Riverside is an audio-video recording platform for broadcast media and podcasts.
Also listed in Video Editing, Webinar, Screen and Video Capture, Transcription, Content Creation

What stood out most for me was how Riverside reduced the effort required to create clean, professional recordings during project discussions and presentation-sharing activities.
I used it mainly for recording walkthroughs, webinar-style sessions, and explanation videos where audio clarity and quick editing mattered. The separate audio/video tracks were genuinely useful because even when internet quality fluctuated, the final recording quality remained stable.
The AI transcript editing saved a lot of time during longer recordings. Instead of manually searching through videos to trim sections or extract key points, I could directly edit through the transcript and generate shorter clips much faster.
I also liked the automatic subtitles and Magic Clips feature because it simplified converting long recordings into smaller shareable updates for presentations and communication workflows.
The interface felt modern without becoming overly technical, and overall performance during recording and exporting remained reliable in regular usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Descript is the only video editor that gives you the power to create and edit professionally crafted video using AI, or on your own.
Also listed in Virtual Recording Studio, Screen and Video Capture, AI Video Generators, Text to Speech, AI Avatar Generators

What I value most about Descript is how much it reduces the friction in creating and editing technical walkthroughs, presentation recordings, and process-explanation videos. Earlier, even a small correction in a recording meant manually searching timelines and trimming clips in traditional editing software. With Descript, editing through the transcript changed that workflow completely.
One feature I regularly use is text-based editing. While preparing training recordings or internal demo videos, I can remove repeated lines, pauses, or mistakes directly from the transcript instead of manually cutting frames. That alone saves a noticeable amount of editing time during weekly content preparation.
The screen-recording workflow is also very practical. I often record short walkthroughs, process demonstrations, or presentation explanations, and Descript automatically generates transcripts, captions, and cleaned-up audio in the same workspace. The AI-assisted filler-word removal and audio cleanup tools were unexpectedly useful because they reduced the amount of manual polishing normally required before sharing recordings.
I also liked how approachable the UI/UX feels compared to heavier editing suites. The onboarding process was straightforward, the built-in instructions were clear, and integrations with export and sharing workflows made it easier to prepare professional-looking recordings without requiring advanced editing expertise.
And productivity. Instead of spending hours cleaning recordings manually, most small-to-medium edits can now be completed much faster, which improved turnaround time for presentations, documentation videos, and instructional content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is comprehensive and allows me to edit podcast and music files (both fo audio only and for video) with full control over my clips. The interface - while it has tons of tools and can at first look overwhelming - is intuitive and easy to learn, and visually makes it easy to edit clips. It also communicates will with the other Adobe Create Cloud apps that I use like Premiere Pro.
I can fix audio issues on my clips with ease, accuracy, and no one will know that the clip is even edited! Performance is second-to-none as far as I'm concerned. There is nothing left "wanting" in terms of what's on the market to mix and edit audio.
I use this mainly to edit podcasts, as well as to fix sound on video recordings of our school's concerts. I have occasionally used it to fix or enhance audio on other videos (more dialogue based as necessary) when Premiere Pro doesn't have enough audio capabilities.

I use Avid Pro Tools for music production and commercials for radio and TV because it's perfect for mixing, composing, recording, and mastering. Editing is super simple with tools like slice, cut, move, stretch, and using Elastic Audio makes it smooth. The pitch correction is great, and consolidating audio to minimize session size is efficient. Committing plugins to your track is so seamless. I’ve been using Pro Tools since version 6, and it just keeps getting better with each update. REAPER is a complete digital audio production application for Windows and OS X, offering a full multitrack audio and MIDI recording, editing, processing, mixing and mastering

Reaper was one of the first software that I started using as a student. As time went on and my business started to scale up, I was able to switch to a commercial license. The best thing about Reaper is that there are no limitations placed on anyone using the software for the first time. All installations come with a 60 day evaluation license that does not limit the software even after the time period is over. The folks at Cockos even offer a discounted license for students that is a fraction of the cost you would pay for a full copy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
