Review Summary

Generated using AI from real user reviews
Users consistently praise Xcode for its seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem, which simplifies the development process for iOS and macOS applications. The all-in-one environment, featuring tools like the simulator and debugging capabilities, enhances productivity and streamlines workflows. However, many note that it can be resource-intensive, leading to slow performance on larger projects.

"New to XCode"
What do you like best about Xcode?

I am new to XCode IDE and use it to run C++ code that uses OpenCV library to do some Computer Vision work. It has been a good experience so far, I like how easily you can debug your code and change and run again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xcode?

Again I am still new to this so I didn't figure out how to use a command line to add options to the run command, like a file name. XCode, as an IDE, needs some time to spend on it in order to figure out how to use first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Xcode?

Xcode has a great feature to design UI(Storyboard). It is really helped to design and code. To connect UI design to code, just simply drag UI elements to code line. It was fascinating Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xcode?

It only works on MAC OSX. :( I am the linux user, buying another mac is not helpful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Buggy, but gets the job done"
What do you like best about Xcode?

The advantage of using Xcode is that everything you need for iOS development is in one place. From your typical IDE features, to the UI/UX feature of Interface Builder, and built-in tools to simulate devices, Xcode comes with everything you need. It may not be the best tool for every specific task, but it will certainly get the job done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xcode?

Xcode can be very buggy to use, and often does not provide the best user experience. It's tough, but you learn to live with it because there's no better option. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use GUI"
What do you like best about Xcode?

Xcode allows anyone with basic programming knowledge program an app for iOS. Users can use the drag and drop functions of the GUI to easily create an app to meet their needs, or more skilled developers can create coding to increase and expand functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xcode?

In order to publish to the app store, you must pay to join the Apple Developers. While this is meant to provide Quality Control, there still seems to be a lot of apps that make it to the App Store that should have been stuck in QC. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reviewing Xcode"
What do you like best about Xcode?

I really like Xcode because integrates all the tools which I required for developed my apps. Firstly, there is the source code that is very clean comparying with others IDEs, then is the process of debugging that is excellent and lastly the designing. Design in Xcode is really easy, also migrate an app from a phone to a tablet and vice versa is much easier than it is when developing for Android using Android Studio

I almost forgot, uploading to the App Store using Xcode is amazing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xcode?

At the beginning it takes a while to master the tool, the language, and how to integrate external frameworks. At first, I didn't like the need of a Mac to begin to develop for Apple but then I was happy with my mac and other products of Apple.

The other thing I didn't like was that, I needed a developer account to see my apps in my telephone. With others technologies I think is easier to test your apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
