## GarageBand Reviews
 ### 1. Creativity Unleashed with GarageBand

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rafael A. | Sales Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

I like that GarageBand offers a wide variety of instruments and allows you to fully explore your creativity. I think it's great that you can save your works and export them in different audio formats, as well as have the opportunity to try out multiple music genres. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy since it was already pre-installed on my iPhone.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

The app doesn't take up much storage. Perhaps one could compress the size of the app or not download all parts at once, but only those that are used or selected, such as the different instruments.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GarageBand offers many different instruments and creative possibilities. I can save my works, export them in various audio formats, and try out different music genres. I really enjoy using it in my free time.

 ### 2. GarageBand Feels Like Home Before It Feels Small

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shaktiraj G. | Search Engine Optimization Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

GarageBand feels like that one app you open without thinking when an idea comes. It is simple but not shallow. As a producer I like how fast it lets me start. No setup stress. Just open and play something.

The sounds are actually usable. The pianos feel warm. The drum kits are clean. Even the synths can give you a proper track if you layer them right. For someone producing from home in India this matters a lot because you may not have expensive plugins.

Recording is easy. Plug a mic or guitar and it just works. No confusion. That helps when you are working alone and doing everything yourself.

What I personally like is how it teaches you without teaching you. You start understanding EQ compression and arrangement just by using it. It does not scare beginners but it still respects your ideas.

It is also very stable. You do not worry about crashes in the middle of a session. That peace of mind is important when you are creating late at night.

Of course it has limits. You cannot go too deep like high end DAWs. But for writing composing and even finishing simple tracks it does the job really well.

Overall it feels honest. Not flashy. Just a solid tool that helps you make music without overthinking.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

GarageBand can feel limited once you grow as a producer. At first it is smooth but later you start missing control.

The mixing options are basic. You get EQ and compression but not the level of detail you may want for polishing a track properly.

Plugin support is restricted compared to bigger DAWs. You cannot build complex chains or experiment deeply with sound design.

Arrangement can feel tight. Handling large projects with many layers becomes messy and slow.

The sound library is good but not huge. After some time you start hearing the same tones again and again.

Automation exists but it is not very flexible. Fine adjustments take more effort than they should.

Export and mastering options are also simple. You cannot do a full professional finish without moving to another software.

Overall it starts feeling like a stepping stone. Good for ideas but not always enough for final production.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GarageBand removes the need for expensive setup. You do not need a studio to start making music.

It solves the problem of complexity. You are not stuck learning a heavy DAW before creating your first track.

It helps capture ideas quickly. When a melody comes you can record it instantly without delay.

It gives you ready sounds. You do not have to search or buy plugins in the beginning.

It simplifies recording. Vocals instruments everything can be tracked without technical confusion.

It reduces technical barriers. You focus more on music and less on routing or system setup.

It makes learning production natural. You understand basics like EQ and arrangement while working.

It is reliable. You do not lose time fixing crashes or bugs.

Overall it solves the problem of starting and finishing music without overthinking tools.

 ### 10. GarageBand is always present in my sound creations.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

 ### 11. So easy a cave man can do it (Sorry Geico)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert F. | Host and podcast producer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2024

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

It is very intuitive and easy to use. If you need help with anything, chances are several folks have a video on YouTube showing you how.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

It can do so many things I don't even know about yet.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to record narration and edit tracks for a podcast. I usually use five tracks: narrator's voice, intro music, outdo music, host track, and guest track. When I'm done it exports everything as a single .wav file.

 ### 12. A solid intro to collaborating on intro-intermediate sound editing and collab

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Iyer A. | Business Development Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2024

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

Being able to integrate, upload, and export across all apple suites and platform tech is INCREDIBLY convenient even when not using inherently just apple products. Also integrates with several major platforms outside of apple products, and intuitive to use. Great for keeping tracks in line with each other. In short, this has a very high ease of implementation for apple users. The customer support is solid, in that you can go to a genius bar or lean on apple's massive support network. When I worked heavier in content creation, I had a very high frequency of use for this (3 times a day minimum).

