Groups:**

Don't make it your go-to spot; it should be complementary to other sales avenues you are using. Make it informal yet professional, informative not salesy, when posting.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Outside of posting, there is little to know about what level of engagement prospects are giving. You can see who viewed your post, but not anything else in terms of engagement (clicked on link, how long they were there, etc.) Benefits seem to be that if you are familiar with one person, you can somewhat get fraternized into their community.

 ### 31. Grabs attention from Professionals!

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

User interface is easy to see and understand. It automatically searched for people I know in locations I can understand. Connecting on the regular in a professional way is ket to growth.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

Longer free trials would be nice to really dive into the software to see improvement company-wide. Also, seeing more Linkedin has to offer across the board of products and accessories.

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Groups:**

Keep being awesome!

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connecting with missed connections or making connections of those in a similar role. Birds of a feather flock together, so many professionals can recommend me once a good service is received.

 ### 32. LinkedIn groups - A feature copied wrong

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Package/Freight Delivery | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

- Central space for specific skills for example - Angular, UI, backend where one can find the latest news posted or any new feature release in a language or framework
- Like-minded and people with a similar set of skills to connect with.
- Can reach out to others in case getting stuck somewhere or post directly in the group

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

- Less activity in most of the groups
- there is no credit system for those who post content, there needs to be some way a person can feel valued for their contribution on the platform
- less features apart from simple post, can incorporate a lot of features from quora

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- I have followed three groups - Angular, React, and UI group where I get updates on what new is happening in that specific skill or if there is some security issue
- I get updated about different topics from there
- I have posted issues that i have faced in the group but have not got that active response from there

 ### 33. LinkedIn Groups - An Insider Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

What I like best about LinkedIn Groups is that it provides a place for professionals with similar interests to share their insights and experiences, ask for guidance, and build valuable connections. There are numerous options for networking and learning about specific topics of interest or industries.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

Although LinkedIn Groups is beneficial in many ways, there are times when certain groups seem spammy. Some people post links to unrelated content and try marketing or promoting a service instead of contributing.

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Groups:**

Be sure to utilize the appropriate groups related to your interests and industry. In addition, do not use groups to try selling or marketing your company, product, or services.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LinkedIn Groups have helped me network with industry professionals, helped with educating me on industry trends and topics, and have even helped lead to future sales.

 ### 34. LinkedIn Groups - Great Platform to build your community

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2022

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

Its a great platform to build community for networking with like minded peers from your industry because of the popularity of LinkedIn. LinkedIn is also very easy to use. You can find solutions to challenges that you're facing and learns from your peers with the help of LinkedIn Groups.

It has got some great engagement features like creating polls, group cover images, pinning the post on top, Live streaming of videos, connecting easily with other members of the group.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

You cannot personalise your branding on the mobile app and you have to use LinkedIn App only. It will be hard to bring more members to your groups as there are multiple groups on LinkedIn, so a user can be easily distracted. There is a lot of spam on LinkedIn groups.

The privacy of the members can be easily compromised on LinkedIn.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it to share valuable content and knowledge sharing for our peers in the industry, Also, using it to for networking opportunities and building relationships with industry experts and leaders.

It is helping us in the exchange of ideas and gather the opinions of other people to solve our challenges.

 ### 35. Good resource for community marketing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

LinkedIn Groups is a good resource for community marketing. You have a good level of control to guide the direction of the community, to effectively moderate, and to build brand awareness for your product. Would recommend

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

There aren't many things to dislike about LinkedIn Groups as a marketing tool. There could be more levels of flexibility when it comes to granting admin rights. However, many of the pieces put into place make sense and make running the groups easier

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to reach our community on the ground level and get a space to interact and build trust with and get feedback from. LinkedIn groups is a good alternative to community building that is better than Facebook Groups because of the professional angle and works well especially if targeting a more professional/B2B type of audience.

 ### 36. Informative for beginners who want to learn something new

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neha P. | Account Manager- Existing Business, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

I like that I can be a part of groups I want to know more about. There are a lot of groups that I follow specifically related to CSM and Account Management because I have personally worked in those 2 fields. It helps keep me up to date with the industry trends and what is new in the market. At times there are a lot of helpful content and videos that are posted which gives me tips and tricks to work on my account and this has been really helpful for my career profile as well.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

There's nothing to dislike as such apart from the fact that you can make these groups public. Most of the groups are private and require an invite to join. I believe knowledge should be available to all without any invites or so on.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not that I was facing any issues before I was a part of LinkedIn groups. It is a good to have feature. As I mentioned earlier in my 1st answer, I learned a lot of tips and tricks based on my roles from industry experts where they shared the scenarios they have faced in real-time and how they dealt with those. This helps you analyze things from a broader perspective and you are readily available with solutions when you face a similar situation in the future.

 ### 37. Relevant and Authentic

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Groups:**

It is a great place for learning as well as growing. One must try this awesome feature

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

 ### 38. Needs to be in the right market but can be valuable if you are in one of those markets

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve D. | Head of Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

- Free
- On a platform where many people already are on it
- On a platform where it is pretty easy to find people who are in your market and invite them into your group

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

- For many markets, LinkedIn is not really a place where people in market go for content & can be hard to drive engagement or attention or leads / sales on the platform
- From what I've seen, the organic reach is not that strong for groups. This is likely different if you own the group and the admin 'recommends' the post. You obviously need to provide value otherwise it will get tuned out pretty quickly

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are a channel to promote content but to be honest we have a lot to learn in terms of how to best utilize them.....or maybe understand that our markets may not be that ripe for LinkedIn Groups as a channel.

