## Studio One Reviews
  ### 1. Awesome

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kayode D. | Chief Executive Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

First, it's the Interface.

I love the click and drag capabilities of Studio compared to any other DAW I have ever used. The work flow is just simply amazing.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

I realized a very serious challenge when I started using the software on Desktop Computers.

There was a time that power was suddenly interrupted which made the computer abruptly shut off.

By the time I switched it on and loaded my Project, Studio One says the file is corrupt, so I couldn't load the project again and it has happened consistently. So I'm now careful to use the UPS and backup my project regularly. That has been my major challenge with Studio One.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a Music Producer, Studio One has helped me in creating amazing music for my clients.

The work flow is great and I'm glad I'm gracually getting International recognition for my Job

  ### 2. Studio One is my top DAW because....

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jamie M. | Expert Operator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

Studio One feels like it's taken the best parts of other DAWs and combined them together. The multi-tool that was first seen in Pro Tools feels even more intuitive in S1. The user interface is clean and precise with many options to suit different workflows.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

There are several things that can feel a bit like a gimmick. The Scratch Pad sounds like a good idea but unless you have a large monitor this becomes awkward to use and if you open a few by accident, closing them is laborious and disrupts your workflow.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use S1 to make dance music. I find the MIDI very accurate and the audio editing functions are so easy and quick. The workflow is fast and I can set my channels up in various different ways to suit my needs on projects.

  ### 3. Quality All Around

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zachary B. | Statistical Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

The intuitive user interface, hotkeys, and tools make this DAW the best I've used on the market. The advantage PreSonus gives its users has to be the fact that they care about the user experience. This shows not only through their continual updates, but also through their instructional and helpful videos put out on various platforms.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

The only thing I would improve is that they would list similar standards for new users on bit rates and other things. For instance, maybe implement a tool tip that notifies users that having a specific bit rate is what is used on various platforms the most. This is only something that might be helpful for those who don't know that much about mastering/mixing, or are new to using audio software.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They have everything I need and keep updating with stuff I didn't even know I needed. The best thing is how fluid creation and edits are, even swapping between mixes and plugins.

  ### 4. The best DAW

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** JOSE P. | Director of Engineering and Product Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

It is a very well-planned product, it is clear that they have invested a lot of time in designing an intuitive user interface, however, due to the number of options offered by the product, it is essential to study previously, for which there are infinite network resources.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Although I don't find that I don't like it, maybe it would be a good idea to offer more options when buying the version of STUDIO ONE, at present, there is a very big jump in money between versions. Luckily, to minimize this aspect, there is a monthly subscription plan that allows you to have the most complete version of STUDIO ONE for a reasonable monthly amount.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

I have used several DAWs and finally, I think I have found the definitive one, at least to this day. It is easy to use without losing professionalism. Highly recommended.!

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an amateur musician, the little time that I can dedicate to my passion for music, I prefer to allocate to the act of playing and composing, with STUDIO ONE being so well planned, making a home recording is something accessible to everyone, even if we do not have great technical knowledge, being able to focus on the main task of making MUSIC.

  ### 5. Amazing DAW that is a fast track to creating a masterpiece

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh S. | Media and Communications Minister, Religious Institutions, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

What I love most about Studio One is that it has everything you would need to write, record, and produce a professional audio track, all contained in itself without having to go looking for outside plug-ins or software. I mean, yes of course most people will go looking for those things but you don't have to. There are plenty of virtual instruments and plug-ins effects to make incredible music without anything else.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

I don't like that they want you to pay extra to be able to have the ability to allow plug-ins from a 3rd party, but I understand the pricing model. I am sure that helps them make some money. It also can be confusing when first trying to understand the layout and operation of the DAW. It works a little different from what I was used to coming from other software. But it didn't take to long to figure it all out. Youtube is a big help.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Studio One solves the problem of having a one-stop solution to writing, recording, producing, and mastering an audio track for professional use. It works incredibly fast and is super reliable. it steps out of the way so you can get down to creating without being slowed down and hindered by the software.

  ### 6. A Great Tool for Audio Production and Mastering

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David Y. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

Fast, intuitive, and integrates well with the Presonus line of hardware for an all-encompassing platform for live or studio recording to master of almost any genre of music or performance.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Some features can be hard to find, and the iconography is not always the most intuitive (at least to me) as to a button's function. More templating to apply individual preferences on top of a recordings settings would be helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

The price point is unbelievable, and the workflows and features are better than almost all of the competitors on the market. Make sure your computer has lots of RAM and just go for it!