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

Limited synergy with non apple products / software. it's not a glaring issue, but one that is a bit of a constant hamper when working with other people not using GB. Sometimes this software can cause the CPU to freeze/reboot. Constantly saving your progress is a must. Also as stated in the primary review, this is a intro level software.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Garage band gives me an intuitive and easy to use media/music management and editing software. It's wonderful for working with others that also use Garage Band, and can export/import easily. This allows me to complete quick work with a medium-low skill level which is perfect as I'm more in the final end of things vs creating the actual music. It's a far cry from the EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE professional software, but this is still used by many professionals in the music industry, it by no means is an "incomplete" or insufficient product unless the focus of the project is entirely music quality and editing. Then you might need to scale up.

 ### 13. Most Convenient & Beginner friendly app for Music Making

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Durga Shankar D. | Ui/Ux Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

When I want to create music on a sudden go or at a moment where i don't have any instruments, this GarageBand app helped me alot to lock my tune. The most impressive thing in this app is, it sound's accurate as real Instrument. So i can Implement my tunes & edit them whenever or wherever i want and even i use it frequent it responded very well.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

Garageband has most of the features such as music recording, Mixing, audio editing on Mac. but the feature we all users want is bring it to Playstore and Windows. because most of the phone users in india are android and they use windows laptops. Need to focus more on integration in features section on mobile app.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since my College days, i was more intrested in Music. But there are No Music Instruments Available. My friend who plays Guitar suggested me to search any app that help me to tune my music making. I tried many apps on App store and found correct choice with GarageBand. i learned how to use and it's Accuracy on real Sound was amazing. My friend was shocked when i showed him my music peice from GarageBand, he said it is like Cinematic and sounds Marvellous.

 ### 14. The easiest and most fun music making software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** NerdyPunk L. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

The thing I like the most about garageband are the integrated synts, the sounds are really top notch and it doesnt feel like a free software. I have started using it with my interface easily and adding voice effects to whatever singing I have recorded is really easy. Havent really asked for support as the software is really easy to use. I use it every week and has been my go to DAW for many years now.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

Sometimes it starts lagging a bit when I am using a high number of tracks
It would be cool if it also had some of the effects that Logic Pro has even if it doesnt have the same synth library

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its helping me on composition of my videogame soundtrack but I also have been using it to edit recorded audio for my Youtube videos. I've also used it live a couple times to play with a midi controller.

 ### 15. Garage Band is more than Adequate for your Audio Creation Needs

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joel O. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2024

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

I like the way in which Garage band breaks down the complex world of audio production into easy to use elements. However as you get more knowlegeable the software really does grow with you. Just by changing your views you unlock new features that help you do more with the software.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

You do eventually reach a limit of the software. The most obvious one here is the limitations on plugins available to use. If you are using professional software like Logic you have even more features available. However for the basic user this is something they can grow into.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a fairly powerful software in an easy to use package. Perfect for beginners or those who only need basic audio editing capabilities.

 ### 16. A Powerful and Accessible Music Creation Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shobhit G. | Product Manager, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

As a music enthusiast and occasional composer, GarageBand has been my go-to software for creating music effortlessly. What I appreciate most about GarageBand is its intuitive interface coupled with a robust set of tools that cater to both beginners and seasoned musicians alike. The simplicity of the layout allows for quick familiarization, making it an ideal platform for newcomers diving into music production.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

There are a few areas where GarageBand could improve. The software might feel limiting for advanced users seeking more intricate controls or additional plugins for fine-tuning their compositions. Moreover, while the software provides a wide range of presets and effects, having more customizable options for sound manipulation could enhance its appeal to more seasoned musicians.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whether it's crafting simple melodies or arranging complex compositions, GarageBand's user-friendly interface and comprehensive set of tools make the music creation process enjoyable and efficient.

 ### 17. Music making for beginners

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria Montserrat B. | Senior Recruitment Consultant - Digital Marketing (Germany), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

Garageband is a very useful tool when bringing your musical ideas into life. I use it in both my macbook air and my iphone, and it is very easy to understand how to create a beat and add instruments. You can download different instruments and mix them up. You can also record your voice or any other instruments. It also allows me to connect my M-Audio Oxygen to make it easy for me to play and record sounds.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

It is not as robust as other tools I have used (Abelton, FL Studio, Logic Pro), but it is very user friendly. It is good for quick beats creation.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have created many jingles for many clients, fro which Garage Band has been very useful. Their sound gallery has many options which has allow me to be creative and create many rhytms.

