Dyknow Classroom Reviews & Product Details

Since my students aren't immediately with me in the classroom, this has been a great tool for redirecting students that tend to go off on a Google/YouTube-induced tangent. I use the option to send individual messages more than anything, especially when I notice a student who is supposed to be working with me playing games and video chatting with their friends. I sometimes wish I could see the look on their face when their game gets paused and the link to my virtual class automatically opens Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Of course, students being students, have found some ways to circumvent Dyknow. Ultimately though, I've decided if they are that dedicated to ignoring me, I'll just leave them to it. I love actively monitoring student technology use in real-time instead of helplessly hearing that familiar, frenzied click-click-click of closing tabs as I approach. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don't particularly appreciate that only one teacher at a time can monitor a group of students. It is quite inconvenient when a previous teacher forgets to stop tracking a group of students when I need to begin. A solution to this is allowing multiple teachers to monitor actively simultaneously. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The product is very intuitive, and our teachers do not need a lot of training to understand all of its features and how they can use them in a classroom setting. It can be set up to always be on so the teacher does not have to remember to launch the software at the beginning of a class. It allows the teacher to limit specific websites from being launched. I like that I can check the student's work as they complete their assignments. It helps stop and fix mistakes before the students submit their work. It also allows me not to stand over the students checking their work during Covid. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don't like that its not a live version like apple classroom. I hate that it takes time to update. During class this isn't as much a problem but during assessments or when I am trying to make sure students don't cheat then the refresh rate takes forever. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

IT is slow. I can't open two classes at once, without having to permanently combine the class. It takes a long time to open the student's screens. I can't block a page just for that student. IF a student logs out of their Chromebook they are no longer logged in and they have to click on log back into Dyknow. I can't schedule the classes to start and stop when needed. It doesn't save messages between teacher and student. That's all I can think about at the moment. Students are learning how to go around Dyknow by opening other programs. I like that I can see what my students are working on. Especially since most of my kiddos are virtual, if they are struggling with something, I can walk them through step by step and see what they are clicking or typing when helping them navigate their computer.

I love the ability to monitor what my students are working on even if I am not in the classroom. When I am out of the building I can log into see what they are working on with the Substitute and redirect students if needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish that there were a way to set a list of blocked websites that would always remained blocked. I currently have to begin my session and then click the list of sites that I want to block. Also I wish that session would last longer than 2 hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