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Studio One has made it easy for me to do a live concert recording and quickly pull a song, mix it down, and produce a studio-quality master recording using the same hardware and software controls from start to finish.

  ### 7. The Modern Studio One at Your Fingertips- where there IS room for a studio.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frederick F M. | Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

It was Challenging but not as difficult as I would have thought had I never considered learning Studio One. I AM a Senior Citizen (age 64,...'when I'm sixty-four...) and wrote and performed music for 40 years of carpentry and home remodel, and I quit my day job, as a home remodel specialist. NOW I'M RETIRED, and Studio One actually makes it possible for me to bring all of my music to life in my new second job as RETIRED. FUN HuH? What more could you ask? Besides the learning keeps me young.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

I've been using Studio One for 10 years now, since 2010, and I still have steep learning curves on all the new gear that comes out. Some of it is the same with different names and the extra time to find out the difference sometimes leads me astray.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

Give it a try. There is always room in your bedroom for THIS studio And you can run it OFF LINE, unlike other programs that you can't use without internet.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Once you establish a BASIC PLAN to start, something not too complicated like an orchestral or symphonic program, it is much easier to keep adding instruments and tracks later in the development. The Arranger and the Scratchpad are AWESOME.

  ### 8. Studio One by Presonus

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johnny T. | Intermittent Liquer Store Clerk , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

Presonus offering of Presonus sphere subscription services.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Lack of Android apps that allow you the ability to make music on mobile device

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Staying creative both on offline.

  ### 9. Studio One is a great DAW

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bob H. | Digital Cloud Sr. Technical Program Manager, PMO, CSM, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

The DAW is intuitive, works fast, is light on the CPU, has very low latency, and is extremely powerful. It works with all plug-ins and can take you from proof-of-concept, to recording, all the way to finished product - ready for publishing. Very cool.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

There are very few downsides. The only one that comes to mind is that when importing MIDI files, Studio One does not recognize the timing. That is an extra step you have to do every time you import MIDI. A little annoying. But despite that, it is a very powerful tool. I do love it.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am both using Studio One to record music in a Studio, as well as using it to create mix music (dubstep, EDM, and the like). It does both very well. I love that I can record as many tracks as I need (e.g. 5 vocals, 5 drum mics, 2 guitars, 1 bass, 2 keyboard tracks, etc.)

  ### 10. Studio One Review!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan Robert C. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

I really enjoy the interface. Makes my workflow for making and producing so much easier. Plus studio one offers tons of plugins for the exact sound you're looking for.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

As a die hard user of FL Studio the on screen midi keyboard wasn't the best or comparable to what I use now.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was nice to use different software and the exporting of tracks was seemless. It really helped maximize my workflow.

  ### 11. Best DAW for recording your ideas

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cameron S. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

The ease of use of Studio One is amazing! With the addition of the new Sphere setup, Studio One is made even better for advanced and inexperienced users alike. The scratch pad is definitely one of the cooler features! Being able to "scratch out" ideas and not harm my original project gives me a huge advantage in my workflow. I really appreciate that I can strengthen my workflow in music all in one app. With the update of Studio One 5, you now have access to premade recording templates, which makes my recording process even easier! There is so much offered for the low price point, it is just amazing to have all this at my disposal.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

I wish that the Chat window was built into Studio One. It would be so cool to be able to chat in the window as I am recording and working with a collaborator. I could definitely benefit from a cleaner mixer view; I sometimes find myself getting lost or working on the wrong channel just because it's unclear which channel I have clicked on. I really wish that entire mixer channels would be colorized, instead of just the labels, this would make it so much easier to quickly see which channel I am currently on. Also, when I create a new project, Studio One auto creates a folder for it, this is kind of a pain, as I now have to remember my project by date, unless I have saved and created a new folder to save all files to. This usually creates duplicate files up to the time you saved the new folder. Help me save time on my hard drive by only creating a folder when I actually save the project.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

If I am already using another DAW, I would start slow, using this alongside my main DAW to try and understand how my workflow transfers over to Studio One. This was a pain point for me at first, but only a small one. Other than that, I would definitely dive in and most importantly, I would use the learning platform to quickly get you started in Studio One.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to easily organize and keep track of my recording sessions. I am also able to make "sketches" for Ideas that I am having without damaging or erasing my current session. Being able to open other DAWs as "sub DAWs" inside Studio One and pull whatever I work on into the main interface easily just makes my workflow so much cleaner, I really look forward to opening Studio One whenever I am ready to record.