 ### 18. Review on Garage Band

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hubab K. | Associate Technical Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2024

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

GarageBand's simplicity and versatility make it a standout tool for music creation. Its user-friendly interface, extensive instrument library, and powerful features cater to both beginners and experienced musicians, fostering creativity and enabling the production of high-quality music.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

GarageBand's downsides include limited advanced editing capabilities, fewer virtual instruments compared to professional software, and some constraints for experienced users. Its simplicity may be a drawback for those seeking more complex features in music production.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GarageBand addresses the need for accessible music creation, offering a user-friendly platform for aspiring musicians. It benefits me by providing a convenient and cost-effective way to experiment with music production, fostering creativity without requiring extensive technical knowledge or expensive equipment.

 ### 19. Quick way to get creative ideas down fast

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul M. | Owner, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

Easy to use interface - simple to setup tracks and record. You can also share projects between desktop and ipad/iphone so this makes it easy to transfer from one device to another to get finer-grained editing on more powerful hardware when required.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

The version of GB on the destkop and iPad/iPhone must match - if they get out of sync then you can't share projects. Opening the project with the most recent version of the software will upgrade the project and then you can't run it on the older devices.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recording my own songs - I can start laying down basic song structures using the built-in loops, and then adding tracks as I compose them.

 ### 20. Ease of use like you have your own sound engineering studio

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ricky D. | IT Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

It's super intuitive that even a non-sound engineer can use to enhance their sound mixes . I like how it already integrates a metronome to facilitate how to wave up the beats as well as a pre-built set of wonderful effects as if you have your own mixer and amplifier.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

Hmm, I don't necessarily dislike but maybe suggestions for improvement like it would be great to utilize intutive buttons that would easily allow me to know at first glance if an effect is added and also, would be great if effects are easily set up with a duration parameter for more user control.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They optimize my sounds to quality and makes my rhythms to easily recognize if there are problems to my chord progressions since I can just add beats and hoops. Also, it is already built-in in my Macbook so it's like having an ultimate sound studio 🥰

 ### 21. Garageband is an effective and free DAW for Mac Users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paulo D. | Compliance & Risk Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

Ease of use, straightforward display and UI, interoperability with other music software plug ins. It's essentially a stripped down version of Logic Pro, but it's still an amazing tool that is a great option for beginners or anyone working with a limited budget for DAWs.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

Limitations around the amount of plug ins you can use per audio track (at least this was the case in some older versions of Garageband). Lack of ability to export individual tracks and exporting as certain filetypes is not available (e.g. WAV files).

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Garageband allows me to quickly sequence, mix and even complete rough masters of audio, whether it be songs, podcasts, or other types of audio files.

 ### 22. A simple yet powerful music creation tool.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James M. | Freelance Graphic Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2024

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

I enjoy how simple GarageBand is to pick up from a beginner viewpoint. As someone who used to teach beginners how to use man Apple software packages, it was extremely easy for students young and old to create something.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

While GarageBand does have a lot of very straightforward features, it's lacking more complex features like allowing you to use a large number of tracks.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While I personally did not earn money from the results of garage band, I was able to utilize it from an education perspective to get customers excited about being able to create their own music easily.

 ### 23. Garage band is an awesome recording software for indie musicians

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tara B. | Music Consultant/Entertainer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2020

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

I love that not only is it easy to record, edit and move tracks and parts of tracks around, it's also user friendly and intuitive--logical! I love that it comes with Mac computers and that I didn't have to go purchase something extra! I've already used it on a regular basis for doing a podcast and making recordings of songs to sell! I can easily set up an audio interface with it for recording vocals and my piano plugged in. I can adjust volume levels throughout the track and I can move tracks easily together without getting them out of sin.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

I wish that it had a little better way of EQing. I feel like it only gives room for some ways of doing it. I also wish that it didn't take so much energy on my computer to use it--tends to make it hot. And other softwares generally don't do that.

I don't know if their actual sounds are that great to use--especially strings. They can sound cheap and not real. I also don't find it easy to find the tools to countdown for a recording and have playback while you are recording another track. It's there but it isn't easy to locate without tutorial help. Same with exporting a project.

**Recommendations to others considering GarageBand:**

If you are a musician just starting out in recording or podcasting, this is your ticket! I used to use Audacity and found this tool so much more user friendly.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can record my weekly podcast with it. Also, I can take online gigs for voiceovers and singing! Basically, it gives me the freedom to record from home! Since it is included on apple products, its amazing to be able to use it for free. I couldn't do the music biz without this product.

