What do you like best about Dyknow Classroom?

I love being able to monitor my students during test and classwork. I am appreciative of being able to monitor students when I am not at school. It's helpful to be able to share information and sites, answer questions for students who need that. It's especially helpful to be able to block some sites. What do you dislike about Dyknow Classroom?

We still have trouble telling when students are cheating. They seem to be doing this by appearing to be online (on the test sites like MasteryConnect, etc) while another student is signed in on my student's login (so it shows up on Dy'know) and cheats for them. I just watched a student having a Google Doc conversation with another student (who might be at another school!) via sharing. I didn't know how to block that without knocking everyone else off Chromebooks. (I finally shut the student down.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We are able to figure out what sites they use for watching movies and other things they should not be doing. I love that I can block site after site. I also have found this a great way to help students even when I am not in the room. I have helped other teachers by monitoring students in their rooms when they happen not to be logged into Dy'know. "In the (Dy)know with Virtual and Hybrid Learning"

What do you like best about Dyknow Classroom?

Since my students aren't immediately with me in the classroom, this has been a great tool for redirecting students that tend to go off on a Google/YouTube-induced tangent. I use the option to send individual messages more than anything, especially when I notice a student who is supposed to be working with me playing games and video chatting with their friends. I sometimes wish I could see the look on their face when their game gets paused and the link to my virtual class automatically opens Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dyknow Classroom?

Of course, students being students, have found some ways to circumvent Dyknow. Ultimately though, I've decided if they are that dedicated to ignoring me, I'll just leave them to it. What problems is Dyknow Classroom solving and how is that benefiting you?

Using Dyknow to direct (and redirect) students has oddly increased their motivation. When students know that I have the ability to see what tabs they actively have open during class, they tend to stick with the class content better. I don't particularly appreciate that only one teacher at a time can monitor a group of students. It is quite inconvenient when a previous teacher forgets to stop tracking a group of students when I need to begin. I often looked at internet history and saw that students had been playing a game during the entire class, which is very frustrating. What do you like best about Dyknow Classroom?

The product is very intuitive, and our teachers do not need a lot of training to understand all of its features and how they can use them in a classroom setting. It can be set up to always be on so the teacher does not have to remember to launch the software at the beginning of a class. It allows the teacher to limit specific websites from being launched. What do you like best about Dyknow Classroom?

I like that I can check the student's work as they complete their assignments. It helps stop and fix mistakes before the students submit their work. It also allows me not to stand over the students checking their work during Covid. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don't like that its not a live version like apple classroom. I hate that it takes time to update. During class this isn't as much a problem but during assessments or when I am trying to make sure students don't cheat then the refresh rate takes forever. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

IT is slow. I can't open two classes at once, without having to permanently combine the class. It takes a long time to open the student's screens. I can't block a page just for that student. IF a student logs out of their Chromebook they are no longer logged in and they have to click on log back into Dyknow. I can't schedule the classes to start and stop when needed. It doesn't save messages between teacher and student. That's all I can think about at the moment. Students are learning how to go around Dyknow by opening other programs. What do you like best about Dyknow Classroom?

I like that I can see what my students are working on. Especially since most of my kiddos are virtual, if they are struggling with something, I can walk them through step by step and see what they are clicking or typing when helping them navigate their computer.