  ### 12. Studio one is the most innovative DAW on the market.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikolaus B. | Guitar Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

I like the drag and drop features. They make the workflow very intuitive. The macros make every thinkable shortcut possible, even if it involves complex processes.
Studio one uses the processing power of the computer better than Logic. Logic crashes a lot with big projects.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Videos seem to loose quality when you export them.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

It takes a while to switch from Logic Pro X to StudioOne, but it is worth it. Studio one has an intuitive function for everything. You end up twice as fast as working with Logic.
The Macro function can really combine your favourite shortcut to one powerfull one that does the whole thing in one go.
The amp simulation of Studio One is brilliant.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Studio one is very intuitive for sound design the drag and drop function onto audio files in a track makes it easier to get ideas realized quickly.

  ### 13. Studio One : Enabling Mix Engineers, Composers and Beyond

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob S. | Audio Visual Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

The best thing about Studio One is that has tons of great tools built in to make it competitive technically, while being superior by far in budget. Allowing for advanced organization during utilitarian editing iterations, providing full video support and enough stock plugins to do most anything you need to efficiently, S1 covers a wide variety of needs in elegant ways.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Needs a simple solution to split a stereo clip to mono without the 'select in pool' option. There is a way to do this, but its longer than it needs to be.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

Studio one probably has the tool you need for whatever job you're doing, although it might not be easy to find or do the job in one step, but it is likely there nonetheless. There are a number of in-depth functions like the strip silence feature, elastic audio, and markers that you'll find in "AnotherDAW" and will be different, but with an open mind one realizes these tools work just as well. As with any tool, make sure it does meet your needs before purchasing, but overall I recommend studio one for anyone looking to get the best bang for their buck.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to use studio one for any project I'm working on - whether its recording and writing to video, stripping silence from a thousand sample library clips in batch in one project, mixing and mastering a multitrack recording or fixing a two track record with a buzz in one side. It is an incredibly versatile software in this way, where it can be as musical or functional or both as an engineer needs it to be.

  ### 14. Makes you feel like your a professional record producer!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akash A. | Member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

Mixer: Mixer window is top notch! You can add Murillo tracks at the same time without it looking all squeezed up. Adding colour combinations makes the whole mixer look amazing

Recording on the go: I use Studio one on my iPad and record many tracks on the go. I’ve used Garage band previously but it doesn’t come close to the abilities of studio one. Especially if you’ve got a person is audio-box there’s no stopping you.

Reliability: If you’ve have not saved your file don’t worry it’s still there

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Lack of number of stock plugins.
Accidentally pressing certain hot keys
Lack of YouTube tutorials for studio one, only one that’s reliable is Joe Gilder, do check him out.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

Go through the presonus website before using Studio one and I recommend reading the queries asked by others on the platform cause they post a lot of doubts that you might be having.

Presonus is is quick in its responses

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While using Pro tools I often get this message saying: CPU overload error occurred

You never get the above message with studio one. Never crashes on you.

Even if it does it easier to start the software fast again.

Unlike pro tools it takes very less time to load

  ### 15. Studio One saves me time and makes my records sound better.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew P. | Music Producer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

I am an avid user of the sleek workflow and easy to use plugin bank. The color coding and general ease of layout are excellent. Also, when I track vocals, I truly love the grouping and folder function - it helps keep my workflow organized and easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

The first thing I dislike is where the hot-keys are located. I have a tendency to activate certain hot keys while I use my QWERTY midi-keyboard. The bus/fx routing also takes a lot of CPU on my device, so I have to be careful with how much routing I do - which is a pain sometimes.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

Know if you want to build your DAW on mac or windows. This might now be the right fit if you are MIDI intensive or producing mostly electronic music. I would also suggest building a library of external VSTs.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Studio One helps me solve the problem of needing a portable, sleek and well rounded DAW for recording, post production and mastering. The mastering suite is actually a big highlight I forgot to mention.