 ### 24. My First and Best, Preferred Music Editor/Mixer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nydia Stephany R. | Freelance Graphic Designer & Photographer (Short Term Projects), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

I've used Garageband since the early days of Apple, from 2007 (Macbook) to 2023 (iPad Pro. The changes made to the application have improved, if not brought up my music production time. I really enjoy being able to connect my Piano to my laptop or iPad Pro via MIDI cable and create songs using different keyboard sounds, or use the notes on my piano to emulate sounds from other instruments such as percussion instruments, guitars, FX, and Synth effects such as Bass, Leads, and Synth Pads. As for benefits, I've gone ahead and listed them below:

- Live Piano Recording with Feedback (Piano or instrument Audio plays right on the device it's connected to).
- Vocal recording effects (The ability to tune a voice with special effects or apply effects to tune out background noise, mic noise, etc)
-Great ability to mix and play around with loop sound options built into Garageband. (Free and paid options available)

In addition to the above details, I have used this both for personal and professional projects, ranging from portfolio work for my university animation projects to commercial audio for clients.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

On the Macbook, it's much easier to record piano sections while the first recording is playing (Say, if you want to play a complicated piano accompaniment to overlap the main piano song, vocals, etc.) On the iPad, it's much harder. You have to switch between track recording options and it won't let you record a piano track accompaniment over the main song. Therefore, you'd have to get the timing just right in order to record a song with complicated sections of music on it. (For Ipad)

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Garageband allows me to record my sounds and music from a MIDI cable with no complications (and little to no setup difficulty). I've tested and tried other music editing software such as Music Maker, but the setup time and MIDI Setup difficulty is far more than with Garageband. I enjoy the sound effect options offered to me with Garageband too, allowing me to make full music tracks. I've also changed the octave for my vocals to create tracks with harmony. This saves me time in having to sing all the parts when I can edit the pitch with the click of a button.

 ### 25. More Advanced Than You Think

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor P. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2024

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

GarageBand comes bundled with every Mac, so you don't have to buy it separately. It has a wide variety of audio-processing tools, and a liibrary of prerecorded music and audio samples to use in your own projects.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

It still has a significant learnig curve for non-musicians such as myself.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I occasionally record various narrations for my SoundCloud channel, and I find GarageBand's built-in tools for audio processing really handy for improving the sound of my spoken word recordings before I upload them.

 ### 26. For over 15 years, I've been using GarageBand for a variety of projects

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** shawnessey c. | Resource Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

For basic audio recording and editing, GarageBand is very user-friendly and easy to access. I use the platform to record original songs, edit podcast episodes, and even record and edit a children's audio book.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

Most of my issues with using GarageBand have turned out to be user errors.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have needed to perform quick editing on podcast episodes to publish finished products in a short amount of time. With the ease of using GarageBand, especially on a laptop, I can quickly edit and produce a good-sounding audio recording.

 ### 27. Musics in your pocket

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shovon K. | Business Analyst & Sales Force Automation Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

I am a mobile user of the application in my iPhone and using this app for 5 years plus. Although I don't know most of the instruments functionality but it is so easy and reach in musics that i enjoy playing and making musics with it.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

Honestly speaking, I like this app from top to bottom, and sometimes i think i wish i could know most of it. I could create more.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a fun thing. Musics makes people calm and happy, whenever i create something good, it helps me to feel better.

 ### 28. Baby's first digital audio workstation should always be GarageBand

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2024

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

GarageBand is Apple's free introductory digital audio workstation which allows you to record audio such as vocals and instruments, apply effects, use virtual instruments such as incredibly realistic digital recreations of famous synthesizers from history, and mix and arrange audio and MIDI tracks into songs. It also provides great tools for working with audio loops, and for performances. GarageBand is an amazing piece of software considering it is aimed at amateurs and is free on Apple's platforms.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

It is only available on Apple's platforms. This is understandable, but it does reduce the size of the potential user base unfortunately.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GarageBand can be used not just to record and mix and arrange music or songs, but is also very useful for other audio uses such as recording and producing podcasts. We use Garageband to record and produce our weekly podcast, and it's a rock solid, easy to use, and economical solution for that purpose.

