Riverside has been a game changer at my company and in my own role! Being able to seamlessly record myself and others virtually and bring that recording right into other applications has been fantastic. After each call, Riverside's platform automatically generates AI clips, transcripts, captions for social media and so much more! The entire platform is so simple to utilize and is extremely reliable. The company, itself, is also so responsive to any concerns or feedback that I have and I know I can reach them if I ever run into any problems. The vast majority of the features work very well, and the regular product updates keep it feeling cutting-edge. The embedded AI is excellent overall, although it still needs a bit of refinement. Pricing for an individual such as myself is quite reasonable given the value this tool brings. It uses a lot of memory, even when it’s just open in the background. I’ve found that closing extra tabs while using it helps keep performance up. Also, the AI voice feature occasionally goes a little crazy—this has happened about half a dozen times for me. Even if an internet connection drops or becomes unstable during an interview, Riverside records each participant directly on their own device and uploads the high-quality files afterward. That provides clear, professional audio and video without the glitches common to many video conferencing platforms. I also appreciate how easy it is to invite guests, record remotely, download separate audio and video tracks, and use built-in AI features like transcriptions and clip creation. Riverside solves one of the biggest challenges in podcasting: recording high-quality remote interviews without sacrificing audio or video quality. By recording each participant locally, it eliminates many of the issues caused by unstable internet connections, such as lag, distortion, or dropped audio. It also simplifies my workflow by combining recording, transcription, editing, and clip creation into one platform. For an easy-to-use tool, RIverside is surprisingly powerful. From scheduling podcasts, to editing, hosting and distributing, the tool set has everything I need to run my show. My workflow is pretty straightforward. I use the planner tool to schedule my interviews. When it comes to recording, I have had great luck with both the quality of the audio and the video. And in all cases, the media correctly uploaded to Riverside for editing. The editing tools have what I need. Within an hour or two, I can add bumpers, sound beds and clean up the interviews. I find the tools simple to use. A game-changer for me is the AI audio sweetening. With a simple request, Riverside EQs the episode and adjusts the levels. Amazing. Once the episode has been produced, I add my show notes and an art, and with a click, the content is uploaded to YouTube, Amazon, Spotify and Apple. I am considering adding additional distribution channels because it's so easy. For a web-based tool, I find that it is responsive and does the job. And for the price, what you get can't be beat. The few times I have needed technical support I was able to fnd something on Riverside or a general web search. For a one-person podcast, this tool is everything I need to run my show. The transcription is really valuable, as you can quickly jump to the good parts. I'm warming up to the online text-based editor as I see how it's faster than desktop editing for some simple edits. The browser-based setup can be pretty heavy on system resources, which occasionally causes high CPU usage or fan noise on older laptops when running a long session. There are also moments where massive local files take a while to fully upload and process after a recording wraps, causing a bit of a bottleneck when we're ready to jump straight into editing. Riverside completely solves the logistical headache of trying to record a high-quality show with friends and guests scattered all across the country. Before, trying to collaborate across the US meant risking pixelated video, audio lag, and dropped connections ruining the natural flow of the conversation. With Riverside, the physical distance doesn't matter anymore. Because it records everyone locally on their own devices, internet stability issues vanish. We can catch up, joke around, and record with friends anywhere in the US, and the final product sounds like we're all sitting in the exact same studio. It has completely removed the technical barriers to keeping The Rooted Crew Podcast connected, saving us a ton of frustration and hours of tedious cleanup in post-production. The most helpful thing about Riverside is how easy it is to use. I can just hit record and let the AI lay the groundwork for me with cuts and clips, and the text-based editing is amazing. I also like that Riverside has added a lot of different ways to connect and share your content once it’s finished. Really focused on getting rolling and the learning curve is not too steep. Particularly like that I can edit my podcast from the transcript. Scheduling is pretty simple and at this point I'm rolling about 2 episodes a week, while still maintaining my life, which again speaks to the ease of use factor. I'm still early stage with the AI portions, but so far what I've used has been very solid - in particular I recently created within Riverside an AI personalized prompt that I can now re-use! What I like is that I had an idea that I wanted to launch a podcast, and yes I still have to do the work, but from a pure recording and post perspective Riverside has been great in that I'm able to easily set up my sessions, my guests have had no issues, the recordings have been very clean and the post production has been great, at least great for me and the bar I've set. One of the things that first stood out to me was the ability to auto-save the host's and guest's video and audio files. I lived in the mountains for about 100 episodes, and sometimes the internet would be intermittent. On more than a handful of occasions, Riverside saved us from having a great conversation that was never aired. One episode in particular I thought was a total loss, but because our files were auto-saved to the cloud, the episode aired smoothly, and no one would EVER know there was any problem to start with. I've watched the software progress as their user interface has gotten more intutitve and the additiions to their features are always nicely well done and seemingly made from someone who is actually a user. Plus the monthly price it's a no brainer for all the features you get on top of the recording platform. I implore all of my clients, and every podcaster I connect with, to use riverside because it doesn't make any sense not to! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Riverside? Every piece of software has growing pains and if there's any "dislike" it's simply those growing pains but that's not on Riverside, per se. It is on them in how their team handles that growth and expands the product. Yes, there have been some slow moments but having worked in SaaS and with digital production teams bi-weekly sprints can feel too slow at times. The biggest thing is the recording platform that's a great hub "studio" for me as well as the editing tools they have and default info that's pulled from each recording. I use the info provided to start my show notes and will use the magic clips to refine and curate the right ones to fight the episode's message. It's all super easy and fun.