  ### 16. Makes a beginner feel like a professional!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** AKASH ANIL 1. | College Graduate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

User-friendly interface: It just took me an hour to understand the basics of the DAW. Looks like a complex system, but once you get it, you seriously get it!!

Built-in Melodyne: Melodyne is just ctrl+M. Best for people who do a lot with vocal tuning.

Event FX: Drag and drop function, you select any effect and add it to your channel.

Stock Plugins: The stock plugins, are too good especially if you get Studio one 3 or 4 for free along with a Presonus product.

The Fat channel plugin is an amazing all-in-one option for beginners as well as professionals who want to EQ, compressor, etc.

Upgrades are worthy of the name: Studio one 5 is way better than the 4. Every upgrade adds more depth

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Moderately High CPU usage.
Free versions do not have a VST3 plugin option

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

Do not watch Youtube videos to learn about Studio one, do your own trials.

If you feel that Studio one is tough to understand, try another DAW and you will know you have been blessed with Studio one

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Low latency: I was facing huge latency while recording vocals in software like Pro tools. Studio one never gave me any latency, through the studio monitors

Studio one has never crashed, while other DAWS have. Seamlessly working since day one.

Track folders: Since I record vocals a lot, I have a lot of folders, Studio one helps in organizing your tracks easily

Cost is significantly cheap when compared to other DAWS

  ### 17. Literally the best DAW, converted decade-plus FL Studio and ProTools producers to it.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jann M. | Alpha Lantern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

We're coming to a time where basically every DAW on the market has added features for many editions, covering whatever people are missing and what the competition is doing. If a feature is missing, you can be damn certain that a gang of VSTs will be waiting to surround you, punch you lifeless, take your money and fill the void. So for a review to be worthwhile, the most important features unique to this DAW must be put to light. The workflow here is incredible, key commands are easy to learn and quick to customize and I can put down drum machine beats through the keyboard or Maschine or midi controller lightning fast. The way you can split these bars with the "grid" feature is stupid rad if you make hip hop. Also, it almost never crashes. I don't have to bounce my tracks very much, even with nice plugin chains (at 32 RAM which is ok). even latency when playing guitar is minimal here. External sound card dropped in the mix and you can just go home and pee your pants, bro.
also this might sound extremely pleb but idc - the colors are bright and easy to navigate. I literally chose this DAW when I didn't know anything about production because it had the prettiest colors (Studio one 3). they get even prettier with each edition. IDK how!! I thought I knew what colors looked like but I guess I'm a chump. Much like you, reading this. Since you probably don't have it.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Almost nothing. Maybe add some synths, its not super strong on virtual instruments. But there are 666 VSTs dying to rob you blind so have at it.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

100% THE BEST DAW YOU CAN GET RIGHT NOW

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pro Tools has a workflow that... leaves something to be desired to me. This just crushes it in speed and .. whatever the word is that describes this software as an old, well worn glove you've had since being a teen. Old faithful glovey. But its all new and the best thing you own and you neglect your girlfriend to play with it.

  ### 18. Studio One Review

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sal S. | Guitarist/vocalist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

At first, the workflow...each successive update moved further and further away from user friendly to studio user only friendly.
I am a LIVE MUSIC Performer and used it for the backing tracks required in high pay venues for cover bands.

But, unfortunately, they have the studio musician in mind and give zero cares about the rest of us.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Excellent at creating midi to control external midi devices and external instruments.
BUT IT SUCKS BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT EXPORT THAT MIDI WITH STEMS OR A MIXDOWN...so you have to RE REWRITE the midi every time you use the song.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

If you're home musician making your own music....ABSOLUTELY GET THIS..unless you want to pay a fortune to learn to CORRECTLY use Pro Tools.
if you're a live musician..stay as far away from this software as possible

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Now none because I had to switch to Reaper.