 ### 29. One of the simplest and most powerful DAWs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

For being a built-in Mac tool, it is robust and meets all the minimum requirements to set up a minimally viable home studio. There may be other more promising DAWs like Ableton Live or Logic Pro, also from Mac. But for being a free tool, with the possibility of working with MIDI, mini stereo audio, and applying filters or some plugin, you don't need to spend so much money on other software if you're starting in the music industry.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

Being free, nothing is turned down. There might be incompatibility with some plugins, but that doesn't take away from its versatility.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick audio editing for podcasts
Easy recording for music demos
Application of filters and effects
Sound design pre-Granados
Midi

 ### 30. Rock out!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brett L. | Marketing Director (Volunteer), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

Besides being a free app on Mac (and iPad) it is a super easy and intuitive tool for music production

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

It is a big file on the iPad so it takes up a fair bit of information. But nothing else I don't like.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love to create music in multiple genres (not as a professional, a hobbyist) and the fact that I have so many instruments available to me it is super easy and fun to create cool music.

 ### 31. Amazing music studio for everyone

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric S. | Craft Beer Buyer/Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

The ease of use of the charts. Hundreds of beats, instruments and sounds you can use to make your own song or even score a movie.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

For what it is, I honestly can't think of a bad thing or negative feature.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For an industry that was once only for a chosen few, it has leveled the playing field. Want to produce a professional level song and release it yourself? No problem.

 ### 32. Music Studio using Garageband

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miriam E. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2024

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

It is accessible and I can help my students put their creations into something they can listen to

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

Sometimes learning how to use it-but I figure it out!

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to provide a creative vehicle for student's work

 ### 33. Supporting guitarists in their creative expression

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trupti M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

The interface is very user-friendly and has a large music library database. The amp and sound effects are so realistic that it is a treat to use. Since I am an Apple user, the interface is so seamlessly integrated that it makes using this platform effortless. The Smart Guitar &MIDI functionality is something that is the upside.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

Limited advanced editing features is a drawback since slightly professional users may want more. SImilarly, since it is restricted to the Apple ecosystem, it becomes difficult to collaborate with users from outside the ecosystem.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Learning & implementation, cost-effective music compositions without investing in different kinds of amplifiers and stability in recording.

 ### 34. Imagination and creativity at your fingers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher P. | Systems Engineering Manager II Deputy, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2024

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

The one thing I love about GarageBand is the simplicity and the ability to take that creative imagination and truly create something fun and great.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

I think with most tools the add ons and the money for better tools costing more can be a burden. At times when you want to do more you necessarily don't really want to pay more. With so many tools at your disposal on other applications this really makes you question the usage.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Video editing and creating more fun antidotes

 ### 35. Simple Tool that Accomplishes Basic Audio Editing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** JC P. | Group Marketing Manager , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2024

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

On top of being very intuitive and useful, GarageBand is free to use if you are on MacOS, iOS, and iPadOS.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

There are some advanced controls and audio features and sound isolations that I wish can GarageBand can do.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a novice podcaster, I like that I am able to record and edit my podcast on GarageBand.

 ### 36. Garage Band is great for certain music recording options.. but not all.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob F. | Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

Garage Band is free and comes with all apple computers. The interface is user friendly and the recording options are great for the most part. It is a fun system and great for amateur recording on up. Its easy to use for the fun side of music creation and it can be used daily.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

The recording part of this software is not of a high quality. Its not at the advanced level that true music recording studios would want to use. It does not seem to be easy to integrate into the more advanced features of music recording.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Garage band helps with audio work that can be easily taken with you to a studio or reheasal. It can be used for creative means while on the go.

 ### 37. Garage band is great for music, ringtones and sfx

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adham H. | Senior Graphic Designer, Social Media Specialist, Photographer, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

I usually create sfx for videos on social media as will as ringtones and notes to add to my mac and iphone

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

I don't see anything that i dislike it actually depends on the usage of each person, but i do find myself lost in the recordings and where do i export ir edit

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ringtons and sfx for mac and iphone

 ### 38. Great software but has a HUGE learning curve!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandice L. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

Garage Band is highly professional and has so many features to make you sound like a professional!

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

Garage Band is highly tech heavy and requires a lot of learning to fully utlize. Much of it was over my head and I feel like I could do much better.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating complex audio with layers, fading in, fading out, etc.