 ### 39. Good idea, but in practice nobody really uses them.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lance S. | Senior Director of Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

LinkedIn Groups provides a user-friendly platform for networking and sharing information with groups of people. The group administrator has control over who is and isn't allowed in, so you can ensure there's no one communicating with people that you don't want to communicate with them.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

This is tough, as I'm not sure whether it's a problem with the platform or just people's general perception of it. I suspect the latter. I've been involved in a number of LinkedIn Groups, including taking the lead on setting one up, where people specifically want to be able to communicate and share information with a closed group. And in every case, people have used it initially and then just stopped. What I dislike, therefore, is that no one actually seems to use LinkedIn Groups beyond initially joining one.

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Groups:**

LinkedIn Groups to me is one of those things that seems like it should work but never really has. I think an important thing to do when creating a group is to ensure your group really wants to be a group, that they really want to be in regular communication with each other. If you can supply relevant, interesting content to people with enough frequency that they expect and want it, I think it could be an effective way to engage people. But in most cases, I think people just don't use LinkedIn enough to make LinkedIn Groups an effective way of staying in touch with people.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LinkedIn Groups is a way for colleagues to keep in touch to share relevant information and network. I've always used if for groups comprised of colleagues from different organizations. It does solve the problem of facilitating communication among colleagues who want to stay in touch. The benefits are that it makes it easy to communicate with specific groups easily and efficiently.

 ### 41. Good in Theory - But Needs Work

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gillian W. | SEO Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

I like that LinkedIn Groups is integrated within the LinkedIn Platform. This is my primary Social Media platform, so I appreciate their is a group option for connecting with small networks of people that I am and am not connected to.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

It seems that groups are to narrow in scope. It would be good if it was designed more like Facebook... in terms of having Learning Units or folders for uploading resources for members. Like videos, PDFs, etc.

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Groups:**

I really like being a member of several LinkedIn groups. I have found the smaller groups are better because the moderators stay on top of any SPAM. Plus, members of small groups are really looking to help each other.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LinkedIn Groups allows me to have focused conversations/discussions with select people. Also allows me to grow my network on LinkedIn, because I am meeting strangers (not connected with) that share the same interests as I do.

 ### 43. LinkedIn Groups is one of the best learning and networking platforms for professionals

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander K. | Marketing Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

I have found LinkedIn Groups most helpful because they give me excellent insight into what I'm looking for as a business professional. To expand, when I join a group about marketing, I am immersed in a learning environment where everybody is sharing their unique pieces of knowledge and aren't afraid to give tips and share insight that may not be shared in a standard LinkedIn or social post in general. The groups are much more tight-knit than my personal network on LinkedIn, and I feel like everybody is out to assist me in my personal and professional development journey(s).

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

While there are very few things I dislike about LinkedIn Groups, I'd have to say that it is sometimes a bit difficult to stay engaged due to the fact that so many of the group members are working professionals and don't always have time to comment or share their opinions.

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use LinkedIn Groups to help me close my personal knowledge gaps when it comes to marketing and specifically, digital marketing. I feel like I can approach the groups I'm a part of with tricky, industry-related questions without a fear of being looked down on or disregarded due to my potential lack of experience. Unlike the majority of social media platforms, this is something I have found to be very positive about LinkedIn Groups.

 ### 44. Linkedin groups are a good place for networking

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

What i like best of Linkedin Groups is the possibility to meet new people with same interest of mine, engaging them with conversations without pitching for a sale. that is very important for social selling

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

I don't like too much that some groups are used as a fishing spot, publishing only promotional contents and advertising text without adding value to the group. That could be improved with different control

**What problems is LinkedIn Groups solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Linkedin Groups, i can do research of the new topic, find prospects in target with me and use content to make social selling and helping people in their evaluations

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

LinkedIn is the best professional network media platform in today's time, also LinkedIn group feature helps you connect with the most relevant group as per our industry/ also there are many relevant posts that are published on LinkedIn and LinkedIn group, We can easily get connected to the senior person through the group and can send as many Inmails as we can in the groups with LinkedIn Group you can search for Relevant Jobs, Industry knowledge, industry insights and many more

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

Limited access is what irritates in the group, if its a group then why is limited version also group feeds are not shown in the home page feeds we have to go into the group to view it, limited group invites which we can send,

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Groups:**

I recommend every professional to get LinkedIn groups/ create your own group and make use of the professional network

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muzaffar S. | Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Groups?**

I like that LinkedIn groups are extremely exclusive and are well curated to avoid unnecessary spamming which is the common case for most marketing platforms with groups. LinkedIn groups have proven their worth from networking potential to lead generation capabilities.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

I don't like that I can only connect to groups up to a certain extent and then it doesn't allow me to add groups, which is somewhat good also to avoid spamming and duplicate content. But it should have a bypass feature for the one's who have a genuine motive to send out requests to multiple groups

I have generated a lot of traffic for the organizations that I have worked with via LinkedIn groups as they cost nothing and this has led to an increase in client potential of these companies

For most brands it can be used as a channel to share content to those who will find it most valuable.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Groups?**

LinkedIn Groups have a small disadvantage which is your audience can distract very easily if there are many LinkedIn groups about the same topic. Also, the privacy settings are not that good and members can see details of other members who are a part of the group. Moreover, you don't get a white label app in which you can do your own branding.

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Groups:**

This is a great feature and if you are starting a new B2B community, Linkedin groups should definitely be used as most B2B audience is already present on LinkedIn. so adoption rate would be higher as users already come on Linkedin regularly.