  ### 19. A very good DAW if you have time to learn/switch

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elena A. | Mix & Mastering Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

There's a lot of useful shortcuts compared to other programs, which made a much faster workflow which is usually a big bonus if you're a busy producer/engineer. The Aux channel feature for hardware makes things streamline and easy to integrate. The mix recall feature is great as you can have 2 drum mixes and just switch between to instantly hear the difference! There's a mono button to check your mix from stereo which I liked a lot.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

I disliked that it was a bit overwhelming to use to begin with. It's quite a bit more technical than what I'm used to which for some people is helpful but I usually like more simpler layouts. I didn't have enough time to fully get used to it in the trial period. The older versions didn't stand out to me aesthetically (colours etc). Not many tutorials out there yet compared to other DAWS.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

I think for those considering using Studio One they should figure out their needs and what they're going to be using it for certain aspects of the music business it can more beneficial (in my opinion) than others. Mix & Mastering wise it can be very fast providing you use it enough to get used to it. Unfortunately people like to stick to what they already know as learning a new DAW can be time consuming. I also think the programme has a lot of future because they take into consideration and respond to users needs.
Studio one isn't good at utilising apple hardware as well so take that into consideration.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Work flow when mixing and mastering. Potential to be faster than logic/pro tools when you get the hang of it. Piano roll includes a music theory feature which is really useful.
The ''Project'' section allows you to master a whole project at once which is super helpful too. Having Melodyne built into it already is also a big bonus.

  ### 20. Studio One 5 is a very well rounded DAW.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rico G. | Membership Growth Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

I can produce records from scratch, mix and master in Presonus S5, and the sound engine is very high quality. And I can throw a truckload of VST's at it and Studio One eats them all up and the drag and drop features are what brought me over from Pro Tools.

I've been on Studio One since v1.5.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Honestly, there is really only one negative about Presonus S5, at least from my perspective, you can't export your score along with the picture as an MP4. That's literally the only feature S5 is missing, for those of us that score films and tv shows.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

Try it, and see for yourself.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems I have solved is getting faster with my workflow during studio sessions, and the benefits of being able to drop and drop vst's is beneficial to your time.

  ### 21. Intuitive, fast and with lots of resources

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rui A. | Music Producer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

Fast and intuitive editing tools. Accurate timestretch algorithms. Clean and organized Layouts.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

I'm a big sampler user, and both Sample One and Impact fail to meet my purposes. So I have to use third party plugins.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As it is a multi OS DAW I use it to teach my students because it's powerful yet pretty user friendly. And for those who are starting having a free version to begin with is really helpful.

  ### 22. Studio One Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jack M. | Producer / Recording and Mixing Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

I feel like Studio One has taken the best bits from multiple DAW's and blended them together. It is an easy to use, intuitive software that has most options laid out in front of you. For example, setting up new busses and aux fx channels is so simple, it has dramatically increased my workflow. I come from a Pro Tools background and I have noticed an increase of speed through to completion of a project.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

I have noticed occasional bugs in the software. Sometimes depending if you are working completely in the box, I have to be a little more smart with insert choices as my cpu seems to run out quicker than on other DAW's.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Benefits mainly are just increasing workflow speed, which is a huge benefit for me.

  ### 23. Best DAW for any level

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Salai Pome H. | Team Leader, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

Overall I like studio one for everything that they create. It is all in one DAW recording, mixing, live, and mastering.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

There is no downside for me at the moment. But if they could make an auto tempo detection option.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

Just try it you will love it.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to convert audio bit rate using the pool, I don't need another software to create DDP or even I can burn CD directly from Studio one projects. It's just to name a few.

  ### 24. Studio One is User-Friendly and Comprehensive

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Howard G. | MC, Producer, & Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

Studio One offers valuable mixing, mastering, and production tools while providing a concise workspace. Tools are easy to toggle through, and I enjoy the high-quality plugins at my disposal.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

When I compare Studio One to other DAWs, I cannot find anything I dislike. I enjoy the combination of style and usability Studio One offers.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

If you are a producer that also values vocal mixing software, Studio One will offer the perfect blend. Studio One is easy to use with VSTs and files from other programs, and it has the editing tools I recommend the highest.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Studio One provides information in a more clear way than other DAWs, allowing me to both learn and work more quickly. Studio One's high-quality production, mixing, and mastering capabilities place it second-to-none in terms of sound quality. The user-friendly tool bar saves valuable time when editing audio.

  ### 25. Post processing wise, it is hard to visually gauge the before and after effects on the audio signal.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

The sound samples in the library. There are ample of voices to select from.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Post processing wise, it is hard to visually gauge the before and after effects on the audio signal. I have to completely rely on ear training and had to replay the parts many times. Also, there is no easy tool to detect noise profile.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

The software can only be opened when you have it connected with the daw (and the headphjne connected through the daw). You cannot playback through normal speaker or your machine’s audio jack.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing much. I am still learning to use the software. There are plenty of things to learn that I often gets paralyzed in learning it.