 ### 39. Great app for music lovers and aspiring musicians!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

What I like about Garage band is the extensive library of virtual instruments. Compared to other apps that have limited access to different types of instruments, Garage band has a good library. I do not think there's anything in the market that comes close to what they have available. I also like the fact I can connect my own instruments directly to the app.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

The ability to add more unique sounds. While it's a large library, it can lack in more niche instruments from Asian origins. If you're developing a pop song in the top 40s, garage band would be able to do it. But if you're hosting a heritage night and need some more niche instruments, it would be difficult to do this with Garage band.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to teach music to someone that is tone-deaf and not really a music expert. It allows me to create music without spending large amounts of money for multiple instruments.

 ### 40. great program for musicians

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ebru E. | Laboratory Aide, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

GarageBand is a great program for both beginners and advanced musicians. it offers a variety of sound libraries you can use for your project, layering sounds and changing layers while editing is useful and creates an efficient environment to work productive

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

overall the settings and adjustments are very easy however it can be overwhelming to get something done, finding a tool you're looking for might be hidden somewhere

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

creating a user-friendly interface and making it simple and elucidative really helps with the process of the project. compared to other programs, the help tools especially useful and makes a difference.

 ### 41. GarageBand as a great music production DAW.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Callum B. | Marketing Executive, Hospitality, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

GarageBand is very helpful as a free music production and recording software, whether that be for beginners or those with experience in the audio industry. I like that Garageband has a very easy-to-use interface alongside a library of loops and sounds; the stock VST's are also great to start formulating creative ideas.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

GarageBand is only limited to Apple products, therefore, it is hard to find a free alternative with an interface as easy-to-use and navigate on other operating system devices. Having studied Audio, I feel that Logic Pro X has more functionality, though GarageBand is an excellent starting point.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GarageBand being a free application for all Apple product owners tackles the large financial responsibility of purchasing an alternative DAW for music production. Therefore, those starting in the world of audio don't have to look any further, as GarageBand also has integrated plug-ins and VST's that can be used without any further expense. For this reason, I feel that GarageBand is definitely solving a problem for students who may be cautious with spending money. During my studies, I heavily relied on GarageBand for my music classes, and it was a great tool that built my interest in the realm of Audio.

 ### 42. Great for Podcast Editing

**Reviewed by:** Melissa B C. | Founder/CEO/Career Coach, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

I am able to record adjust sound and use the system successfully to host podcasts

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

Sometimes the set up with the mic is a little glitchy for me but overall I love the product

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes it easy for myself to edit audio without having to find external softwares to do it or spend additional money

 ### 43. GarageBand - Sans Garage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel M. | Information Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

Easy to learn, easy to use, free with every Mac, iPad or iPhone - if you're a musician or budding musician, this is all you need to create, edit and share music and soundtracks, or learn to play guitar or piano.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

There isn't much to dislike about GarageBand, especially when it's free! However, compared to commercial products like Logic or ProTools, it is lacking support for features found only in those products such as the number of simultaneous tracks and effects, support for outboard gear, and extensive libraries of high-quality samples and effects.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GarageBand is simple enough for beginners to start using very quickly, and well-integrated with the Apple ecosystem so it's entirely possible to create professional quality audio for podcasts for YT/TT or other platforms using just iMovie and iTunes.

The ease of doing music recording and learning piano or guitar on a computer.

**Reviewed by:** Mohit G. | CICStep Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

It is a good space for upcoming music creators and definitely allows musicians, as well we audio creators to explore their creative space. Its easy to get started on, and has tools that are beginner-friendly for users. One of my favorite tools has to be the smart loops feature- customisable to my choice, but also gives me space to access pre-recorded items.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

Nothing, I have used this app for years in my earlier years as a creator- and never faced any issues personally. Livses up to the mark!

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

Cross compatibility with other OS is difficult.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I create my own tracks on my mobile device, I can easily work on the audio edits and introduce and delete different digital sound signatures into it.

 ### 48. Fun and Positive Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Braden P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2023

**What do you like best about GarageBand?**

How easy it is to make music and how fun it is.

**What do you dislike about GarageBand?**

One thing I would add to GarageBand is more tips from experts on GarageBand so you can make even better music.

**What problems is GarageBand solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A lot of apps are complicated but GarageBand offers unique elements in the app that make it so much easier to use.

 ### 49. Easiest way to record and edit audio