  ### 26. A Great Option

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott M. | Legal Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

I feel it's intuitive, has all the effects I need, functions well with few bugs, and makes the workflow more pleasant. Also, it has a separate mastering station, which is just awesome!

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

The saving functions are a bit confusing. There are different types of saves, and you should learn how they each work. One setting will not actually add recorded material to a file. I've lost important work once because of this confusion.

Sometimes when I update it, my MIDI files change and required fixing. Not sure why, maybe it's just me, but I'm afraid to update now. I haven't investigated this or checked to see if this bug has been fixed, though.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

Take the time to learn the functions. It'll be much easier if you do.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Benefits - good effects, ease of workflow, lots of options, and powerful software. It can handle all of my files with tons and tons of tracks.

  ### 27. Great Software, First Software I used to record music!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Siddhartha S. | Technical Recruiter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

Easy to record, have enough mods for creating the right environment while making music. Different variations can be applied with software integrations like Arturia. There are plenty of options for distortion, reverb, delay and more audio editing and producing guitar music. There are custom pedal boards we can use and also customize one of our own for getting the perfect tone for our songs. There are some inbuilt drum loops and an easily programmable tool to to make your own drum loop with all the sounds. Overall, it is very exciting to use and incredible output as well when it syncs. We have sound modifiers for better quality as well for the overall output but if you are a pro you are going to need some other filters as well to go along with it for heavier sounds.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Sometimes you do not get the quality you would expect from your music. While recording heavy metal you get a lot of noise in the background which is hard to get rid of. The best way is to create or choose the right pedal board setting and set the pedals according to the tone and pace of the music. The overall audio quality of the recording also degrades slightly after extracting the file in the desired format.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

It is a great software if you want to start recording on your own at an affordable price. It comes with other mods like Arturia, Presonus headphones and audio box. It is a great pick especially if you are starting out in this field of sound engineering.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am creating a progressive metal album to explore and learn more about music. I got a Presonus Audiobox which came with Studio One. I record guitar mostly with studio one and it has been fun doing so. Sometimes creating drum patterns for the required tempo can be tedious with the software specially when you are using odd time signature moves.

  ### 28. Plenty of Juice in the Box

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darius T. | Sound Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

I like the implementation and logistical order in workflow, how effects are engaged and routed within the bus system of the software.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

I think the overall iPad UI could be more improved and behave more like UC Surface

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am currently mixing a single for several artists, as demos. The interface makes collaboration with the artist in real time a breeze. I have found the IEM bussing to be much more intuitive than Protools or Logic, making in time monitoring easier to configure.

  ### 29. My favourite DAW

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yarku J. | Live Sound Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

Hey, I am Yarku, composer, producer and mixing engineer.
I was working in many DAW’s - fl studio, cubase, protools, and I have to say, that Studio One is my favourite. Design, workflow, interface - it inspire me so much! And new live mode and other features from last version are amazing, I bought it and very happy ;)

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Sometimes it’s crushing, this is a biggest problem for me.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mixing / mastering, production etc. Amazing melodyne integration and many other features

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

I like how robust Studio One's features are for both beginners and advanced users.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

The learning curve for Studio One could be very steep but it is worth learning.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

If you have MIDI controllers or instruments and you just want to play music, Studio One can also help you with that.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Studio One for creating scores for film as well as soundtrack and sound effects for videogames.

  ### 31. Writing Your Music With Studio One Pro?

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dana S. | Film Composer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

Studio One has a layout that feels friendly, logical and intuitive, not forced upon you. Especially the whole drag and drop functionality of it, makes things so much quicker for creating. Lots of things you can choose from by menu. But not a cluttered GUI, nor are there a million and one menus and sub-menus you need to select in order to complete common tasks.

And of course, it is multi-processor capable. So the more cores you run, the more Studio One can utilize each one of those threads for running everything in real-time.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

It can be a little lacking in reserving CPU Processor resources at times. But then again, I'm currently using Studio One Pro v3. So things may have improved in version 4. Not really that much of a complaint. I'm currently running a Xeon E5-2680 v2. as of this review; 5.26.2020

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

I think Studio One is a phenomenal DAW to use for getting any of your music production, recording, and composing needs completed at any time. Besides the fact that it is OS X & Windows compatible, it has extensive midi tools and capabilities for anyone that needs advanced midi programming/sequencing options for their music.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quicker overall workflow for thematic ideas as a composer. I primarily compose for soundtracks/trailers, although I can produce regular songs & instrumentals as well.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

Integration of other softwares i.e. amphire and melodine runs really well.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

The Quantizing seems really robotic. A bit humanistic quantize would be Nicer.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

It's a great platform for mixing audio tracks. Integration of VSTs are great too.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly my music mixing and editing. Recording voice and acoustic instruments is really easy using studio one.

use melodyne easer and converting to midi ,

  ### 36. Great and Stable DAW

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carey R. | Sales Executive, Cloud Renewals, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

Love the beautiful interface and the stock plugins sound amazing!

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

It would be nice if Presonus offered more high quality virtual instruments like Logic Pro X.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

It's a great platform that reminds me a lot of Logic Pro. What I like most is that it is available both on Mac & PC so you're not locked into one system.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a songwriter but I don't play too many instruments. SO 5 allows me to use virtual instruments to birth my ideas so that musicians can play them later.

  ### 37. Easy to integrate your workflow

  ### 38. Studio One

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rusi K. | Research And Administrative Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

Studio One is user friendly compared to other DAW's that I have used. It's quite good as it can be used by a starter as well as a professional.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

There were times when I couldn't find explanatory videos on some topics.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

Easy to use and works wonders compared to other DAW's

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Music production in an easy setting. Well I started as a novice and tried many DAW's but couldn't hang on to one until Studio One

  ### 39. Great DAW for working with finished audio. Amazing for anyone with a PreSonus Mixing board.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chance N. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

what I love the most is that with my mixer anything I want to do is able to be done both physically and digitally so everything displayed on my screen is already set on my mixer and I can switch between more hands on production or more focused precision production. I also love the way studio one allows you to organize

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

It’s very difficult to pick up without any help

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

Great for studios, Electronic music, and working with finished audio files. However if you want a DAW to make music with than I’d suggest Logic Pro or Ableton

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I no longer have to worry about clients whose projects are set up specific to studio one. it’s the best way to take a full advantage of a PreSonus mixer

  ### 40. A daw worth having

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor J. | Music producer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2018

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

I love the interface, the easy cut through stems and tracks, the automated cross and fades (ins and out) and how easy it is to integrate a plugin or amp simulator over a track

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

It might be a bit difficult to load some vst if they don't have the compatibility with the software but is reasonable taking in account that the integrated vst and plugins are enough to make a professional work over your mix and masters.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

To anyone working with studio one I would recommend having a second software at hand, it does not matter if its open source or paid, but you would probably, as in cokos reaper, need a second daw to do some cuts in the audio tracks, or cleaning-de noise if you happen to have a bad recording coming through your daw

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving my mixing and master, which making them in other daws can be a bit difficult, the benefits are the integrated templates for such purpose, so cleaning a vocal o enhancing an instrument in the mix is really easy to achieve in comparison with other software.

  ### 41. Powerful DAW and Production tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andreas S. | Director of Media Services, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2018

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

The UI/UX and workflow is fast and natural. It just makes sense. The editor provides amazing utility. Routing and access to effects and tools is logical and elegant.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Nothing is a deal-breaker. More asset management tools would be nice.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

Try the free demo. The last three updates have added massive tools for music production. The editor and interface on the whole just allow you to get your sound produced quickly without having to wonder which menu to use. The interface and workflow alone are worth a look.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's replaced my DAW and allows me to avoid Adobe Audition.

  ### 42. Best DAW out there

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Billy W. | Co Owner, Music, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

I live that it's not an eye soar. It's simple and modern. Doesn't really feel analog to me, and works best with my work flow

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

I wish it had better CPU managment. But it got bad

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was able to get 4 copies

  ### 43. An Intuitive DAW

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin G. | Laboratory Manager, Music, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2018

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

Out of the DAWs I have used, StudioOne is the easiest to learn and makes workflow as simple as possible, and still produces high quality sound.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

My only criticism of Studio One is the video player, as often videos do not load unless converted to not have sound, after extracting the sound into the program.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

Just try it out, and forget everything you know about DAWs. If it feels like you should be able to do something, in StudioOne, you can do it.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

StudioOne streamlines DAW work, and enables one to create music without being impeded by unnecessary steps. This concise UI allows for faster work, so that more time can be spent analyzing and improving the music.

  ### 44. One of THE MOST POWERFUL Digital Audio Workstation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

The range of functions you have available from making or adding digital soundtracks to editing recorded music, this is the go to software for professional editing and composing. The software has a huge library of different digital sounds that could be very useful. For the range of functions this software provides, it's relatively easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

It could look a little intimidating at first for beginners but I would say I have thoroughly enjoyed the program and have not had a single problem.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

If you want a good software to work with music, I can't think of one that can be so simplistic with the functionality it provides.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I record and compose music and this software has helped make my life easier and better. After getting used to the software, it's incredibly fast to get your work done and if you know exactly what you need, the software is luxurious to use.

  ### 45. DAW for the new era

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew B. | Self employed, Performing Arts, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2017

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

First to market with a 64bit audio summing engine, modern 64bit memory address space, professional tools that meet or exceed what the competition provides and workflows that are perfectly suited to traditional multitrack recording & mixing all the way to the esoteric fringes of electronic music & beyond.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

There isn't much i dislike about studio one, the only thing I know of that it truly lacks is support for sysex & nrpn messages, which are necessary for gear that either predates the midi era or requires a precision that goes beyond what the midi spec provides.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

The pace of progress since v1 is reassuring, and the complement of audio interface and technologies like rednet from Focusrite shows that they are an industry leader committed to supporting this platform for a long long time.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Studio one offers a complete workflow for traditional multitrack recording, audio post production & personal remixes done for enjoyment as a DJ.

  ### 46. The best DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) software on the market is subjective and depends on individual needs and preferences. Popular options include Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro X, and Pro Tools. Each offers unique features and capabilities for music production.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2018

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

ARA access and Melodyne integration is essential for what I do. Studio One does it better than anybody else.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

I wish it could easily import or export Pro Tools sessions. MIDI and control surface support (EUCON, specifically) could be better.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a way to organize and quickly edit and mix multiple sessions for several groups I work with. Studio One's editing and session management tools are unparalleled, and they save me time when I have a client waiting.

  ### 47. Good for Media Production

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2018

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

The ability to efficiently mix sound and music helps to create promos easily.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Nothing to report as of now, this program is working efficiently for our purposes.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to produce a lot more promos and explore with different sound effects.

  ### 48. On par with other DAWs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

It's comparable to other DAWs I've used. It's an easy transition coming from Ableton, Pro Tools, etc.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Not as many people are using this software. Most of my colleagues are familiar with the ones that set the standard.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's simple to use and causes less headaches. I was having some glitch problems with Ableton. When recording, every minute counts. Studio One has definitely saved me some time.

  ### 49. Brilliant

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hammy H. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2017

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

The ability to remotely control Studio One from another Windows device such as a Surface, making full use of the touchscreen. It also works well with even cheap Android tablets, and iPads. It also works well with phones, allowing you to control levels etc from the vocal booth to taste.

I also love the Melodyne integration; it's fast become one of my most used tools for sound design and pitch correction.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

Needs a peer-to-peer collaborative system similar to what Bitwig 2 was meant to bring. If PreSonus could bring a free peer-to-peer collaboration system to Studio One then it would be industry changing.

Could do with integration of industry standard timecode for the video player; this would make Studio One absolutely amazing for scoring TV and film.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

If you want something superior to Logic that will serve you well from composition to recording to mastering then you'll love Studio One.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly, and efficiently creating an audio workflow that works seamlessly between Windows and OS X (
we're divided currently).

  ### 50. I am Worship Leader, free lance producer and Solo Artist.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2017

**What do you like best about Studio One?**

The Ability to mix in a clutter-free DAW. You can make your mixing and tracking process as complicated or as simple as you like. It is my go-to for Mixing.

**What do you dislike about Studio One?**

What I dislike most about Studio one is the editing for virtual instruments and midi. It does not give you an individual mixing screen per VST instrument and can get tedious when editing through the interface.

**Recommendations to others considering Studio One:**

I Recommend for ease of use in a mixing environment. You can open all VST Software for a single track at one time by switching the tabs located at the top of the editor.

**What problems is Studio One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Studio One is affordable and is as productive as Logic Pro or Pro Tools. It put's out the same quality in audio as any Professional DAW.
